Apart from the Senegal friendly, we have another against DR Congo "almost sealed".

Our Super Eagles will be busy and kept in form no doubt. Only thing is The Camerounians have the Fifa Confederations cup in June also so they will have more games than us but again, that is no guarantee of any kinda advantage for them. Coz Matchday is always matchday..... smiley

We took part in the 2014 WC yet Congo PR trashed us a few weeks later.

I agree with you. Match day is match day.

Olimpija Ljubljana On Brink Of Deal For Tottenham Wonderkid Nathan Oduwa

Oduwa(centre): The one with the big smile

Slovenian PrvaLiga team Olimpija Ljubljana are
working on a deal to sign Nigeria U23 international Nathan Oduwa before the
close of the winter transfer market on February 15.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger is among 26 players expected to train with Olimpija Ljubljana at their training camp in Turkey, starting from Monday.

In recent years, Spurs have loaned out Oduwa to Luton Town, Rangers, Colchester United and
Peterborough to enable him get more playing
opportunities, having failed to break into the first-team squad.

Yesterday(Feb.5), the 20-year-old appeared in a Premier League 2 game for Spurs against Liverpool at Anfield.

He will link up with Blessing Eleke at Olimpija
Ljubljana if the transfer materializes.

Tega would probably say yes is he ready for Eagles I don't know.

But I think Aino (Chelsea) as a wing back is, there should be consideration for the other Tega at Tottenham in midfield. I am more impressed with Ololomola at Southampton, but saying that Solanke at Chelsea (Striker) is a good prospect too.

Ibe at Bournemouth seems to be non starter he is disengaged from the Nigerian situation.

Do you know if Solanke wants to play for Nigeria?

sorry but I don't think there is space for the Tottenham guy (onomah) and solanke in the super eagles @ the moment we can only afford to cap Abraham, aina and maybe lookman

the rest should prove themselves and wait for their time

Do you mean there is no space for Onomah and Dominic Solanke who are currently in the squad of Tottenham and Chelsea respectively?

Do you mean they have not proven themselves enough to have gotten into a team with prospect of winning the Premier League? grin

You are even rating Abraham in the Championship ahead of Solanke in the Premier League. shocked grin

Bros, they are ready else they won't have made the team in the first place. grin

Ndidi Made Pogba A Passenger In The Midfield, The Boy Is Good – Gary Neville

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has
saluted the performances of Nigerian midfielder
Wilfred Ndidi despite the 0-3 loss suffered by
Leicester City in the hands of Neville’s former club Manchester United.

Neville who was in the studio as a pundit during the course of the game, praised the Nigerian for keeping the world most expensive player Paul Pogba silent for the entire duration of the game.

Ndidi who was voted Leicester City man of the
match by the BBC made a good impression on
the former Valencia boss, who described his
performance as near perfect.

”I can’t fault his (Ndidi) performance, he was
very big in the game. He made Pogba a
passenger in the middle. The boy is good in
tackles and he is not afraid of running with the
ball either”, Neville said.

”He got Pogba booked and was fouled severally, that said I can’t remember when he fouled any opponent. He did well despite how poor his team were on the day”.

Iheanacho In Hot Water With Man City Coach After Refusing To Sign Representation Contract

Kelechi Iheanacho has fallen out of favour with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, and it has been suggested by a City insider that the Nigeria international refused to sign a representation contract with one of the most
powerful agencies in the world, Pere Guardiola’s
Media Base Sports.

The Taye Academy product has been frozen out
of the Citizens squad, and has not been included on their 18-man roster for the last four matches in all competitions.

It was earlier claimed by Chidiebere Nwakali’s
camp that Pere Guardiola now looks after the
former Flying Eagles midfielder, and the Spanish agent also manages another Man City talent Brahim Díaz, who was rewarded with a new deal in September.

When asked why Iheanacho is no more getting
game time, a Manchester City staff told
allnigeriasoccer.com : “Kelechi refused to sign
a contract with Pere Guardiola, that’s why he is
out of the team. ”

Iheanacho is thought to be represented by
Gareth Bale’s agency, Stellar Group, but it is
being contested by the company that brokered
the deal that took him to Manchester City in
2014, First Eleven Management.

Rubbish, this is just a wild guess. Iheanacho already has a case with 2 agents so adding Pep's brother would make it 3.

I have been watching Rueben since he was 16 he is quality, voted best player in the Toulon tournament.

He will definitely get into the Arsenal team for sure and you are comparing him to Elneny and Xhaka come on Oga open your korokoro well.

This guy will bring the steel and grit that Arsenal lacks in the midfield he is not slow definitely athletic, strong and technically very good.

This is the same City that bought and played the waste man Jack Rodwell. If Rueben was in City he will not be bench warmer.

Lotus-Cheek is not better than Elneny and Xhaka. No matter how many times you watch him. He might bring grit and steel but lacks sophistication in his style.

As for Jack Rodwell, he was never a regular at City.

Forgiveness,

I understand your rational, we have the raw talent however I do feel some need to play in. A higher league to develop thier skill sets and realise thier full potential.

My query is that Rohr is too mainland Europe biased well actually German and Dutch.

He needs to pack his bags come to England spend a month and if he likes I'll take him round a few places and he will be pleasantly suprised.

Without Rohr even going to stay in England, they NFF has a representative on ground in England whose sole responsibility is to scout and convince good players to play for the Nigerian national team. And we are also monitoring these players through the media. We know them and discuss them here regularly.

You can go through the Olympic thread and the beginning of this thread.

However, how many of them are really willing to play for their father's land?

My point is that we got stronger as the tourney progressed. But comparing both finals, Cameroon was more convincing in my opinion.

safarigirl:
Nigeria seemed lucky? In what way?

We played Cote d'Ivoire in the QF, we won them 2-1. Cameroon played Senegal and only defeated them via penalties

We went on to play Mali, another strong West African team, Top 5 in Africa then, I think.....we DESTROYED them 4-1. Cameroon played Ghana, wobble and fumble Ghana, and won 2-0.

We played Burkina Faso in finals and won them 1-0. Cameroon played a stronger Egypt and won them 2-1

So, how did we get lucky when we always finished our games in regular time? undecided
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Joebie: 11:48am On Feb 07, 2017
they have played 5 games more.. That's going to count in their favor. That means they are ahead preparation wise.. Let's get real. We are still in the process of tidying things up in our backline. We only have two defenders. Officiating in Africa is quite different. don't expect the referee to always blow when Cameroonian attackers out-muscle our defenders.

Icon4s:

Rustiness?

Will Cameroun continue playing every week till the WC qualifiers in August?

We have a friendly in march and AFCON qualifiers in June just like Cameroun too. So which one bring rustiness on our own side?

My view has remained that August is 6months away. That is a very long time for a lot to have changed. What matters most is the form of the teams as at the time the games are to be played.

Are you sure you have watched Mikel ever, to use the term overrated or dictate Tempo. Over the last few years, Mikel has clearly been our standout player. All through the AFCON, Qualifiers for the World Cup and Confederation Cup. He was the base of our play, the vision that steered the direction of the team. A player who shone at the AFCON and stood out in a midfield against the European and World Champions, Spain.

As far as I am concerned, he is even one of the most overrated players in football.

Who is this representative? It seems his profile must be low, because it was Amaju who personally went to speak to Jordan Ibe and his step Dad Michael.

The quality of your emissary can often determine the quality and nature of response received.

I don't want to go into your negative presumption about willingness to play for your fatherland by British Nigerian who may even speak more Nigerian languages than you.

The other issues PLEASE understand me we are Nigerians. When our people often get into position of influence we then look how we can manipulate the situation for financial gain. I know what I a m talking about.
