goldfish80: Obviously, you don't know anything about Tiago hence the rounabout talk talk. Firstly, you alluded he did not have a successful spell at Bourdeaux and he didn't get more than 700 minutes of game; Your assumptions are preposterous. Now, you are alluding once again that he was bundled from Bourdeaux straight to Liverpool U23. This is also preposterous. The facts showed that he was loaned to Aston Villa that played in the Premeir League last season, and don't tell me you expected Aston Villa to be relegated after all the spending at the beginning ot last season. It seeems you don't follow football, right? you are calling Aston Villa Rubbish. Seriouly, you don't know nader about the Premeirship. Sorry, no offence intended, just stating the obvious. Why he didn't play was due to injury and Liverpool recalled him back the season finished last season. Meaning he don't stay there throughout the whole season. He featured for Liverpool afterwards. How many Super Easgle defender worth 500k pounce? Why he didn't go back to Bourdeaux is simple because he loves England. That's all. When did Jaap Stam start coaching for him to have done so well i the Championship? You can never discredit his ability as coach because you wan prove point. Coaching and managerial career[edit] In 2011, Stam became an assistant coach for PEC Zwolle, a position he held for two seasons after Kieron Hogendoorn vacated the role. Following his stint with Zwolle, Stam took a three-year contract with Ajax as an assistant coach, and as defensive trainer starting in the 2013–14 Eredivisie season.[15] On 13 June 2016, Stam was appointed as manager of English Championship side Reading on an initial two-year contract.[16] |

forgiveness: Well let's say I know zero, absolutely nada like you said about football. But it's obvious you're doing a damn wack job teaching me football by trying to make me believe playing 12 games in a football season represents having a good season. In my limited football knowledge I know the Aston Villa team of last season were the worst side ever in the Premiership. A side which could only manufacture just 28 clear cut chances all season. A side which conceeded 65+ goals all season? Thiago Ilori for all the love you show him could not make 1 appearance for such a team is depressing to say the least. For someone who claims to know football to rate this kind of team is absolutely shocking to an olodo like me Prove to me that Bordeaux wanted Thiago back but he preferred signing for Championship side Reading. I challenged you to name CBs whom Stam have trained to stardom, since you want to play the all knowing Japp Stam card but you haven't or you couldn't Teacher no teach me nonsense 5 Likes |

Forgiveness, In most matters statistics are indicators not absolutes to rely on them entirely is misleading. Nobody knows anybody which gives this forum great credibility in my opinion. The things I say here I cannot say with my name attached to it without causing myself a whole heap of trouble if not downright litigation. Forget the stats. Some cold facts Klopp has limited contact with Ilori relying on reports from the U23 coaches. Liverpool fc training ground at Melwood is probably 7/8 miles away from the Kirkby training ground of the academy. So unless he proves himself credible and capable na U23 he go dye rotten. You may think I don't know much, because I am anonymous. But I do match and player analysis and I have seen Ilori play live several times. And for me he was well packaged. He simply not good enough for Eagles, end d tory. Forget Stam you don't know what went on to make the deal happen and or the clauses and intricacies of the contract with the appended payment terms. I remember when Wenger was conned to buy the useless Francis Jeffers the rest is history. Stam buying him for £10 or £10 million doesn't make him good this is football business. He has been well over taken not by one but by several teenagers who were literally in thier nappies when he came to Liverpool. Sorry to say but as Igbo man go say, leave matter, Bad Market By the way spent the last week at PSV infact still here now, one of Stam's former clubs you could say the club that made him and with a few of thier coaches and thier approach is quite interesting with regard to these matters. One other matter Villa where the whipping boys of the premiership last season and of the FA cup by championship sides and even lower. Basically Villa were Rubbish last season and deserved to go down and they are know where near to coming up lying 17th in the championship and 6 points off relegation. 4 Likes |

This proposed formation by owngoal. I like the backline and midfield. It just reminded us that Leone Balogun also plays RB. But how can they replace Victor Moses with Sone Aluko. Aluko can also play RWF but in that position he is not in same class as Victor Moses. If we must try Aluko we should give him a short at the AM position and my suggested front line in this case would look like: ...................Iheanacho Iwobi..............Aluko........V. Moses. However, my preferred forwards line is still: .............Iheanacho Etebo.......Iwobi........V. Moses. Good morning all. 2 Likes

Icon4s: My preference is for your first formation Aluko has a quite a bit more in my opinion as well as experience at the top level. Iwobi is just coming in and yes lots of ability and potential but Aluko is a lot more experienced but with more scoring prowess and guile. That little bit extra that mental resilience that wins matches when the going gets tough. I would like to add another option in attack sometimes Iheanacho lacks presence and cannot impose himself on defenders if we need to get physical and or you are playing with a lone striker. I wish we had a Balotelli, a Drogba (but with speed) to carry the forward line. Possibly a fully fit Anichebe (injury prone so not sure) for me KC is a false no.9. 1 Like |

komekn: Iwobi brings more creativity and versatility. Yes I agree that Aluko is more experienced and may also be more resilient. But when the opposing defense gets tough and too hard to break-down a very creative number 10 like Iwobi is what you need. Talking about scoring abilities I would not just give it to Aluko. I know u came to ur conlusion abt his goals scoring prowess from that 2-2 draw against South Africa. But remember Iwobi opened scoring for Nigeria in this WC Qualifiers. 3 Likes |

Icon4 Have you followed this Aluko properly this guy is more skilful than Iwobi forget where he is playing at Fulham. If this guy is in the Eagles he will give us multiple dimensions and he can score. Forget his stats put him in Arsenal now and he will be hailed like the new Bergkamp. Watch him, I have over a long period blighted by injury somewhat and being in carpenter teams with emphasis on endeavour not guile and trickery he has been limited. But this new Manager at Fulham Slaves has got them playing slick, technical and effective football with Aluko central to thier resurgence. Watched them live a few month ago at Blackburn and it was like watching Barcelona. Admittedly thier limited squad couldn't cope with a fired up Tottenham looking for revenge after two defeats. Fulham's left back is 16 years old tells you something about squad strength. 1 Like |

komekn: I know Omatsone Aluko very well. I saw him play for Nigeria's Flying Eagles at Egypt 2009. I saw him in full view all through when he played for Hull City. He is in the Championship now and so I have not watched much of him but his full seasons wilth Hull before they got relegated was enough for me to fully know Sone Aluko. He may have more dribbling skills but he does not not have the Iwobi's kind of ball control, he does not have Iwobi's ball passing ability, Iwobi also has an excellent eye for locating his players who are position. Aluko does a lot of dribbling yes but what is usually the success rates? Excellent ball control/first touch and excellent passing ability are better and easier ways to outwit ur opposition than laborious dribblings. |

Put Iwobi in that carpenter strength and endeavour team and see how difficult it is to play triangles and 1/2s. It's a lot easier to play tip tap with quality players around you. I have watched both recently and regularly and live as well. I know the head of Rec. at Fulham and the reports about Aluko are just well great. Apart from what I have seen. Please take an indepth look at him in his current resurgent form, you will be surprisingly impressed, he isn't fair weather either. I know a lot of these Chelsea, City and Arsenal type kids when the going gets tough they can't cut it. I'm not saying Iwobi can't cut just that Aluko has been cutting it in all kinds of environments. |

@ Forgiveness, Starting with your Left and Right Wing players. I would personally put them in a pool of wingers. Reason being in today's football, wingers alternate positions during the course of a game. They also alternate with the central attacking midfielders. You listed in this pool Victor Moses, Simon Moses, Isaac Success, Ahmed Musa, Imoh Ezekiel, Sone Aluko and Noel Joel Sarenren Bazee . I would add to this pool Alex Iwobi and Oghenekaro Etebo (these are wingers too). My starting wings choices if Iwobi would play the AM role would be Etebo and Moses. If Etebo plays the midfield role he played against Algeria then Iwobi and Moses are by far my first choice. Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon come next in my rating. I would personally want to include Isaac Success in the pool of strikers and would prefer to see Aluko in the central AM position. As for Imoh the squad is too loaded for him to break in for now and as for Noel Bazee, I am not the type that rate or hype a player I dnt know so well. |

@ Forgiveness For your center forward position. You put in this pool: Aaron Samuel, Brown Ideye, Sadiq Umar, Olanrewaju Kayode, Fenan Adi. I would add to this pool Odion Ighalo and Kelechi Iheanacho. In a typical 4-5-1 formation which we know the national team has come to be very comfortable and conversant with only one center forward plays. My pick here is Kelechi Iheanacho. I place Ideye and Ighalo as joint second choices but closely followed by Kayode. Then Adi comes next. Sadiq is young and may not be able to compete with the older boys for now. But he is for future consideration. I put him in the same pool with Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Ezeh and Kingsley Michael. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 12:17pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
@ Forgiveness, For your Attacking Midfielder/Supporting strikers. You put in this pool: Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Oghenekaro Etebo, Abdul Ajagun, Rabiu Ibrahim. I would also include Sone Aluko and Mikel Obi as part of the pool of AMs. I have already picked Iheanacho as my preferred CF and Etebo as one of my first choice wingers. Alex Iwobi would be my first pick here. Mikel has done creditably well in that AM position but I still prefer him in a more central midfield role. Sone Aluko was my first choice AM before Oliseh came and brought Silvester Igboun. I was one of those that seriously complained abt Aluko's exclusion, But Iwobi is here now and Aluko has to be second choice for me. If Etebo is to play this role I would also prefer him over Aluko. As for Ajagun, the comepetition for that position is such that and I dnt see Rohr or any of the coaches considering him for now. The fact also that all the players listed in this pool can play that AM role in addition to 1 or 2 other positions. Iwobi, Aluko, Mikel, Iheanacho are Etebo all utility players that bring more to the team apart from the AM role. Rabiu Ibrahim is like a kabu-kabu that you kick start and when you engage to drive it switches off again. No chance for him. We typically play a 4-5-1 and if we need to switch to a 4-4-2 we consider a supporting striker. This is a position Iheanacho, Success and Etebo can play wella. Ahmed Musa can also play as an SS. |

@ Forgiveness, For ur pool of Central Midfielders u listed: Mikel Obi, Raheem Lawal (u were trying so had to market him . We need for that. We knw him very well), Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu. I wonder why you did nt mention Ovie Edjarie. I would put Onazi in the pool of DMFs. This is a position Nigeria is currently not much gifted in. Yes, there is a Mikel but currently in Mikel's absence I dnt think Raheem or Ogu would be a capable replacement. I hope Kelechi Nwakali leaves up to expectations. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Icon4s(m): 12:53pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
@ Forgiveness, For ur pool of DMFs u listed: Wilfred Ndidi, Mikel Agu, Anderson Esiti and Ryan Sanusi. I will add Ogenyi Onazi to this pool. Onazi and Ndidi stand tall from this list. Who ever becomes favorite to pick the starting shirt from the two would depend on how the rest of their season would go. Mikel Agu and Esiti are also good players but I dnt see them in the same capacity as Ndidi and Onazi. As for Ryan Sanusi, I dnt rate a player I dnt know so well. |

Good enough both Balogun and Omeruo can also play RB. Kenedy Otigba, though I pushed for his inclusion into the Keshi's team to Brazil 2014. I cannot rate Idow and Ebuehi yet. Let them feature in any of the friendlies first. As for between Shehu and Musa. I would go for Shehu who is a more tested player and has also done creditably well. Musa Mohammed is still developing. Nura Abdulahi, well, he belongs to the group of John Lazarus and Sincere Seth. RBs of the future. 1 Like |
