Good evening house, A colleague just got conditional letter of acceptance into university of Regina, but she was admitted as a probationary student and must have 75%CGPA in the first 3 graded courses before she can be admitted fully for the program. She's worried and wants to know if this won't affect the VO's decision in granting her TRV. Note that the 3 graded courses is between Fall 2017 and Summer 2018. Please has anyone been in this situation before? What advice would you give to her? Please help! Thanks
If i am right... That is a foundation program to qualify you into the main stream after meeting a set criteria... It's usually a consideration given to applicants who have not fully met the requirements of a main program or get very close to meeting up...

Most schools will not spell this clause fully on admission letters but if written as your case.... It may also be to your advantage.....

Your LoE may state that you have chosen the route because the foundation program is designed to sufficiently prepare you for your proposed program... This is what makes it unique from similar programs found in Nigeria and many other parts of the world.... And so on.......

Admissions are not easy to come by these days!!
Regards.

Morning my Ogas, pls I applied for study permit via online route but d person dat applied for me said police cert is not required on the online app, how true is this? Congrats again! I remember you shared your good news.
If your new course is still in the same school and the same level, you don't have to notify CIC because there is no change in DLI.
But if your new course is in another school and at the same level, you will have to notify CIC and transfer your DLI.

CBSA officers will only be interested in your Institution (DLI) and level of study. These two must be same with what you applied for your study permit with.

They won't ask for your undergrad degree nau to find out if it's inline with the new course in your offer letter at the POE. Only your offer letter will be requested. So just make sure your new program is in the same school and same level.

@Austinpee4 is it possible to get TRV with Msc and then change your program to pgd after approval? remember the DLI and level of study has changed. pls can u just share more light on this. thanks

actually if u can still upload it i'll say u should. police character is required by CIC via either online or paper route. the thing is it doesnt stop u from gettingg your TRV. we have seen alot of people approved on this thread without this doc. since you have it, i'll advice u upload it if u can, am not familiar with online application.

Thanks so much @FolaRoyal for the response. It is not a foundation program, its actually an Msc. You're right she didn't meet up to the 70% required by the school but she's slightly lower and they're admitting her on probation.

Good evening house, I am a bit worried after receiving this mail from the school i applied to. I applied for MENG in mechanical engineering, university of Saskatchewan. Please house from experience how do i go about tackling this.

"Your application has been carefully reviewed by faculty members in your research area. They have considered not only the degree program for which you applied, but all programs for which you are eligible. Unfortunately, since no faculty members have indicated a willingness to accept you as a graduate student, we cannot admit you. If you are successful in identifying a faculty member who is interested in supervising your graduate program, we can reactivate your file
Please note that applicants cannot be admitted to any graduate program unless a faculty member is willing to supervise them and offer them a place in their research group. Even if an applicant meets all of the admission requirements, this is no guarantee that they will be admitted, since admission is contingent on finding a supervisor. Admission to our program is very competitive: we receive about 150 applications per year, yet our 19 faculty members have openings for only about 20 new students each year".

We would like to sincerely thank you for your interest in our department, and wish you well in your future career.

Regards.

@Osemigho and all...gudmorning,
Pls, I need ur candid opinion on how a re-application goes with LOE. I mean, shld I write referring to d last application on d reason for refusal, despite getting my GNC file. Or shld I just write my LOE as a new applicant without making reference to d 1st one.
Also, will my new sponsor write anything indicating d last sponsor or anything linking to why I was refused on d last application?
Reason for refusal : Financial incapability from sponsor.
Though I ve gotten a new sponsor.
Need ur help to strategise.
Thank you as I await ur response

Hello,

You can find  our PhD admission requirements through the following link:

http://www1.uwindsor.ca/cs/2301/phd-admission-requirements

In particular, you need to have an equivalent of a 4 year Honours Bachelors degree in  Computer Science with all core CS courses taken and with high scoring grades from a good University.  Also, you must have a research thesis based MSc in CS not a course based MSc with project if seeking admission into PhD.  If you meet the conditions, you can follow up and apply and may also contact our grad secretary through csgradinfo@cs.uwindsor.ca for more details and enquiries.

You can specify my name as a possible supervisor. Admission is through an admission committee although a supervisor must be found.  Let me know if you are eligible and decide to apply.

For MSc admission, only condition 1 of having an equivalent of a 4 year Honours BSc in CS  with all core courses taken is needed.  The admission committee might recommend additional undergrad courses to make up if not already taken.

We try to support financially, but expecting full funding is not feasible. We actually do not make any funding guarantee to Masters students.

Hope this helps and Good Luck.

yea you can touch d reasons on ur LOE, a very sound explaination and even print and attach d GCMS file to ur application, and for the sponsor acknowledging d previous one no need for dat, provided dis has same relationship with u jst as d previous. success

My bro/sis contrary to other opinion, I tink dis is technically a rejection, your files and the file of other applicant have already bin displayed to all supervisors, which is the custom of most faculty in UofS. The Profs v already picked deir students and attempting to get a supervisor now, will b for another entry...

If you read the message carefully u will understand dis, abt 150students applied and d Profs had to pick 20, which had already bin done...

My advice is dt you apply to some other schs dt stil v dier admission open or start preparing to apply to UofS for another entry..

Try University of Regina

Is just my interpretation from the little knowledge I have of the sch and my analysis of the message sent to you..

TO GOD BE THE GLORY.....PGC TRV Approved
I have come to say a big THANK YOU to everybody on this thread especially FolaRoyal, MichV, Osemigho, Penitential, ArcAyo, Mikymiko, Thesoj and everyone that drop one form of information or the other.
I am a silent follower of this thread, I have never asked any question because I believe someone has already asked such question, all I just did was that I read this thread from Part 5 and I made "Google"" my best friend. My day is never complete without NairaLand even after submission.

Applied via Paper route
Programme - PGC Construction Project Management / Fanshawe College, London, ON
Session - Fall 2017
UG - Architecture

Submitted on - Dec 22, 2016 (Linked online on same day)
Medical passed - Jan 16, 2017 (Upfront E-medical)
Approval mail - Feb 17, 2017
Duration - Less than 2 months (56 days)
SOP - Took me a month to write a well convincing SOP (Proofread by FolaRoyal)
Yet to pick up my passport ( I submitted my passport with the application)
Will post my docs when I pick up my PP.

Dedicating my TRV to God, MikyMiko, Osemigho, Penitential for their immense contribution and every TRV hopeful
Congratulations sir

Yes it is possible. Msc and pgd are at the same level of education of POST-Secondary but there are conditions to it.
You MUST be enrolled at a designated learnin institution (DLI) and be actively pursuing your studies which means you have to enter canada and meet all the conditions on your study permit. Applying for a study permit with Msc and changing to PGD even before meeting the above conditions MAY be considered FALSE information.

They expect that you meet the condition on your current study permit first before you transfer to another school.

Hello pple. To d above post. The applicant did not secure a supervisor before applying. UofS has dat policy in Mechanical eng. 'Before you apply secure a supervisor' if not OYO

how much will the agent charge for UofToronto?

Ma, relax and devour their website well. I think Brandon still do paper app. It is not that difficult but don't expect funding I guess. Although their fee is cheap. Shalom!

Good afternoon guys. Woke up to this mail this morning and this is the biggest mistake I have ever made in my life, hope it won't cost me this visa after all the stress I went through. What are my chances of getting visa after replying them with prove in my SOP stating I was previously refused Visa on 2 separate occasion with reasons attached and I even include my GCMS which should also serve as evidence that it was just a mistake I made out of negligence. Help will be appreciated Asap because am being given 15day to reply. Thanks a brother in need.
