It will be stupidly stupid to believe that a foreigner will engage in an illegal activity without conniving with the natives. The problem is with lazy ugly South Africans. They should stop shouting Nigeria up and down!

Let's face the Gospel truth, your idea seems good, but what about the economic implication? We could cripple these companies within a day but who, for example, would employ hundreds of thousands MTN employees afterwards?

The problem is not who would be replacing these companies but the aftermath of our decisions. Business is not in any way greater than a human life, not at all, but then again, our actions could prove to potential investors that we are savages who could attack their companies when something comes up.

The social and economic implications are too huge to consider.

Some of you Nigerians are pretty pathetic. Do you remember how long Obasanjo begged for FDI before both Shoprite and MTN came to Nigeria ? You forgotten so quickly how many times he travelled to Europe and America seeking foreign direct investment without getting any until those SA companies came to your rescue.

You have forgotten so quickly how you chased out foreign nationals helping to develop your economy n country in the name of nationalisation. How much growth or development have you achieved without them.

You chose not to remember your president past n present global travel for the same FDI. Your brain might be very little but remember after chasing them away investor will look back 20-30 yrs from now on you antecedent and dealings with them before coming again so chase them all you want but remember the regret will haunt you several years to come.

I know believe a whole lot of dumb people are registered on the forum. Honestly, I can't tell what your problem is, whether it your ability to comprehend or read. Perhaps you desire to be mischevious for reasons unknown. Below is my post you took out a whole lot from;

Most South Africans are lazy folks. They derive joy in lazying around, which makes them easy targets to drugs. Not like I support drugs in the least of ways but recalling all Nigerians in South Africa just because of a lazy people and their country might see some ignorant Nigerians vandalize South African companies' properties without considering the ripple effect.

As it stands, MTN and Shoprite would definitely be the first targets should this escalate beyond this.

Well, I honestly would know why but I believe those who venture into it do it for the money. Unfortunately, the notion these folks give to foreigners is that Nigeria is next to Mexico and Brazil, when in reality, these drugs are not really patronized as seen or projected in South Africa and other countries Nigerians pollute.

Truth is, a huge majority of wealthy folks here in Nigeria are dug Lords who go about their operations covertly. There is the story of a woman I heard yesterday. A 50+ year old who has 16 flats in a huge compound but never lives in the house. Our judiciary is stark corrupt, just as our legislators.

I would say the only way to minimize this scourge is for us to stiffen the penalty on drugs. Let us go the way of most Asian countries. But then, we can't as the bill would not see the light of day. How can it when a drug Lord is a senator in Nigeria?

The likes of Buruji Kashamu would never make it see the light of day.

If the drug peddlers do it for the money like you guessed, how did they land in poverty if not the corruption in government ? stiff penalty for corruption will take care of the rest.
Re: Nigerians have killed more South Africans - Gigaba, SA Home Affairs Minister by morpheus24: 10:21am On Feb 24, 2017
That Gigaba is a closet Xenophobe and is simply masking his real sentiments concerning Foreign nationals. If you don't want these people then shut down your Embassies in these countries and stop issuing permits and visas. You can't have it both ways. You want to invest in other peoples countries but you will not uphold your mandate on asylum seekers and economic migrants.

St.u.p.id Politician from an extremely violent and angry nation.

Ill gotten money are never utilized the way every money should. Most people who venture into drugs do so just to cut corners. Quite frankly, it is about showing off at the end of the day, rather than putting it to good use. And we all know what happens to such people at the end of the day.

I used to believe it is only Nigerian politicians that don't think. However, the SA Home Affairs Minister has gone on to prove otherwise.

So lazy South Africans who chose to connive with dirty, illegal, ill-thinking Nigerians, thereafter lose their lives is enough justification that all Nigerians living in South Africa should be repaid in the same vein. How about the businesses that have been brought to their knees?

South Africa might just be heading into a trouble that would catapult them back to 10 years ago.

You're getting the minister wrong.

Abike Dabiri undiplomatically made some comments about Nigerians killed in South Africa. He replied by saying do you know how many South Africans have been killed by Nigerians?

South Africa has a very high crime rate and Nigerians dominate the drug trade. They are also involved in prostitution. Many Nigerians are forced into crime due to a high unemployment rates that affects both locals and immigrants. Guys are lured into crime in order not to starve.

Crime in South Africa is extremely violent with guns plentiful and policing underwhelming.

Nigerian criminals are also part of those who commit murders. You can't be involved in drugs and not be exposed to violence.

The minister's response is likewise combative and out of context. Abike Dabiri says Nigerians are being killed in South Africa based on extra judicial activities and perceived xenophobic sentiment. The minister cannot respond by stating how many Nigerians kill South Africans. What context is he framing that argument? is he insinuating that if Nigerians kill South Africans as a result of criminal activity therefore his somehow normalizes or rationalizes the killing of Nigerians under the circumstances Abike frames her claim. The issue is within his jurisprudence and jurisdiction therefore contextually his response is nonsensical.

If he had mentioned the killings of South African in Nigeria that would be a more contextual response.

Again the man appears to be articulate but in reality I don't think he is.

That's a Kenyan right there (in the hat), in South Africa, unless I've lost my knack for identifying accents, watch the third video. In order words, before you worry about Nigerians and other Africans, first worry about South Africans and other Africans.

I am force to ask how many percentage of South African are addicted to drug ? Now compare that to how many jobless Nigerians are addicted to weed, crack cocaine, skunk to the extent well known ex governor n serving senator are still celebrated cocaine addict today in Nigeria. You all fight against stigmatizing Nigeria as a cocaine or fraud haven but deep down you know that is what Nigeria is so why labels SA with such lame accusations, why ?!
