Sir Goldfish... Are you saying Bassogog will bench Victor Moses? On the right?

And Moukandjo will bench Iwobi on the left?

Nobody benches those two in Africa, not even Mahrez. I seriously doubt they will make our team.

I Think their Ondoa would get a chance like a Cech to Ospina rotation style = Ikeme to Ondoa rotation

Meanwhile, their wings are just their top flash this Afcon.

Their defence is rough and if we can capitalise on that and try to get some PKS when we meet, then we're good.

goldfish80:

According to the article, the writer said apart from Ondoa and the two centre backs, you will do well to find any other player who can get into the Super Eagles squad.
Personally, I will add Benjamin Moukandjo and Bassogog to those who can make our squad.
this is what am trying to point out to sir Joseph.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 5:22pm On Feb 07, 2017
Moses switches with Iwobi during our games ooo... Against Algeria, he started on the right before he switched to the left.

But you're right... "Predominantly", Moses is found on the left in Super Eagles games.

So on the right then, Bassogog will bench Iwobi?

On the left No one can bench Moses on that Camerounian team and that is where Moukandjo majorly operated from... "The left"

Moukandjo in the centre?... He may "kinda" have a shot but I doubt it.... smiley

It is in defence I will comfortably say Cameroun will walk into our squads.... Their fullbacks like Onyango is an example.

goldfish80:

Moses plays predominantly on the left for the Super Eagles while Bassogog plays on the right preferring to cut in with his left foot.
With the form Moukandjo displayed and his leadership qualities, definitely he can win a spot in our midfield.
He is comfortable on the wings and in the middle remember.

Funny enough, Ikeme and Ondoa are my two main goalies in Dream league Soccer 2017.... grin

But on who benches who... Ikeme benches Ondoa... #fact

Iit based on personal views. I am emphasis Nigeria first 11 and not the whole team. For the records nor of there player ply there trade in any of the top league in Europe. Are you saying that ondoa will bench Carl or bassagog will bench victor,
TheSuperNerd:
Yes Sir Joseph... It has to be this... smiley

I'm just seeing this myself after he made mention of Solace...

Obviously Solace didn't say "none will make our starting 11"... Haba... Looll

I think Cameroun's best chance in our team is the defence. One man in centre back and the two fullbacks. I may take Ondoa to Ikeme (because of longevity)

To be honest... Lemme be more specific...

First XI Quality comparison...

Ikeme benches Ondoa

Oyongo = Echiejile

Fai benches ? (Who's our right back again?) grin

Ekong = Teiku/Nkoulou

Balogun benches Ngadjui

Ndidi/Onazi benches Djoum

Etebo benches Siani

Mikel benches Zoua

Victor Moses benches Moukandjo

Iwobi benches Bassogog

Iheanacho benches Vincent Aboubakar/Tambe...

Yikes!!!! Sorry folks... This is the truth...

Sir Joseph1013.... Sorry for that slight comment... That's why I used "debabtable". Will modify now... grin

Behold the comparisonometer.... smiley

It will be too plain to say Bassogog will bench Iwobi. Remember, Iwobi's favorite position is not on the right. Even if he played there for the Super Eagles, he barely just managed. In the match against Algeria, if we are to be honest, he had no joy playing on the right apart from the rainbow flick, he offered nothing else.
You should know by now that am a free thinker and not biased or guided with sentiments when am analysing soccer.

Bassogog is more comfortable on the right, while Iwobi does better in the Ozil position as no 8. Bassogog was the Mvp in this Afcon, hope you remember.

Good point, but remember that Ondoa has been keeping for Cameroun since 2014. Ikeme came in in 2015 for the Eagles. If someone like Ondoa was around during the Enyeama drama, Oliseh may not have bothered with Ikeme. It was another German, Volker Finke, who gave Ondoa his break in the national team.

Bassogog was magnificent at the Afcon... But I have to admit also that Iwobi brings more quality and danger to the wings even though he is much much more comfortable in the centre.

The goodjoe always harps on the point that players should be chosen by 'BESTNESS'. Other criteria like experience, leadership etc counts but finess in quality trumps them all. There's something about playing for your country, a certain fire and just because a player plays in a lesser known league does not mean that the door should be shut on him if such a player is good and has the heart to rise up to the challenge. In 2002 Enyeama was unknown but he proved to be man enough for our nets. Big names, big clubs might not just be the best criteria.

His strength and speed on the ball makes it easy for him to beat defenders, this makes it difficult to be disposses
