In my opinion, Barcelona has always had a possession football philosophy. Most coaches that have coached this team were once players of the barca system. This explains why the possession based football has become the barcelona trademark over the years.

In recent years, (past 9years precisely) only martino has gone trophyless...however, barca played strictly possession football under him. We lost to athletico on away goals and head to head in the UCL and liga respectively. I personally pitied Martino... We didn't win anything... But the barca trademark was preserved....

This explains the standard at Barcelona... We keep the ball to win the match...and eventually win trophies... Anything less is unacceptable. Other teams may win the trophy without any kind of philosophy or tactic... But the Barcelona blueprint is to possess at all times, and keep scoring to win trophies. Martino did keep to the style, but he won zilch. He even voluntarily resigned as he saw the board didn't have faith in him.


Enrique is quite an interesting case. Despite being a barca blood, Barca's blueprint does not reflect his tactics. He excellently guided barca to a treble in his first season...ardent observers of the Barcelona philosophy could observe how he needlessly rotated the team several times... A lot of folks got confused... But after he won that treble.. He did silence lots of his critics... But to be honest, MSN made Enrique! There were a number of ocassions where it was apparent that Enrique only cared about relying on MSN at the expense of the possession trademark that Barcelona is known for. The danger of this is that football is not a one man sport... the secret to a successful team is in teamwork... individual brilliance is just an icing on the cake. Real Madrid was largely unsuccessful under José mourinho because they played apart... There was no cohesion in their game play... They're enjoying more success under zidane just like under ancelotti because there's more possession, and feeder players are being given playing time....


Enrique's neglect of possession based play is an insult to the barca trademark... And this has been a long time coming. Tonight is only the beginning. When individual brilliance is not enough, tteamwork is what prevails...unfortunately, Enrique doesn't give a shit about teamwork

It's funny when Barca losses woefully and the next thing is a revolution is needed. Enrique got the game wrong straight from the starting line-up. I knew we were gonna lose immediately I said the midfield of Iniesta and Gomes.


A Rafinha and Suarez with Vidal at right back wouldn't lose this match. Even if they were gonna lose, it wouldn't be this woeful.


We are so out of UCL. We can hold onto Copa and fight for Liga till the end. Personally, I don't feel pained. I was actually laughing when the goals where shipping in.

Back to drawing board while we right the wrong
vidal is out till next season.


Seriously,enrique shud just resign....
