dear all, i ve been following this threads for awhile now(after been compelled by my wife). I just want to say thanks for all the advice from all and sundry. they did got me better armed for our family visa interview. our interview was today and we met a sweet lady in cubicle 4. she was very warm. our conversation went thus: VO: what are you going to do in the States ME: for family vacation and my wife is pregnant so we plan to have our baby there VO: Oh well thats great! congratulations. where do u plan to stay in the us ME: My wife's uncle lives in NY VO: have u contacted any doctor for your delivery MY WIFE: yes. we ve been corresponding VO: how did get to know the doc. MY WIFE: my uncle recommended VO: whats the cost estimates and how much funds have you ME: we ve about 23,000USD. MY wife gave a brief run down of the cost VO: asked us where we both work and how long we ve been on the job. asked me a question related to my practice. then my son( 2 yrs 6mths old) was getting out of control, while i was trying to get him relaxed as well answering the questions. he was busy touching the glass, standing on the slab, touching the light and picture frame on the wall then my wife sighted a picture of the statue of liberty on the wall and was telling our son wat it was. THEN WE KNEW WE HAD BEEN FAVORED! As the VO with a big smile on her face advised us to visit the statue and take the flight of stairs to the top as its a breath-taking experience. we promised we'd do. THEN she issued us THE WHITE PAPER and asked us to come in 3 working days time for our visas JUST LIKE THAT! NO DOCUMENTS CHECK. NO UNEASY QUESTIONS. EVERYTHING WARM AND INTERACTIVE! TO GOD BE THE GLORY! Derinoye: 20 Likes |

[quote author=Teefinix3 post=54117698]Good morning house.... I ve been a silent reader of this thread for quite a while. Pls I ve a concern abt travelling to give birth in June. I travelled with my family in 2015 for vac and the visa expired in 2016 after which we did a drop box renewal almost immediately but couldn't travel in 2016 for some reasons. We eventually decided to go for d vac in 2017. Fast forward...I got preg and now wish to travel for birthing in June. 1) Is it necessary I send a change of intent letter? The preg was not even planned.....but now that I am, is this letter still necessary 2) will my birthing in us jeopardise my family's future renewals. We really don't want to waste the visa without travelling within the 2 yrs validity. The visa expired Feb 2018. Kindly respond pls....am still awaiting ur views Thanks.... Kindly advise plsssssssss |

olaboss: Maryland is a bit expensive to give birth. Holy Cross is in Silver springs and you can search for their contacts on line and get their charges from them. My advice is to target Virginia though. Hospital fees are lower and the care is the same. Check for hospital's around Arlington as it's like 15-25 mins drive from Silversprings. Try and Google Inova hospital's 1 Like |
