Hello Property experts!

Please i i have a question on POP finishing.

I intend painting my recently installed POP ceiling and the painter insists he must use White Satin paint.
His reason is that satin will resist dust, cobwebs and is water resistant.

My opinion is Satin is expensive and i intend using it on walls only while i intend to use white emulsion for the POP.

He's a professional yes, but not with POP ceiling.
What do you think?
Can someone assist please.

^^^ Please disregard, you are fine with white emulsion for your ceiling.

TLAX:

I used chinese door but regretted it as constant rain has damaged it. When replacing it in 2018 i will use fabricated steel doors.

Mai Gard opens gate and washes cars. Goes on easy errands like pay NEPA bill etc. Sweeping of compound is done by a lady cleaner.

So the Chinese doors were not steel?

mufutau55:

I used local iron door and made inside as comfortable as same as the room in the main building.
At present I dont know his duties as I have not hired one.

Hajji M.

No concern for overly comfortable?

Bros continue with your Idea of emulsion paint for your ceiling. Just use a quality one to avoid brush marks and ensure a sleek looking ceiling finish.

Evening people.

Are there any nairalander project constructed with flat roof? I am looking for some possible sample on here. I tried trawling using the search button but that wasn't of any help.

Kind point me to a thread on here or elsewhere.

Thanks in advance.

I would have thought the Chinese productions would be protected by rustproofing.

Some well made Turkey doors are better in that regard.

Flat or monoslope?

A monoslope would do just fine, just need to figure out how best to implement this as I am thinking of hiding the water storage tank in the roof as against having a steel frame structure erected on site.

Monoslope = https://www.nairaland.com/2362679/diy-construction-4-units-2-bedrooms

I did same on my two buildings so far but the main house will have cross hip roofing.

Regarding storing water on top of the house, I generally frown upon this as it can severely cause damage if a leak is left unchecked. I have a deck on top of my safe room that I can use to carry a water tank but I am still leery of this.

But Gbadexy is still here and have been supplying a lot of Nairalanders including myself.

For external areas like driveways and walkways, yes.

For some reason they refuse to go inside.

My tiler is going to do my garage as a pre test for the main house.

Shown are concrete countertops

Is this for real? Wasn't this cement like 2,400 last week? What will it takes for the people to revolt in this darn contraption called Nigeria?

Pallet price is N2,650-2,700. The good thing about cement price is you get information earlier than when the price will increase, where i get crazy is on iron rod they increase price unannounced. If u buy @ a rate now in the next couple of minutes another increase like 10k above is this not madness...?

cement is even 2700 in a retailer's shop now... I dont understand where this is heading. seems no one is even controlling them again. this is something we produce locally, why should there be an incessant increase like this?

Yes, we produce cement locally, Do we really have govt or price regulatory body in Nigeria? Capital NO.... the price will keep on increasing if you don't buy it now. We are in the dispensation of do it the way it pleases you.
