A refined WW2 relic. I think it's mainly used to spray herbicides in the West.

1st production was in 2003, so it cant be a world war relic or any relic for that matter.

Moreover its a made in brazil aircraft
The Embraer EMB 314 Super Tucano (About this sound pronunciation), also named ALX or A-29 is a turboprop light attack aircraft designed for counter insurgency (COIN), close air support, aerial reconnaissance missions in low threat environments, as well as providing pilot training. Designed to operate in high temperature and humidity conditions in extremely rugged terrain, the Super Tucano is highly maneuverable, has a low heat signature, incorporates fourth generation avionics and weapons system to deliver precision guided munitions.

Even most of the private jets our people buy, how many are new ?

Does Brazil manufacture planes? Especially military planes?

It is not a third world aircraft. Top of the line US technologies inside.
Some funny guy on this thread was also talking about Nigeria developing all the technology required.
This is impossible. Embraer the Brazilian manufacturer bought a license from the US and also integrated technology/parts from more than 30 companies in 20 foreign countries to produce the aircraft.

We should just concentrate on broad areas of engines, airframes and avionics and try to catch up fast. Each of these areas also has many technology areas dominated by many companies in many countries. It is not easy so we have to start now

Na wa. They do. Since when I was in university. That was decades ago. They started with a small Tucano civil aircraft

Nice addition to our Air power, but we should also purchase two to three Brazilian professionals(pre-owned or not) to help man the aircraft since our own pilots are clueless.
undecided undecided
Nigeria has one of the best fighter pilots in Africa, hope you know that?

Our country sha. These guys should have first sent NAF engineers on a training course in Brazil for about 2 years before making the purchase. But eez alright, all Na chopping national cake things
Our pilots have what it takes to fly a super Tucano. NAF Pilots are already trained for such aircrafts and moreover we have pilots capable of flying 4th generation aircrafts

better aircraft means more money to purchase

Moreover, even with your money its not evry aircraft that can be sold to you.

Remember during GEJ time? With all the cash seized in south Africa, we are still not able to purchase aircraft
