Question 1: what i will advise is for you to visit the university website of any institutions you found on daad that you are interested in and have a look at the minimum requirements that the program accepts from prospective applicants to determine if you should apply or not.

Question 2: a formal letter from your university confirming that your entire degree program was done in english will suffice on a university by university basis to satisfy the ielts requirement, however it should be noted that communicating with the program coordinator, admissions office or international office of the universities you are applying to will be required to confirm acceptance of the above as well as submission of your pending ielts results at a specified date.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I am currently applying for a visitor's visa.
One of the requirements is "Typed and signed sheet with the following information: name, d.o.b., place o.b., passport number, telephone number, email, postal address, contact in Germany (name and address) "
What does a typed sheet look like? I don't really understand it. I have a guarantor's form with all these details already.

I want to appreciate all the people that have always contributed here from part 1 to this part 3 : Seyi, William, biglord, Odingo, tboi, etc.

Please I have these concerns and I need your help

1) Can a person with a Low degree result (2.4 - 2.5 Nigerian scale) get a PGD program in Germany or at best a direct MSC program in Engineering.

2) Assuming you borrow some of the money to fund your DB account, can you withdraw the money/transfer back to the person that lend you the money, after resuming school in Germany.

1. Yes you can get a direct masters here,I haven't heard about PGD program in Germany, I don't think they do PGD,with good motivation letter you are good to go.

2.No,you can only withdraw the money small small because you can't withdraw more than 600-800€ per month. The withdrawal from DB account has a limit per month.

Question 1: You need 2.5 on German Scale generally to be considered for most programs. However, with good packaging as in Letter of Motivation, Work experience, References, Recommendation letter, Detailed CV etc you just might increase your chances of getting admitted.

Question 2: You will not be able to withdraw all the borrowed money at once to return to the lender because you are only allowed to withdraw €720 monthly only from the Blocked account.

Thanks to tboi and Odingo for your quick response

I was already giving up hope on getting a direct masters program with such low CGPA. I was even considering starting over again for a fresh bachelors degree (as suggested by some people).

I will appreciate it if there's a suggestion on public schools that have usually low grade admission requirement.

The truth is that, your chances are limited with that grade. Getting a place will depend on your course and the state where the schools that are offering your course are located and at the same time, if the course has NC or not, i.e restricted admission. In some states, it is law binding that the minimum requirement for Msc program is 2.5 German scale. The state of Lower saxony has removed that from the laws governing their higher institutions;that I am sure of. You can look towards that direction too provided they will have what you are looking for. Having said that, go to daad.de, pick out all the schools offering your course and apply to them, apply also to Bsc program too as plan B to avoid story that touch. You can later pick the best when the admission letters are rolling in. As for block account, you can only withdraw 720Euro in a month, but note, you might not be able to send a kobo home for the first 2 months because of the accomodation fee, caution fee, enrolment fee and feeding. Shalom

Finally went to the German Embassy today and it's real. I have been issued a student visa without proof of finance.

Deutschland on Wednesday.
Don't get over excited, to get a residence permit you have to show your financial proof . For your own good, open a block account and pay the required money or take the money along with you and open a current account once you arrive.

Yeah I know.

But you see, there are ways to get across that. I have funds though.

And If I don't, I have many of my colleagues in Germany. I could take small funds from them, deposit it, print a statement and give them back their money. The embassy can only verify the printed statement, they cannot check the balances of an account.
That's how I even got a Romanian visa in the first place.

Cheers.
Germany is quite different from Romania. Once you set up a blocked DB account you can only withdraw €720 monthly and if you show up to the aliens office with the full funds in any other account that is not a Blocked account you will be asked to move it to a Blocked account. I sincerely hope you have a bunch of patient friends when it comes to money though.
