unicbabe:- First, I think you should begin with an accounting certification (if you are not on one before) - Secondly, tailor your resumé to reflect your desire to change field. For one, your resumé might still be pointing recruiters to your current field of experience. In your career objective section, which should be somewhere close to the top, explain that you are seeking to pursue your passion in accounting - More importantly, target accounting-related vacancies and send your resumé. send... send... send! If you were sending like, an average of 2 applications before, send like 20-50. Crazy? You will agree with me that statistically, it boosts your probability of getting an invite -Network with friends and colleagues in the field. There might be a need for an accounting personnel in your current place of employment. Speak with the HR manager and discuss with him/her about your wish to switch across board. Actually, this may be easy for you, especially if the organization is one you wish to remain with for a long time -Linkedin is your friend.
