Please house I need answers, want to know my chances if I should go ahead with my trv application.

Is Graduate Diploma in a University treated by CIC same as college PGD and PGC for visa?

Or should I write the school to refuse the offer? I am just confused here.

1soul:
Good day house,

Please I applied for Master Rural Development Brandon University, only to see my acceptance letter that I was admitted into G.DIP Rural Development degree program.

And from what I am seeing here most Diplomas hardly get Visa approval. Though my undergraduate is in Urban and Regional Planning and I work with rural loan facility monitoring unit of my bank.

Pls I Need advice.

Nothing from my side, from my personal survey of their admission timeline, admission decision is likely to start first week in March till about mid April. I didn't apply to the Applied Science and Engineering faculty though.

Good day house, please I have a question. I've studied building technology in Nigeria and have my HND cert but I want to study computer science in a Canadian university. Someone was telling me to go for masters but what I really want to study is computer science. I really need the advice of the house. Which university will be very good for computer science with their tuition b/w $5000-$8000 annually?

bro i gave you clue on this your 2nd application after your first refusal and with your gcms case note i read of which I now see has helped reduce some refusal factors to just ''PURPOSE OF VISIT'' but you later cut me off or deleted me on whatsapp/from your phone and had your way. meanwhile i knew the embedded system is not closely related to your mechanical engineering and/or employment but has just partial relationship to your job activity of which i told you then but you said it is and progressed with your application.I had no choice than to let you go ahead. sorry for the delay. change that pgd program or you try coursework masters program in less competitive schools in canada

Research based. Yes. 2 years 25k and 21k minimum of departmental funding. 13k first year fees and 3k continuing fees.

Do you and everyone think that is sufficient and it's source, departmental (TA) is enough? What should I watch out for in visa app?

Bro that's good. Happy for you. I'm not well informed on the living standards in Calgary, but I've spoken to a few people in Waterloo Ontario and Edmonton Alberta, and I believe that your funding is well enough at both places.

If you're given 25k, you have 12k left after tuition for the first year, which means you have 1k to spare monthly. That's enough to get by as long as you aren't looking to make a luxurious living.

I'm happy for you bro. Kudos!

If I may ask, did you secure the accepting supervisor before application?

Good day,
Do you have any experience whatsoever in computer science? And I don't mean just don't programming experience (as some people often think that's what CS is about).
Ate you comfortable with topics like Algorithms, Operating Systems, Networking, Databases, AI/ML?
If you aren't comfortable with all mentioned, do you atleast have expertise in one of them?

For that tuition you mentioned, you'd be aiming for some of the more quality schools in Canada like UBC, SFU, Alberta, UVic, etc.
And I must tell you, Computer Science (is one of) the most competitive field in terms of gaining admission. Even if you had solid experience, your chances are still hazy at best.

So you might want to reconsider, maybe go in for a course you have a better background in or extend your budget and go in for one of those schools witch are scarcely competitive like Lakehead, Windsor, Guelph etc
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by abdulkabirtobi(m): 10:20am On Feb 18, 2017
As part of efforts to ease the mounting foreign exchange challenges in the country, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) will soon increase the disbursement of forex to meet demands for payment of school fees for Nigerian students abroad, medical expenses, personal and business travel allowances.
LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered yesterday that the apex bank will henceforth give weekly allocations of $1million to Deposit Money Banks (DMB) in the country, while the banks would be expected to sell to their customers at the rate of N375 per dollar.
The National Economic Council (NEC) had on Thursday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, urged the CBN to immediately review the exchange policy.
Council members had expressed concern over the current situation of the exchange rate and called for an urgent review of the forex policy, especially the gap between inter-bank’s and the parallel market’s rates.
A reliable source in CBN told LEADERSHIP Weekend yesterday that the apex bank is currently perfecting plans to effect weekly allocations of $1million for the DMB.
In recent times, the CBN, in meeting the dollar demand of the country, particularly for sectors that are crucial to economic growth and development, had regularly sold foreign exchange at the forwards end of the interbank market to clear the backlog.
Last month, the apex bank sold $660 million in three- and five- month currency forwards at an auction. Banks were asked to bid in a special currency auction targeted at clearing backlog of dollar obligations of manufacturing, airlines, agriculture and petroleum sector.
This was the first major dollar sales to the key sector by the CBN this year in a bid to spur growth and revive the nation’s economy, which slipped into recession last year due to currency crisis necessitated by drop in global oil prices.
The CBN during the week had released the total amount of dollar allocation to customers in December last year and January this year. Together, banks in the country had sold $2.83 billion for utilization in the critical sectors of the economy such as manufacturing, agriculture, raw materials, aviation, petroleum products amongst others in line with the 60:40 foreign exchange policy.
The CBN under the new 60:40 foreign exchange policy prioritises forex sales to manufacturers, agriculture, plant and machinery, critical raw materials, among others, and requires banks to publish on a weekly basis the volume and value of foreign exchange that they sell, who they sell it to and for what purpose.
The banks, having sourced their foreign exchange from the CBN, International Oil Companies (IOCs) and other autonomous sources allocate it to their customers based on the 60:40 basis after it has been verified that the foreign exchange is not to be used for any of the 41 items that has been removed from the eligible forex list.
According to the apex bank, priority was given to manufacturing, raw material and agriculture above other demands as its disbursements are targeted at employment generating and wealth creating sectors of the economy.
Bureau de Change (BDC) operators also receive $50,000 weekly allocation from the proceeds of International Money Transfer (IMT) in an effort to reduce the pressure on the naira at the BDC end of the forex market.
While the BDCs get dollars at N381 to the dollar, they sell to customers who present their documentations at rates between N399 and N400 to the dollar.
Although allowing BDCs to access IMT forex proceeds had stabilised the price of the dollar at that end of the market, the challenge still lingers at the parallel (black) market where the value of the naira has decline to N515 to the dollar.

I think this should bring back our Form A, a good one here

i uploaded an unofficial transcript and i am yet to send the official transcript however, they stated in their website that applications can be assessed with unofficial transcripts. should i wait further or send the official transcripts asap?

i applied to 3 schools and dont see it wise to obtain transcripts for each of those schools. it costs 35k for each transcript
i need help pls...thanks
we are in the same boat,I applied this week to UNB (M.ENG Electrical) and I got that same status message, though I feel maybe its an automated message, because it is clearly written on their site that UNB won't require an official transcript till you've gotten Admission.
Please do share the feedback from your inquiry.
