whats actually the difference between a visa and the nigerian passport and how do they work..

Nigerian passport is your identification document stating who you are and where you were born while Visa is your destination country's statement or ticket showing you have the right to stay or transit through their country within a given period or indefinitely.

They work together or the passport can work as a standalone ID proof. The Visa always attaches to your national or international passport to say that the person whose face and biometrics are contained in the passport with which it is bonded has been officially cleared, recognized and encouraged to commute, live, do business, study, work, attend medical care or other imaginable functions under the Earth within the period stipulated in that Visa, after which the visa is void and the person is expected to renew or return.

For example, when you have your work ID, student's ID or national ID in your wallet and you board a minibus or luxury coach to travel interstate, at the bus station you pay for the journey and receive a ticket showing you have the right to a seat in that bus until you reach your final stop. You file the ticket inside your wallet and perchance the journey encounters an emergency or accident, it's what's found in your wallet(Passport ID) with the ticket(visa) that will help you further.
