Most of this maternal mortality are preventable if the expectant mother allow the doctors and nurses to help her and if doctors and nurse work together to help the expectant mother.

A childhood friend, a graduate lost her life during childbirth because she does not want to offend the mother in Law. Instead of registering in hospital, she registered in a traditional home where they use mirror to call forth the child. This is not Nollywood movie, it happened life. I was dumbfounded.

Maternal mortality is gravest form of human right abuse. The major causes of maternal mortality are preventable. It is shameful that 40000(Forty thousand) Nigerian women die yearly from complications of pregnancy and there no protests. I think a state of emergency should be declared to tackle this problem. But trust Nigerians, it's never going to be their portion.

For real. It happened last year Dec. She was so beautiful. The simple calculation I made was, she didn't register for ante natal, hence, she didn't do all the test like d hepatitis, blood group, she might have rhesus issue, and the baba of it is, she might not take tetanus injection at all during pregnancy, which is very essential while giving birth cause of the wound that comes with it.

Is she a Jehovah's witness again? You blamed Jehovah witnesses last time, so who is to be blamed now?

Sad , maternal mortality is still very high.

No one is asking questions, all we're interested in is to type our programed response of RIP.

What happened? Where did she deliver, home, hospital, maternity home etc What were the circumstances surrounding the delivery.

Nigerians need to quit with the sentiments, ask questions and learn in order to make life happier for ourselves.

You get sense pass me...but no need to ask...

Is pity that people on daily basis die unnecessarily, while our so called mega churches have one, two even three private jets. Why can't one of these mega churches take up this problem and vow to stop it. Sometimes I wonder what people are thinking. We are busy building churches and not people.

may the dead rest from this absurd life.

Is it not an absurdity of this absurd life that 4 out of 10 probably die during childbirth while 1 out of ten probably die during abortion?
Re: Nigerian Lady Dies After Childbirth (photos) by Ehi07(f): 8:01pm On Feb 21, 2017
None taken. But i don't see anything wrong in praying against premature death. Sometimes you do all the right things & everything still works against you. Well that's by the way. I respect your opinion so pls dont requote me and tell about over reliance and all. Am not superstitious but i will be naive to pretend i don't how evil & wicked people are. I will do all i can but rely on God i will 100% & bind & cast too grin grin

Sister no offence but please this is not an issue of coming for or against.
If we look deeper, we'd realise that this death and a million others could be prevented if we did the right thing. Our over reliance on spirituality and superstition is our greatest undoing.
God isn't a magician. [/quote]
