its actually 12v 30w, which makes the 10watt fan still first choice fan. Unfortunately, I broke 2 of the blades of my 10watt fan and now need another one. I was surprised to see it on jiji for 5k. the same fan I bought for only 2k5 last quarter of last yr!

Here is the setup I am planning

I have no electronics in my place ,just laptop (NO time for TV ,when I am bored just download film watch for laptop)
Planning on going hybrid (Solar and Wind )
I studied EE(Elect Elect Engineering)

Building the wind isn't a problem (all i need is a condemned fan)
Building charge controller isn't (would cost me max of 2k to build)
Building the inverter myself isnt (or I might just use the UPS to save my time)(max of 1.5k for 500w-1000w if i want to build)
And thinking of starting out with a 7AH battery( 2 pcs ) ,till I get more cash .

Here is the circuit(for charger ) i intend using

Based on my calculations it should work(but would take longer to charge the battery-I would build a charger for it ) ,but in practical i am not sure .
I need some inputs please


ADVICE: Nairalanders if you are on a budget ,and you have some knowledge try to build stuff on your own , all this companies making all this inverters and smart chargers are just chopping you.Transistor is #20,Diode is #5. Even if you don't have the knowledge you can acquire it !!!.


MODIFIED :Also thinking of putting the solar panel inside on the window, then redirect sunlight with a mirror(because I live in a rough area make dem no go break am for me and i can't install on roof ).

I no fit talk wetin I no see, the seller should be able to tell u the truth, if that ups is not 12v and u buy it, it won't work. Let him test the ups with only one 12v battery and not connect to electricity ,if it doesn't power, then its not 12v

Yes I beta pass my neighbour can power smart charger but start charging the battery at the lowest and adjust it with the knob till it gets to what your generator can take or else the generator would just off.

I thought I could transplant the engine, but I damaged the whole thing beyond repair. Else, trust I would have inventively fixed artificial blades to it.

will be upgrading to a 12v 1.2kva blue gate ups today, my only problem is that it beeps endlessly , but i have discovered a way to make the beeping stop temporarily, although i have used celotape on the ups to reduce the beeping but i still love the performance of my 650va beepless ups, even though i used celotape on this 1.2kva,the beep has redused but wait make 12mid night nack, people wey dey ur village go dey hear the sound......
we changed some ups in my office and i discovered that one out of all of them is 12v 1.2kva, so i started experimenting, i have reduce the sound and i have a small swictch with wires, from the panel where the beeper is connected,i used razor blade to cut of one of the joining of the beeper,
the beeper has two legs, dont cut of the legs o!!!! just cut off from panel joining, now take ur ON and OFF stwitch wires and solder to the joining , anytime u put the switch on, the sound comes back and anytime u put it off ,the sound goes, but u have to be monitoring it, i have a charge controller with screen, so when ever i see the voltage of battery on the screen ,i will know if its ok or time to shut everything down, but u will have nice sleep with ur 10w fan without the beeping sound disturbing ur sleep, i will always leave the beeper on when my tv and other stuff are on, but will put it off when i want to sleep, the 10w fan to consume anything,

U can use any switch but u can buy a small neat looking one so that ur work will look neat, get it from any electrical shop or go to oshodi arena, u will get different types

in falz's voice weldone sir.... u can try replace the buzzer with led light, add a current limiting resistor if necessary... only that the ups must be in sight to check the frequency on blinking ....

i wont be disconnecting the beeper, it will have a switch,it will only be on in the day when almost all the load is on it but will put the switch off at night when i want to sleep at this time ,its only my 10w fan that is on, so its no load

..... and exactly my thoughts disconecting one of the transformer
