Fire service needed ... reinforcement needed, those fire fighters on ground have no water, as usual.

Hope no life was lost sha It seems Lagos State emergency response management effectiveness doesn't extend to its fire service department .....too many cases of poorly combated fire incidents abound in Lagos I hope the burnt properties are properly insured sha and the company is up to date on their premiums. ..because Nigerian insurance companies have all sorts of tricks to avoid paying insurance claims |

Na wa oo Why won't fire service have water ? Were they planning to use their urine ? Most times they have water but once they see that the fire is out of hand. They preserve the water for containment. So the fire will not spread beyond the damage it has already done because even if they empty their tank on the burning fire it makes no difference. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

buygala:The Lagos State Government has given fire service equipment to Lagos State Emergency Management Agency. The personnel who will handle this equipment are the one being trained and delaying the commencement of the fire operation team from LASEMA,immediately they have completed their training their work will start immediately. For the Fire Incident that just happened at Oshodi, LASEMA are already there with the General Manager himself on ground to supervise the activities of his personnel. |

This is unfortunate. That fire truck needs reinforcement, just one truck of water cannot control that fire. However, kudos to them for the speedy response. |
Re: Fire Outbreak At Rida Plastics, Barracks Oshodi by fkj950ax(m): 10:38am On Feb 19, 2017 |
AntiWailer: Not entirely correct. There is a limit to quantity of water a fire truck can carry. It uses pumps to discharge this limited water and so within 20mins, its empty. What then do you do with an empty truck? The best option is for fire hydrants be built all over the state. Until then, there is nothing the fire service can do. |

Are fire fighters super human. That's why it's a law that every company must have fire fighting equipment on ground. Fire is best prevented than being fought. |

This type fire water won't quench oo! I think the best that could be done is to try and isolate it as much as possible and allow it to burn out. Fire prevention always better than cure. |
