you travel at the age of 11, which during the interview, the VO don't ask you any question.. as long as that time you don't abuse the visa, by overstaying or so, you still have the grace of your parents on that visa, not your as long as you keep the rule,..

you are abusing this thread by encourage him to go head with his traveling plan, your best advice will be telling him to look for job and build up his tie... no VO will give visa to unemploye person no matter the prayer,..

To be honest, this distinction is kind of irrelevant at this point in time. In the past, there may have been a distinction but we currently issue "B1/B2" to everyone applying for a B1 or a B2, regardless of what you have put in your application.

First of all.. he should provide us with the email and is it from the official mail of the embassy? if not then why worry..

odd. What does the email look like? Is it official? Someone might be trying a scam. What does it say?

One way to clarify is to contact the US embassy directly and ask them if they indeed sent her the request.

Yeah, I dig this Sis.... Just that the operative word in this situation i was asking about is "MINOR". Actually asked because I read it somewhere in the past (can't lay hands on where now, but was never verified by me) that they only get B2 visas and never B1 or B1/B2 for some specific reason till they get off the MINOR radar, which I wanted my memory to be jogged on or to get validation for by my go-to bosses; @LadyG and LagosNIV.

As it is now from responses from both of you, that seem to have been nothing but a hoarse! Thanks loads

Probably fake. The only way to verify is to email/call the official embassy email/call centre and enquire

put the email address here let us confirm it for you. to me it 100% scam.... just copy the email address and put it on Google, you will see for yourself

The words "NEVER APPLY" struck me. A quick search shows your full personal details here on nairaland. Now, even if you want to go visit genuinely or even to study sef, you have shot yourself in the foot. You've been marked mehn!!!!

I don't condone illegality but one should learn to, as much as possible, avoid putting personal details on forums like this. Apart from making yourself an easy target for scammers, your comments can inadvertently put you in trouble, make you lose out on jobs, opportunities and even visas!

It seem like she did not present enough strong proof that she would return after her visit.
The usual things like letter from employer, property, family.

What exactly was written on the letter she was given on refusal?

He wants to add his MBA in view to his form, even if its not going to change anything atleast put it there since hebis yet to finish the program. Please is it advisable to add it or he should just leave it. Because i feel adding to what you did not feel in before could make the vo think one is cooking up some lies. I want him to add it but i got a feeling they could think he is trying to cook up some lies.. He's gota letter from the post graduate school already. please what should he do. should he add it on the form or should just leave it and explain at the interview?

You already have it set in your mind to do that, despite all the advice even from the vo not to reapply, so do whtever you feel is right

Only you know that. I can give you a hint. You know what ties are right? Good. So if you were denied for lack of ties, then which ties have you acquired since then?

Ties means what will ensure you return back home, this can be Work, properties, family, financial might etc. Now evaluate what has changed after your first interview.

What has changed since you last applied?
That was the question being asked.
