Nihilist I wonder how you got into a soccer debate with this _sperm bank in the 1st place! Abeg dey screen some of these plonkers...see her mumu honey butt plugger sef dey form protector on top! LMFAO.....

Mehn I didn't get into a soccer debate with her. She quoted me first in an insult filled post. It was after her quote that I went back to review the thread and her past posts and discovered that she has a history of unprovoked attacks.

I don't even mind the abuse along as you're making a fact-based argument. She just came at me with an emotional rant from the left field and then surprsingly some other posters quickly rose up to Cape for her.

Na so them dey do for here? Na wa o.

Apparently she is their self acclaimed reigning champ in stupidity here! So it seems the few cowards on here that tolerate her vacuous soccer stylings have given her the air of a sexually frustrated demi god in here!

Maybe now she would be forced to learn some manners next time and learn to use a lot more spit when swallowing our soccer nut sacks without using her fangs as all good sluts should know!

Simple question. Was Mikel a first team regular after Ancelotti left?

Yes or No?

Let's start there.

This is different from saying Mikel was World Class. Ramires also made a very important contribution vs Barcelona. Is he World Class too?

To the point Ancelotti left, Mikel has already done a lot to put himself to of the pile. Then the other runs after Ancelotti certified him World Class. As I said, I am not ready to argue the dynamics. Trying to cut off Mikel’s run before Ancelotti is trying to tell a half story. He conquered.

Omo stop being corny and let the situation die. People argue here all the time and get out of character but we are all human so we move on. This thread is not mine or yours it clearly says Nigeria so let get off it. If u don't think u are big enough to overlook a slight or two then do it for Nigeria because all this is making us look silly. Share us ur knowledge of Nigerian football, don't share insults.

Stop exonerating yourself from this. You are the one who stooped so low as calling a true hero of our Jersey a Nonentity. Yet You are trying to take the high moral ground. You are at fault here and not safarigirl. Yes, I did not like her reply but such statement from you is as low as any insult can get.

Costa was offered £1m a week by the Chinese while Mikel is on £120k a week in China. If longevity was a decider, Mikel would have been valued more.
Infact let me ask you, the brand Mikel Obi and the brand Diego Costa which one is bigger, even in Nnobi town where Mikel hails from?

To make it easy for you, Mourinho opting to leave Mikel out of the Chelsea squad and things going South. Then Guus Hiddink coming in, bringing Mikel back into the team to steady the ship, shows the importance and quality of Mikel, not reducing his quality.

That is why I said, the dynamics of Mikel’s appearance showed his quality. When I first stated my opinion, I used a term, in the end, it had to be Mikel. Meaning, no matter how coaches tried to take him out of the picture, it ended up with Mikel being key to part of their success.

So, I already addressed the appearance issue
.

I've been a Chelsea fan since 2002 and my posts have been from the perspective of an ardent Chelsea fan.

Mikel has never been World Class for Chelsea, at his best he was a decent player. That was it. As a midfielder he was slow and ponderous without the ball and uninventive and lacking incision on the ball which is why he was a frin

Don't mind them, maybe the meaning of world class has changed, world class my ass, when pple like Raumdeuter will still argue that Eden Hazard isn't world class, these ones are referring to Obi as world class. grin grin

I no fit laugh abeg.

But Ancelotti's reign was the watershed in Mikel's Chelsea career.

2010/2011 season saw Mikel make 28 league starts. After that season till the day he left, Mikel never made up 20 league starts again .
So it's clear that we can actually split Mikel's Chelsea career into 2 distinct phases- Pre 2010 and Post 2010

Pre 2010 was the period in Mikel's career where he showed great promise under Mourinho, Scolari and Ancelotti. In fact it was under Ancelotti that I think Mikel played his best football at the Base of the diamond formation in 09, and as part of a 3 in 2010.

As soon as Ancelotti left AVB dropped Mikel and the rest is history.

So when you say Mikel was World class, I can only presume that you mean during the Pre 2010 phase of Mikel's Chelsea tenure...because it cannot be post 2010.

There is no distinct phase. Mikel had a career. He did well. Played in memorable games. Put up good shows in them.

You are a clown. Mikel was a non-entity at Chelsea in the final years of his career there. That's a fact. I mean this is a guy that was clearly fit and Conte completely refused to play him, and even insisted that Mikel was injured, much to Mikel's amusement.

How relevant can a man be, if he only played on 36% of the league games he was eligible for over the last 7 years? How is he not a non-entity at Chelsea.

Obviously if your friend failed to understand context and comes out blazing due her profound lack of ignorance, I can't do anything about that..but I definitely expected more from you based in your reputation.

Seems like clowns of a feather will clown together.

It is too low when we are talking of a Nigerian footballing Icon. Mikel has done a lot for our National team and football to get that. It will certainly provoke negative reactions from those who adore and love Mikel’s contributions.

Mikel a non-entity?? Goodness me!

I think you need to be lobotomised grin

Nihilist:

[s]Again cognitive dissonance.

Firstly, Carlo Ancelotti likening Mikel to himself does not mean Mikel was World Class. Managers hype their players all the time. Ancelloti once said Ramires was the future of Chelsea. He used to hype Malouda as one of Chelsea's best players.

Secondly using some vague praise Ancelotti said almost a full decade ago to try claim Mikel was world class makes no sense when it's obvious that Mikel has been largely irrelevant at Chelsea for the last 6 years.

Of course your opinion is your opinion. You might also believe that Sikira Sindodo is hotter than Beyoncé. That's cool too.

However I don't deal in uninformed opinions. I deal in facts.

Chelsea played 200 league games between the start of 2010/2011 season and January 2017. Mikel started only 85 of those games. That's 42.5%

Mikel couldn't even start half the games his team was playing.

When we actually analyse his playing time over that particular period, We find that Mikel only managed to rack up 6501 league minutes from a possible 18000.

That means he only actually played 36% of Chelsea's games over the the last 7 years despite having the chance to impress a whopping 6 managers in that time frame.

During this time we saw a 35 year old Lampard, and 2 centre backs in David Luiz and Kurt Zouma play in midfield while a Fit Mikel was picking splinters out of his ass on the bench

That's not a world class player...that's a non-entity.[/s]
