All over the world, the security of public officials is taken with utmost seriousness. And optimal security costs money. Public officials are hard targets for criminals. Would you want to see the brains of a governor splashed by assassin's bullets on the evening news? You call it lavish living while the security guys see it as not taking any chances in the protection of their principal. Do you know how much of tens of millions of dollars has been spent to keep Donald Trump and his family safe just within a month of ascension?

Whether he wants to stop or not is not the issue here.
