A Set is a collection of distinct objects/numbers. e.g if we have {mango,apple,orange}, they are "Set of Fruits." if we have {pot,kettle,pan}, they are "Set of Utensils." if we have {2,4,6}, they are "Set of Even Numbers." Please note that Set MUST be represented in a Curvy Bracket "{}", if they are represented in (), [], <>, that means it is not Set.
TYPES OF SETS:
1. INFINITE SET: a set that have no end. You will note numerous dots {2,3,5,7,...}
2. FINITE SET: a set that have end. Just as in {2,3,5,7}
3. EMPTY SET: a set with no member, just as in {}. Note that Members of a Set are letters/number written in a curvy bracket.
SET NOTATIONS:
A) Union of Sets: it tells you all members of both Sets to be included in a Single Set. It is denoted by letter "U."e.g if you are given A= {2,3,4}, and B= {3,5}, find AUB.
Hint: they are asking you to write Members of Set A and B together in a Single Curvy Bracket. AUB> A Union B.

The answer to it become
AUB= {2,3,4,5}
You will notice that the members can be either found in set A or B.
B) Intersection of Sets: it means the members which both sets have in common. It is denoted by small letter "n". E.g if you are given A= {2,3,4} and B= {4,5}. To find AnB.
Hint: they are asking you to select the common term in both sets to a single set. AnB> set A .ntersection B.
AnB= {4}
You will notice is only "4" they have in common.
C) Number in a Set: it tells you how many members are contained in a set. It's denoted by small letter "n" close to the set. E.g if you are given P= {2,3,5}. To find n(P).
Hint: they are asking you to count the numbers of members in that set.
n(P)= 3
There are only three(3) members in set P.
D) Compliment of a Set: it tells you members you will find in the Universal/Main/U Set that are not in the subsets. It's denoted by an apostrophe sign '.

E.g if you are given U= {1,2,3,5,7} and A= {2,7}. To find A'
Hint: they are asking you to select and put members that are in Set U but are not in subset A.
A'= {1,3,5}
You will notice that 1,3,5 are in Set U/Universal set but are not in subset A.
More:
U= {2,3,4,5,7}; A={2,5,}; B= {2,3,5}. Find (AnB)'
Hint: you have to find the intersection(the one in bracket) before the compliment(the one outside the bracket).
AnB= {2,5}, therefore
(AnB)'= {3,4,7} that's the final answer.
Online Work:
Which type of set is {5,6}?

Mathematics is very interesting if you have a nice and smart tutor/teacher.

Which type of set is {5,6}?
Answer: Finite Set.
A finite Set refers to a set that has end.
