If you're really keen on getting funded, then you may already be too late as it's way past the deadline of most schools. Meanwhile there are still a handful of schools with deadlines of March 1st, but I doubt you'll make it through the application considering all that's required to get your application in.

I'll advice for your to aim for spring or fall 18, that way your choices will not to necessitated by deadlines but by quality.

I think the person is planning / hoping to end up with a job in the USA, not to return to Nigeria.
This is quite possible, especially if they get exceptional grades as this is what employers are looking for.

Unfortunately, contrary to your believe, no one will teach you the bolded at those universities abroad. The so called expert you flew in too fix the problem is most likely a technician (equivalent to OND) qualification in Nigeria. They learn on the job in apprenticeship programme (especially in the UK) or on-the-job after basic qualification.
"After one or two years", you will realise that Masters is just a waste of your time if you want hands-on technical experience.

There are jobs. Nigeria needs more and more highly skilled professionals. Trust me.

There are machines and the foreigners who work here are paid $100 per day. So, I cleverly asked them to keep mum to allow a local electrical engineer repair a machine for us. He said we have to change something and was using screwdriver to cause more damage. He was obviously doing a guess work. Then one of the foreigners came, pin-pointed the problem and fixed it immediately and the machine started to work again. The electrical engineer became ashamed of himself.
I felt moved. Really, I have decided to learn these machines. Maybe, after one or two years, whoever that contacts me would have to pay at least half of what foreigners here are being paid for me to get the job done for them and save more money for these companies.

The flight tickets of these foreigners alone cost millions of naira. Not to talk of accomodation, food and so on.

Certificates without great skills cannot take you to the Promised Land.

Exactly. That's what i'm talking about. Skills are very, very vital. Certificates without skills is no no.

Organizations want skills, not really certificates. Keep your credentials aside and show us what you can do.

Also check the new school you want to transfer to and read their transfer policy or transfer requirement

let be honest , why will someone exchange at this rate for you ......... What is the gain to the other person ,especially when the person can easily get a naira exchange from at least 480 and above . .............think , if it was you on the other-side you go exchange? .

If the deadline for receipt of your IELTS scores is still far, like six weeks away, you can send via surface mail/NIPOST. Ask them at British Council for this option. Usually, by default, they'd inform you of the courier option first which is one ridiculous amount. I think the NIPOST option is N500 or so.

Yes it will get there but you won't be able to track it to know if it's get there or else you ask the school

Your school should be the one to send it but if you have a good rapport with those in charge you can collect it from them and send it to WES yourself via courier if your school is not using courier..

But let them be aware that WES will contact them to ask about the authenticity of the transcript and they should be ready to tell them they are the one that issue and mail it out

Yes, it will get there. I did so for the school in which I'm in now, and it got to them like 5 weeks later after sending it.

My dear, don't discredit the Naira just yet. It has appreciated from N520 to N505 from 20th to 22nd Feb. The person who needs Naira will buy when they need it. Naira is still on offer guys! N375 to $1.
If you have GTB or FBN acct, you'll get the Naira in your account as I hit the submit button on my internet banking. No NEFT delays.

Well, everyone is free to give their own quote. Do you know some people travel back to Nigeria with Dollars and exchange it at those BDCs at the airport even today? Some even do that at the bank...though very few, but I know it still happens.
Not everyone is seeking a gain in that way...some will be satisfied with N375.

We all have family and friends back at home, and we know how the situation is affecting them. Inflation is going unchecked and I feel pained as though I'm still in Nigeria. There are mallams/BDCs in the US who can exchange the naira for you to dollar. Please go to them and transact. You will know how far.

And dont get it wrong, we are not hoping the naira falls, we want naira to appreciate exponentially. That will take some time

Also, you can send the naira to your friend in Nig so he can try and do Moneygram for you. You will get the dollar at a fair rate.

PS: We too have surplus naira, and at 375? We would have changed our naira to dollar since. At least, for now. Naira will rise again.
