chineloSA: 4. There is a high turnover. Expats resign once they cant take it anymore. The country itself can get to you. So some nationals cant cope. |

lebete3000: Yess its true. Expecially Americans. This place is too restrictive for some. But don't scared, there are people who have been here for 15yrs and more. It all depends on why you came here. Also if you bring your wife, you can have a fulfilling life. If you are alone as a man, its hard. 1 Like 1 Share |

chineloSA: That's fun for you den. But a medic colleague of mine used just a year there and I doubt if he came for a summer break. He also complained bitterly about the restrictions despite being a Muslim. |

Hello guys, I salute the effort of the OP and all members of this thread, I really want to move to KSA before the end of this year in sha Allah, I am a graduate of mathematics but I have been working as an RF Drive Test Engineer (Telecommunication sector) since last year, pls I need someone to advice me on how to get this job more easily and quicker, I am satisfied with the restrictions over there, in fact its the major reason I want to go there, I will start applying for jobs posted on the telecom forums I have subscribed to online, and will also start taking steps on getting my Nigerian passport when I get my next salary, my wife is studying Medical Lab Sc to finish next year in sha Allah, pls I need someone to enlighten me more on the important things I need to be aware of to make this dream a reality soonest in sha Allah. Thank you. hemmn and pls, on some of the job links I saw, it was written on the description that 'transferable iqama or ajeer is a must', don't know what that means o. |

lebete3000: Women Thats gonna be tough for you. You cannot be roaming the streets with a woman you are not married to. If they catch you, the punishment is very harsh. Some foreign family compounds ( estates ) are relaxed, you can perhaps get a woman there. Some foreign flats are segregated or have 24hr surveillence for people like you Cigarette is all over. Alcohol, you can illegally find it, but hey you will be caught or maybe report by your supplier. Pornsites are all blocked her, sorry. No porn for you. |

lebete3000: Well you get used to it and create your own fun. Yes, your collegue was not exeggerating. Yes, alot of Muslims expecially from the UK, find it hard to cope here. For medics, leave is calculated differently. For us in the academic sector, we have quiete generous breaks in between quater terms and a very generous summer break. |
Re: Anyone Working In Saudi Arabia by chineloSA(f): 6:18pm On Feb 27, 2017 |
lekeshoow: Take a look at the above posts with webpage addresses, they might help you. Only if you wanna go into the academic field. Iqama is a work permit that your employer applies on your behalf to work here. The employer bears all the costs of relocation etc and they become our Mahrams especially for us women. Some employers refuse to hand people over to other employers because of the costs of relocating and recruiting one person. Therefore they sort of "close iqama" meaning you cannot resign and join another employer. You have to resign, return to your country of origin and start the process all over again. "Transferable Iqama" simply means transferable work permit. Eg. If you come with a wife and your wife is your dependant under your "Iqama", she can find a job while in Saudi, if she decides to take another offer, she is free to do it because her "Iqama" is transferable. She didnt arrive in Saudi through any company, but through the husband. This is somehow modern day slavery, but it doesn't affect us that much. People resign and return to their home countries and start the process all over again. 1 Like |

hello gud day sis chinello, pls I need you to help clarify this I am an hnd holder in accounting, is it possible for me to write the telsa/delta exam with an hnd certificate? and can i get a teaching job or even work as an accountant with my hnd in saudi? or they only take degrees? do they recognise HND as a degree as well? because even here in nigeria, there are discriminations,I dont know if it happens over there as well , and secondly,I intend to come with my wife, but she is just an OND holder,is there any thing she can do over there, either with or without her qualification,im thinking she can start her degree online with any university in europe, but I dnt know,if upon completion of the online degree, maybe she'll be able to use it to teach in the kindgom, I await your response ma, and anybody that can answer my questions can also help, thank you and God bless |
