#NBArank Rising Stars: 1-5
5. Kyrie Irving
*.
Cleveland Cavaliers | PG
*.
Age: 24 | @KyrieIrving
*.
Drafted No. 1 in 2011
Stats & Info:Since the start of the past season, including the regular season and playoffs, nearly 50 players have attempted at least 15 shots in the final minute of one-possession games. Irving is the only one who has made more than half of his attempts (10-for-19).
4. Joel Embiid
*.
Philadelphia 76ers | C
*.
Age: 22 | @JoelEmbiid
*.
Drafted No. 3 in 2014
Stats & Info:The only rookie in NBA history to average more points per 36 minutes than Embiid is Wilt Chamberlain. The Sixers have the scoring margin of a 54-win team with Embiid on the floor and that of a 15-win team with him off the floor.
3. Karl-Anthony Towns
*.
Minnesota Timberwolves | C
*.
Age: 21 | @KarlTowns
*.
Drafted No. 1 in 2015
Stats & Info:Towns is on the verge of becoming the second player age 21 or younger to average 23 points and 11 rebounds per game, joining Shaquille O'Neal. Towns has the fourth-best offensive Real Plus-Minus of any post player in the NBA, behind DeMarcus Cousins, Nikola Jokic and Kevin Love.
2. Giannis Antetokounmpo
*.
Milwaukee Bucks | SF
*.
Age: 22 | @Giannis_An34
*.
Drafted No. 15 in 2013
Stats & Info:Antetokounmpo leads the Bucks in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals. Since blocks and steals became official stats, the only four players who have led their teams in all five categories are LeBron James, Kevin Garnett, Scottie Pippen and Dave Cowens. Antetokounmpo would be the youngest in that group to do it.
1. Anthony Davis
*.
New Orleans Pelicans | PF
*.
Age: 23 | @AntDavis23
*.
Drafted No. 1 in 2012
Stats & Info:Davis is on pace to join David Robinson and Hakeem Olajuwon as the only players in NBA history to average 20 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and one steal per game in four of their first five seasons, and he has a chance to become the first player to average 28 PPG and 12 RPG since Shaquille O'Neal in 2000-01.

2. Lakers ($3 billion)

3. Warriors ($2.6 billion)

4. Bulls ($2.5 billion)

5. Celtics ($2.2 billion)

6. Clippers ($2 billion)

7. Nets ($1.8 billion)

8. Rockets ($1.65 billion)

10. Heat ($1.35 billion)

As for the Cavs, they lost $54 million to luxury tax last season, despite winning the championship. I wonder what the impending loss would be for this year. I just hope BRON BRON does not leave the Cavs broke by the time he retires..

I still don't understand why many people don't talk much about Scott Pippen when hailing Michael Jordan as the G.O.A.T. They often make it sound as if Jordan won 6 'ships with the help of nobody.

lets keep watching na. if they can even come out of the west. clippers are just trying to stay uninjured into the post season. and they match up very well with warriors. spurs are playing possum. donlittle how market for mavericks grin
the only capable of stopping my warriors now is probably Cleveland because am hoping to see a repeat of the finals against but one thing for sure the warriors won't throw away a 3-1 lead with durant in the side . warriors coming out of west is the easiest task of them all as they are already conference champion.

Tah! Dey there, dey dream grin
You were the best team in the regular season last year and you were almost sent out in the conference finals by OKC. This year, I see the spurs/rockets dragging you to a 7-game series.
And you know in a 7-game series, anything can happen.

valuation has little to do with the teams or players. for any sport, or just about any other business, you can always expect new york and LA at the top of the pile. Followed by the usual suspects...old money from Boston and Chicago from the northeast/midwest, new money in silicon valley then everybody else...i love how texas likes to play me too. if not for oyel money..smh

cleveland, bron or no bron will never be top 10 most profitle of valuable, even if the allstar team in playing there.

I get it large market-small market. 2k logic.
It works until you ask yourself why Sacramento kings isn't in the top 10.

And what's it with James playing down the rivalry with Curry? Abeg there is rivalry jor, hot one sef. Maybe not at the level of 'Bird-Magic as he said, but there surely is a rivalry.

The NBA has to figure out a way to attract it's superstars to the dunk contest; this year's was the worst in a long time. Even though it seems late, i thought BRON BRON should have given the dunk contest a shot.

My Solution: The fans should vote for players they want to watch in these competitions, and players who refuse to participate, would forfeit their all star slot.

I think the 3 point contest was fairly represented, however, i would love to watch S. Curry, K. Love, Durant, Harden, Redick compete next season.

Playing down a rivalry with Curry is Bron Bron's subtle way of saying he is not convinced Curry has earned the right or acclaimed status to be his rival, especially after last seasons triumph over the Warriors.

lol. The dunk contest isn't impressive at all. Especially Deandre, the dunk he puts up in his regular seaaon games are more interesting than this. There was no energy and exictment in the contest at all. Even steph couldn't hit a 3pointer for charity.

The most interesting part was the skill challenge.

Lool. I think the rivalry is between both teams and not between The king and Curry. Curry isnt even the hottest player in his team, He's not an all round player, a whole lot of people would even pick John Wall over Curry

Curry can't even be compared to anyone back in the days, He doesnt seem to look like a shooter who would shoot for long like Ray Allen or Reggie Miller.

And i don't even think a Cleveland-Warriors rivalry would be taken serious like the Celtics-lakers only if they can make it happen for 6 or more years. Bird and Magic reached the height of their racial signifying many white fans sided with the Celtics and black fans with the Lakers. That was one hell of a rivalry

That was the first impression I got watching him speak, I sensed a tinge of pride but then as he went on, he laboured to clarify himself.
The playoffs would tell the true story.
