Hello NL fam.. After enjoying a good 2 years using my Tecno R7 it finally packed up. .. So i have decided to move onto samsung, however most of those i looked up on Jumia and Konga which is within my budget(130k)does not meet up to what i'm looking for in a phone. in terms of battery(above 3000mAh, RAM(above 2gig), processor speed(above 1.5GHz), camera(13MP/8MP), et.al. I finally came across Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime.. And i'd like to know if anyone has any good or bad personal experience using the phone. I want to be sure i'll be making a good decision buying the phone.. Thanks all..can't wait to read from you.

its really a good device.camera is sperb. display 264 ppi is low but with a super amoled it looks good. it can handle the games very well there is no lag. j7 prime is also a good but if you need a good camera and better display you should go with j7(2016).

5) balanced performance with 2gb ram

6) runs high end games well

7) ram management is good

cons-

Obviously you or maybe both of you have no idea of the phone she's talking about. J7 Prime has 3gb ram, it has fingerprint scanner, it is 8mm thick and not 7.8mm, it's powered by exynos 7870 and not 7850. It's a Full HD phone i.e 1080p display and therefore there's no way it is 264ppi, the thing is 401ppi and finally it doesn't have Super amoled screen, the screen is actually TFT which to me is the worst part of the phone, the display simply looks washed out. Not a good display. I know somebody that owns the phone.

Where i said i wanted a phone above 2gig RAM i obviously knew it was 3gig .. Other specs i dont really know much about..asides the specs i look out for in a phone which i stated up there.. as per the display you talked about..what do you mean by 'looks washed out' can you explain further please

If you're into screen details you'd understand. When you have Super amoled display (like the one on my Galaxy A5 2016) you'll see great colour production, pixels are punchy and u'll just know it's a great screen. But the case with TFT screens is that they're just like the screens u have on all these low end china phones, the screen just doesn't look nice. But it might not be a deal breaker for you, but for me, I can't buy a Samsung phone that's over 100k in price and it won't have Samsung's signature Super Amoled screen.
But seriously, if that screen is not a problem to you, you can easily buy that phone, it's a good performer. And the battery life is near perfect( I think it's 3300mah battery) on a 5.5" screen. There's led notification light, the body is made of metal

I'm using A5 2016 and the battery is 2900mah but its performance is stellar, very good battery. However, there's also the recently launched A5 2017, that one is 3000mah and the performance is also very good. Note that they're both 5.2 inchers not 5.5 as u would like.

I personally don't like the phone cos it's too expensive why can't you check out xiaomi phones

If you used it for two years then it served you well go for Tecno l8 this time

It's better than the average TFT tho

The thing that I didn't liked in J7 is only non-removable battery. rest of things are personally used by me in Samsung galaxy j7.
