TheNonce: lordfalcao: You're aware that in awarding the European golden shoe, there is a metric done via UEFA coefficients. While the top leagues are divided by 2. The French league is regarded as a weaker league and their coefficient is 1.5. This was why Zlatan couldn't win the golden shoe. Hazard wasn't bought for his goal scoring , it was more of his play making and creativity. How many strikers from the French league apart from Drogba have made their name elsewhere or gone on to be very successful ? 2 Likes |

donjazet: Drogba bossed Ligue 1 and still succeeded in EPL. Hazard bossed Ligue 1 and still succeeded in EPL. Ruud Van Nistlerooy bossed Dutch League and did the same in EPL. Suarez bossed Dutch League and did the same in EPL. Why can't Lacazzette replicate his Ligue 1 form in EPL? 3 Likes |

donjazet: I don't even understand why you had to lump my post in with lordfalcaos own because I am just asking you a logical question! If drogba and BENZEMA/ZLATAN were successful why can't some other sap from the same league do the same? All that co efficient crap never matters once you get in front of goal! I'm not a fan of the french ligue but i'm a fan of giving talent a platform to blossom! Everyone deserves a chance to prove they can chop it up in the big time...and you guys actually need strikers! Even us... |
Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by lordfalcao(m): 2:55pm On Feb 09, 2017 |
donjazet:how does this post relates to the reason lukaku is elite while lacazette is average? Drogba, benzema, Ibrahimovic all came from league 1 and are successful. Lukaku came from a poor league like Belgium and is doing fine. Why won't lacazette do fine in EPL?? 1 Like |

donjazet: So because of UEFA coefficient one cannot buy a proven goal scorer from a 'weaker league'? Why did you 'apart' Drogba in your question? Isn't he from that same 'weaker league'? Benzema and Thierry Henry made name elsewhere too. |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by donjazet(m): 3:22pm On Feb 09, 2017 |
timbros: There was a time these leagues were actually strong. Same can't be said now but that's by the way. I am of the opinion that the French league is not the league that should be used as a yard stick to rate a striker RIGHT NOW. and UEFA'S goal coefficients supports this. I once read an article on why Chelsea didn't send our midfielders or strikers to the French league.. This was also down to the strength of the league.(note that it's for those sent abroad). Just as the Italians are known for their defense and the Spanish known for the midfielders. The French league has been known not to produce good STRIKERS. There might be just a sprinkle of them like Drogba and Henry but that is not a norm. |

lordfalcao: You all need to grow up and ditch these Fantasy Football punditry. No sane pundit sees Lacazette as an elite forward, I am only hearing that crap on a Nigerian forum. What qualifies him to be one? Right from the day Laca decided to go professional till 2013, he only managed to find the net 15 times in God knows how many seasons. He only started finishing the season on double figures from 2013/14. Is that how elite he is? The guy is 25-years-old and is on 91 career league goals. Lukaku who is two years younger has already found the net 109 times on the domestic scene. The former doesn't know what his national team jersey looks like, whilst the latter is trusted with the responsibility of goal-scoring in his team. I dont know about you, but i am really sure Lacazette is of the knowledge that where he's headed in life, a younger Lukaku has already gotten there. Lacazette ko Cassette ni. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Griffon:firstly, I won't call you a sane pundit because no sane pundit sees lukaku an Elite striker and sees lacazette as an average Joe. Secondly, you needs to get your facts right. I don't know the site that told you lacazette has 15 goals from ligue 1 since 2013, stop spewing rubbish. Over the last 4 seasons lacazette has been posting double digit goals in the league more than lukaku. Lacazette has a total of 91 league goals and 31 assist to his name despite playing lasser number of matches. While lukaku is on 109 league goals which includes his time in ( Anderlecht, westbrom, everton) You don't have enough excuses to call lukaku a better striker than lacazette. The two are average joes. |

CONTEDDICTED:goals is the matrix to judging strikers first before any other thing. If you bring it to goals lacazette shames icardi mercilessly on that. If you take it to overall play, lacazette shames him again. |

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne was voted the Best Belgian Player in a Foreign League for 2016 ahead of Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Atletico Madrid's Yannick Carrasco. De Bruyne picked up the title for a second consecutive year after helping City reach the semifinals of the Champions League and was presented with the award by Thierry Henry. http://www.espnfc.us/manchester-city/story/3056805/kevin-de-bruyne-named-best-belgian-player-in-a-foreign-league For 2 yrs in a row KdB has won ahead of Hidden Ikedia Hazard the one comparable to Messi and Adokiye Amesimaka |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by raumdeuter: 4:41pm On Feb 09, 2017 |
lordfalcao: That was because Coutinho was in a particularly good form at that time and Neymar wasnt But Hidden is been touted to be in the best form of his career and KdB has even cooled off a little Yet KdB beats Hidden for 2 yrs in a row. 2yrs in a row |

lordfalcao: Na glaucoma dey worry you? I wrote right there, prior to the season of 2013/14, Lacazette never hit double figure anywhere. When he was busy scratching 6 goals a season, Lukaku don already begin bag in goals in double figures for Anderlecht. Them no be mates, so go siddon. 3 Likes |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by TheNonce: 5:59pm On Feb 09, 2017 |
raumdeuter: So it was his 1st and only season at Marseille that made him a risk worth taking? Because from 1998 till 2003(5 years) he made 109 appearances across 2 clubs and only scored 32 goals! So based on your logic which season should lacazette or Belloti be signed on? Or let the blues keep waiting till they both have a "drogbaesque season?" |

Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Champions Of Europe 2021 by raumdeuter: 6:43pm On Feb 09, 2017 |
TheNonce: A footballer is measured based on his recent form not his form 5yrs ago Before that season in Marseille he has scored well for Guingamp in his final season. 17 league goals in his final season was why Marseille bought him and he ended that season as one of the best strikers in Europe I think he even won the Onze d'or for 2004 with his performance Its like Diego Costa. Before his final season at Atletico he spent most of his career as a mediocre striker for lower clubs. Yet Chelsea bought him after just that one great season in Atletico |
