MizMyColi:UBA MasterCard and Africard only work at 12am -12:02 am... Apart from this period, you won't be able to use the UBA ATM card till the next 12am... Get Access bank Visa card and experience smooth business.... Based on laptop you want to buy, from experience, their own issue is on battery. I have used AliExpress laptop but battery was the only issue and it's unbranded in nature.. So, it's advisable to buy branded laptops from eBay and co. Thanks. 1 Like |

I heard that CBN has now pegged dollar at N375/$ PTA and school abroad: https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2017/02/18/cbn-pegs-dollar-rate-for-school-fees-pta-at-n375/ The question is, will this affect our online purchase of phones and other items on sites like AliExpress? |

fibonacci2526:Why not buy $50 twice? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by fibonacci2526: 10:25pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
Dam5reey: Yup. It's the app that is having the issue not my card. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by fibonacci2526: 10:27pm On Feb 20, 2017 |
Gptech: Can't do that as it keeps throwing out error, just the $10 that's acceptable. You can try on your app though. The problem is with the app. |

Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by kazzonline: 2:36am On Feb 21, 2017 |
ismailajala: Nope it cant affect sites like alixpress, because interbank rates is diff from what cbn posted,if we wia to buy dollar at interbank rates it wud always flutuate, for example today it was 305 but gtb pegged dias at 320permanant to avoid such flutuations, now back to the matter, remb dos paying for school fees abroad cant be subjected to 100dollar limit like we are monthly,so cbn deviseed a means in which rather than sourcing at blackmarket rate, dey allow dis rate 375 for dos who which to mk such payment and the highest any individual can purchase is 15k dollars which would only work tru wire transfer, Hp u understand a bit,not too gud at explanation 1 Like 1 Share |

Gptech: thanks but other minor things I bought with the same card went through and have actually been shipped. could it be that it was because my account was not verified as the time in question and they saw the amount I attempted to spend (less than $500) though.. i have reordered again this morning though. The customer care robot gave me a misleading info that they do not accep debit mastercard which is not correct as people here have made me understand |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by toludadon(m): 9:57am On Feb 21, 2017 |
willian10: thanks. they processed other cheaper items paid for with the same card..I will also like to know more about the australua VPN thing and how to get the account verified since I don't have any document to back it up that am in Australia |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by 4llerbuntu(m): 10:13am On Feb 21, 2017 |
Aphrygian: I paid for something on the 1st, it 'shipped' on 7th (Chinese holiday palaver) it was 'dispatched' to Lagos on 15th it still hasn't landed in Nigeria today 21st on the other hand, some other things ive ordered before have been collected within 10 days so tailor your expectations accordingly. |

Gptech: The first two are around $300 each, while the xiaomi is over $700. Has anyone purchased on aliexpress since gtb announced their ban on international transactions last weekend? |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by fibonacci2526: 11:00am On Feb 21, 2017 |
sapienman: You can still buy using your GTB card. |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by rookidmart: 11:20am On Feb 21, 2017 |
To those whose AliExpress app is showing prices in Naira: Have you tried to buy anything? Does it go? Because the rate they are using is less than the bank's conversion rate so I doubt the bank will honour the transaction as they would make a loss because they'd have to remit the dollar equivalent to AliExpress . I could be wrong though. Can someone test with a very cheap item? http://s.aliexpress.com/bQf6FBf2 Costs 19 cents (roughly ₦60) |
Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by willian10: 11:20am On Feb 21, 2017 |
toludadon:Tell ur relative in Australia to create an account with his info, he'll just have to change the shipping address to urs in Nigeria, I won't advise u to use VPN |
