@Eraytee, mijavid, platypelloid, penitential, Perotti, everyone. Thank you for the goodwill message. Megziflips: Thanks. Yes. Securing a supervisor was a strong criteria and I got two supervisors there. But I was finally given one out of two, as stated on my unconditional admission letter. freeradical: Thank you for the advise. It is an honor to be uplifted. On this case, His favour finally locate and will keep locating me. You will be favoured. Pray for it more. TheBatman:Geography. No publication but research experience I got by working in a Prof lab. 4.50 CGPA. 4.57 last two years. martineverest:Thank you Lord for another good news. Let the favour and grace keep pouring in. |

Osemigho: Yes it is. Graduate Diploma Rural Development, Brandon University. Though I applied for Master Rural Development. M major concern is the spate of refusal sinonemous with Diploma related courses that I saw here last year. It scares me and I don't want to waste my time and money! |

Simeon244: Shade mode . Thank you. You are there? If yes, hopefully. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Osemigho: 8:37pm On Feb 18, 2017 |
1soul: Refusal is mostly advance diploma which is lower than Bsc and PGC irrelevant to UG study. If you UG program carry same name as this one, work on your finance and home tie, and make sure they are very strong. |

@Osemigho The Canadian embassy website explicitly states that you need a total of CAD10K plus tuition fee for a year a as proof of funds. It also stated that it can be proof of funding paid from within Canada if you have a scholarship or are in a Canadian-funded educational program. My question is, having been granted full funding do you still need to provide SOA or will the funding letter suffice? http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how-documents.asp

DatechMan:Your choice and intended master program is good and in line with both your work experience and degree but firstly, you must try to get admission into your proposed program first before you start considering financial aspect of your study permit application. This is because, a number of factors will be considered before you can reach your budget and one of them is your TUITION. So get admitted first and then you can proceed from there. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Nobody: 8:51pm On Feb 18, 2017 |
DatechMan: On that budget, your best bet would be to apply to a research based masters program and hopefully you can secure funding. Also from my experience I don't think you'd easily find a masters in Telecommunication program. What you should be looking for is a masters In Electrical/Computer Engineering program with a specialization in Telecommunications (or something closely related like signal processing). Note: For Queens University, the Telecommunications is an area under Computer Science rather. |

Osemigho: My UG is Urban and Regional Planning I work with a bank, rural facility monitoring precisely I am married with a one month old daughter - home tie Wifey works with a bank too. $2550: The cost implication is very affordable I must say. See screenshot.

Megziflips: Thank you for the advise and pix. I will definitely be adding statement of account considering that I need to show I can afford plane ticket and few weeks accommodation and feeding before funding is paid. |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by DatechMan(m): 9:05pm On Feb 18, 2017 |
Megziflips: Thanks for your response sir Yes, you are right. From my research Telecommunication is usually an option under Electronic and Computer Engineering Department in most Canadian Schools (ref. UofS, UofM) I have submitted a pre-aplication form at UofS. Any more pieces of advice. Ciao |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by DatechMan(m): 9:13pm On Feb 18, 2017 |
Austinpee4: Thanks for your response sir. From my research the avg min tuition for the Msc program is 11k or 6k per year. (ref. UofS, UofM, UofV) Are you suggesting I should concentrate on getting admission first? Regards |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Austinpee4: 9:17pm On Feb 18, 2017 |
Curlie:Madam, from your profile and especially the bold statements, this intention may be a very dicey step to make as it will be quite difficult to convience a visa officer why a sudden interest in the same program and at the same level(even though there is little disparity between both) after a good working experience while also considering your age and family situation. Also, you will have to prove to them how you intend to cope for 4 years with 2kids and family issues too. In this case, the shorter the year(s) of program, the better your chances. This is not to discourage you but just to see reasons from a perspective that is more realistic. I think you should apply for a higher degree instead. That way, you would be showing academic progression and also career advancement. 8 years of work experience in itself and in all sense can get one well at the TOP level of management and any academic intentions should project that path or even higher. Other circumstances(kids, sponsorship) surrounding your study intention should come up when you have the major highlight of your profile as presented here tackled. It's clearly your PURPOSE OF VISIT. Please, do well by addressing it before you eventually apply for a study permit. All the best to you. |

Osemigho:my humble self and a selfless fellow is saying Congrats on stage 1, for the stage 2,if your program comes with full funding, you will have to explicitly write a special LOE for the funding part for the VO to have clearer understanding than incorporating it in you study plan/sop. Roughly to be on the safer side, you can show a statement of account of a sponsor with regular income and a closing balance of at most 2.5m despite the funding to at least pass a message to the VO that your flight money and at least 2months accommodation, feeding for few months wouldn't be a problem and while the sponsor is still left with some back in the account for his personal expenses and dependents if married. Congrats once more.. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by Austinpee4: 9:20pm On Feb 18, 2017 |
DatechMan:Yes! When you get it, you will know the exact tuition for your program so your financial documents for the study permit will then be built around that and other requirement of CIC. |
