Personally, I think the Min Fin, Gov CBN and others just wanted to build the reserves to $30 billion and then start selling dollars. This new policies of meeting FOREX orders comes just after geeting to that milestone

Quite thoughtful.....

Am sure you will now believe that this administration deliberately made things worst for ordinary citizens by increasing hardship first from ur analysis!!!!

Can you shed more light on this? Why would they want to build the reserve to $30million?

Exactly!!! If we had continued with the way we were dishing out forex pre-2015, we would have drained out foreign reserves in less than 7 months.

I hope the Bankers and BDCs will not sabotage this improvements... Na dem hand the thing dey

What improvements ?
The 2 day appreciation had nothing to do with any new policy, because as far as I concerned, there no clear policy.

The Naira simply bucked the trend on its weeklong loosing streak. And this happened because of new dollars, about $280m, injected into banks, BDCs or whatever else they call them. In a few days time, that amount would be quickly mopped up by the demand, and the slide would eventually continue.
The Naira is still far from finding its level against the dollar, especially when the seat of government has now been relocated to London.

Things are getting better since Buhari went to London for treatment.
Should he just stay there or do you think he should come back to put us in badluck again?
As for me and my household, we want things to get better, so therefore Buhari can remain in London.

You called #501 to a $ as improvement. Until it starts going for 150 to a $ that's when I will confirm the improvement until then it's still a fluke.

that is a great thinking......if they were able to add 5BN dollars to reserve in 6weeks,definitely in next 6weeks they will have another 5BN billion dollars amidst rising oil prices.thus, enoff money for xchange.this will signal end of recession

Let us hope the downward trend is sustained.

It's sad that some folks here are celebrating the crash of Naira because Buhari is of a different tribe.

We would ALL be affected if Naira is weak. Including the shortsighted folks who think they are immune because they are working abroad.

Let's all hope the best for our country.
