Aiteo Oppression In Niger Delta by BEGBESU: 11:23am On Feb 16, 2017 |
It has come to our notice that AITEO Eastern Exploration and Production Company Ltd led by Mrs. Jigo, the procurement and contract manager, are planning to bring back militancy into the creeks of Niger Delta by sponsoring some persons to destroy the peace and harmony between brothers in our communities. The Black Egbesu gathered that the said Mrs. Jigo had refused to renew the surveillance contracts giving to our brothers to secure pipelines and oil installation facilities in the community, rather she is seeking for one unqualified and inexperienced man called George Okuro, whom is rumoured to be her secret lover, to take over the job. AITEO actions are undermining the on-going hard work of the acting President, Prof Yemi Osimbajo, who is on a mission to bring peace and lasting solutions to the Niger Delta people. If by this warning AITEO Eastern Exploration and Production Company does not desist from their ill plans we The Black Egbesu Confraternity shall heed the cry of our brothers and step in. AITEO is an illegal company drilling our oil and destroying our land, we will blow up the Trunk Lines (NCTL) in Rivers and Bayelsa and their oil facilities in the Niger Delta. We are not seeking negotiation with anyone, AITEO should do the needful and stop the hatred there are about spreading in our communities NOW.

It will be nice to get the facts straight once and for all. When Aiteo purchased the oil wells and assets from Shell, were the surveillance contracts discontinued? Were they not operational till the company suffered extensive losses at your hands. You were bunkering yet you still wanted to be paid for not performing your surveillance obligations as stated in the contracts awarded to you people. You are making threats and we don't doubt that you are deadly but what will it profit you to gain the world and lose your souls. It is within the company's right to choose who works for them especially if they feel you have not done well enough. Why don't you reach out to the company and see if you can reach a compromise. Thank you 1 Like |

This is an act of intimidation. How can an organization that's trying so hard to bring back peace and unity in the region be planning such? When they know it will affect the pump price. If you are having problem with the renewal of your surveillance contract, then check yourself and stop trying to intimidate the organization. 1 Like |

BEGBESU: Hello Black Egbesu, Nigeria is bigger than you guy's and be mindful that all that you do with wickedness in secret will someday be out in the open someday. Let's put some fact out right here, (1) AITEO is not an illegal company as you have wrongfully claimed, for no Illegal company would be able to operate at that scale in Nigeria least to say buying out Shell's oil blocs in Nigeria. (2) What are your proofs that the contract to man the pipelines was taken off you or is about to be taken off you. Checks have shown that AITEO is only seeking a second layer of security in addition to your service which collaboratively should help forestall continuous crude oil theft. (3) Talking of peace and harmony in Niger-Delta, by maintaining a Shell contract with you; AITEO have displayed utmost commitment to that peace stated and the fact that the contract still remains unhindered is common proof. However, the onus is you guy's to come out open with your fears are and what your intentions truly are. Let's be mindful that as a nation in this perilous times all we should be seeking is growth and development and not selfish destruction and anarchy. |

It’s always very disheartening when I find reactions to grievances that border on threats and violence. We are in a democracy and individuals and groups are free to voice their discontent. But I wonder how justified is the vitriolic attack on Aiteo Group as an ‘illegal’ company out to destroy the communities in the Niger Delta. If Aiteo was truly illegal, why then did the militants in question sign a contract with them to secure pipelines and oil installation facilities in the first place? A contract is only valid if both parties mutually agree. If truly one of the parties has decided that it does not want to proceed, I wonder why that justifies bombing oil installations in an already troubled region. If peace and equity are the intent of the Black Egbesu as claimed, the group would not resort to threats to oil installations which would certainly cost lives. After all, an employer is free to terminate the contract of the employed for justifiable reasons. I don’t intend to hold brief for any of the aggrieved parties, but my checks have revealed that Aiteo is one of Africa’s major players in the exploration and distribution of energy with offices in Lagos, the UK and Geneva. I find it hard to believe that a company with such a pedigree would deliberately stoke the embers of violence and carnage in the troubled Niger Delta region. Let’s give peace a chance in this country and resolve grievances amicably. |

Ghost001: I still repeat: these Black Egbesu guys are hopeless. They are threatening fire and brimstone against a company that is carrying out its lawful business, meanwhile their own sect which is populated by criminals, are the truly unlawful ones. Tomorrow, their elders will come out in the media to cry of neglect and abandoned projects in the region, by wailing about how their region is still underdeveloped. How will it not remain underdeveloped when miscreants like these, are taking the law into their own hands? Without peace or security, how can there be development? The Niger-Delta people are the architects of their own misfortunes, in many cases. And this is just one of the classic examples that show how they shoot themselves in the foot! 2 Likes |

gbengaadeleye12: Very well said brother... Our problem in this country is that we are all just too self-serving to consider what is right or wrong when making decisions. I have taken my time to thoroughly read through the piece posted by this so called Black Egbesu and i must say i'm completely appalled by their threats. AITEO is neither my friend or enemy but one thing must be well stated here; Sabotaging AITEO and putting national assets, infrastructure and income on the line due to selfish gains of a few crooked individual should be completely abhorred. How did we as a nation arrive here? how did we just completely turn into tummy serving monsters who careless what may go wrong while trying to feed a selfish ego and greed? when will our Niger-Delta brothers realize that in the event of continuous economic sabotage their brothers, uncles, sisters, friends and even their immediate family will reap from the spill-overs. In the interest of peace and the continuous co-existence i'll advice they shelve any form of hostility while seeking ways to amicably solve the impasse. |

oddymc: The truth is that, all of this threat is based on a suspicion. I need to know something clearly.... At what point did they realize that they have been pushed out of the contract and why? if they can sincerely answer these questions then we'll all be better for it. |

It's not right to assume anyone is guilty without some form of trial. Someone comes online makes a claim and an intelligent chap like you would not bother to ascertain the veracity of that claim or otherwise. Presumption of innocence, my friend, that's the enlightened thing to do. There is no such attempt by Aiteo to divide and rule as you claim. Rather Aiteo is only interested in protecting her assets as they've been betrayed severally by people who they pay, yet who sabotage them. If your security guard keeps opening up your home to robbers, at some point as a rational being, u will change your security guard. Does the fact that your security guard is from the same local govt as your former security guard, imply that u are dividing and ruling. Abagworo: |

GETTING THE FACTS STRAIGHT Aiteo Aiteo Group is an integrated, global-focused Nigerian energy conglomerate founded in February 2008. The company is the successor entity to Sigmund Communnecci Limited. The company has significant business interests in oil and gas exploration and production; bulk petroleum storage; refining of petroleum products; trading, marketing and supply as well as power generation and distribution. Its subsidiaries are Aiteo Eastern Exploration and Production Company Limited (AEEPCo) and Aiteo Power. The Group is owned by Benedict Peters. Its business activities are conducted from several Nigerian locations, including international financial capitals; United States, United Kingdom, Switzerland and Brussels. Background Founded in 1999, Sigmund Communnecci was a petroleum products supply and trading company. It owned and operated a petroleum storage terminal in Abonemma Wharf. To fully explore growing business opportunities in the petroleum upstream sector in Nigeria, In February 2008, Sigmund Communecci was restructured, re-positioned and re-branded to ensure it sustainably builds the capacity to diversify globally, attract and nurture top talent, leveraging on strategic alliances and technology. OPERATIONS Downstream Operations: Aiteo owns and operates petroleum storage facilities in Lagos and Port Harcourt., including the Abonnema Storage Terminal (“Port Harcourt Tank Farm”), with total capacity of over 110 Million Liters. It constructed a jetty to accommodate growing vessel traffic to the Port Harcourt Terminal, which accommodates up to 30,000 metric tons dead weight. in the first quarter of 2011, Aiteo was one of the 32 companies issued permits to import petrol, under the Refined Products Exchange Agreement. Aiteo Group was among the Nigerian companies awarded oil lifting contracts, in the Federal Government's bid, through the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, to award nearly half of 2012/2013 oil lifting contracts worth $40 billion to indigenous companies and in the process, promoting local content on one hand and "downsizing contracts awarded to international oil traders. In its own right and also at the request of Duke Oil, the company entered into a Management and Operation Agreement with Duke Oil ”to operate and manage its Crude and Product Exchange Agreement" with NNPC and Pipelines Product Marketing Company (PPMC) from February 2011; an operation which lasted until December 2014. These were landmark transactions in the Nigerian Oil sector. Upstream Operations: 'Aiteo is one of the indigenous Nigerian companies that took advantage of the exit of major international oil companies, like Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Shell that put up their Nigerian onshore licences for sale. In 2014, Aiteo, leading an indigenous consortium, successfully bid for and acquired Shell’s OML29 and Nembe Creek Trunk Line for $2.7 billion. With its acquisition of Royal Dutch Shell Plc's 30% stake as well as Total SA of France and Eni of Italy minority stake in OML29 and the Nembe Creek Trunk Line, Aiteo holds the controlling 45% stake in both assets, for which it paid $569 million for Total SA's stake. OML 29 includes Nembe, Santa Barbara and Okoraba oil fields. According to Shell, "combined production averaged around 43,000 barrels per day of oil equivalent in 2014". "Oil and gas industry investment analysts says Aiteo Group’s investment is a demonstration of its commitment to the continuous growth and development of the country’s oil and gas sector in accordance with the law enacted in April 2010." Aiteo holds a controlling equity stake holding of 85% in the consortium that acquired OML29. The other members of the consortium include Tempo Energy Resources - 10% and Taleveras - 5%. Power Sector: Aiteo's interest in the Power sector is operated through its subsidiary; Aiteo Power and Gas which has Dr. Ransom Owan as its Group Managing Director. Dr. Owan was the pioneer Chairman & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). An Aiteo led consortium was the sole bidder for the Alaoji Power Plant . It won the bid with a $902 million fresh bid, after its first bid did not meet the plant's reserved price. Having made a bid of $312.5 million, Aiteo was the reserve bidder. and was shortlisted for the following plants: Egbema Generation Company, Olorunsogo Generation Company and Omoku Generation Company. The same consortium became the preferred bidder for Benin and Calabar Generation Company's, with a bid of $580 million and $625 million respectively. @Abagworo, (1) Who is arming who and who is been disarmed? (2) if you ask someone to watch over your property and in return the person damages the property after paying him or her, will you want to have anything doing with that same person? (3) A farmer hands over a tuber of yam to a goat and promised bring back palatable pastures for the goat everytime he goes to the farm and on returning he founds out that more than half of his tuber of yam has been eaten by the goat, will you blame the farmer if he hands over the rest of the yam to a cat or a dog to watch over? Thanks. 1 Like |
