All I can deduce from op's comment is that he has deep hatred for certain tribes in Nigeria. I am neither Hausa, Igbo nor Yoruba. I do not support on nigerians who go out there to tarnish the image of Nigeria. But as a Nigerian (irrespective of which tribe you are), the best you should be doing is encourage Nigerians to desist from taking laws into their hands and find their way back home. Instead, you delight yourself in highlighting the differences we have as a nation. FYI, most third world countries have tribal differences but when issues that affect every national arises, they resolve it better as one not by division. Even in the US, they have racial tensions but that won't warrant any sort of racial division when it comes to matters concerning its citizens. If that to you is hypocrisy then find another country out there to call your own.

jealousy of what? Honestly why would someone be jealous of Nigerians?
Dude, take it easy, I am guessing you are South African, the purpose of this thread is not to create more tension or promote hate, neither do I want hate to be encouraged on this thread, I am Nigerian and I condemn the xenophobic attacks by South Africans on fellow Africans or any national for that matter, in the same weight I also condemn the actions of my Nigerian brothers in South Africa, however please do note that their actions might stem from the fact that they feel both the Nigerian and South African government are not doing enough to end the attacks on foreigners but that is not enough for them to take the law into their hands.

OreMI22:
So this op wants to condemn Nigerians for defending themselves and families from being raped and butchered by south african miscreants?

They said Nigerians sold drugs, yet they could not point to one house or shop they looted that dealt in drugs or even find any drugs to prove their case.

South african blacks are the lowest scum of the earth. They hate Nigerians for being hardworking being able to make a living in the same country they expect Zuma to buy them everything they need without raising a finger to do any useful work.
stop nonsense , who rapes Nigerians? Nigerians are hated worldwide, It's not a south African phenomenon. Malaysia and India are kill I g Nigerians for sport! Btw hard work s not exclusive or Nigerians . You are hard working but you are known all over Africa for cutting corners and making easy money conning people. If you work so hard , why is your country such a zoo?

you should have said that in the first and not perpetuate lies. No one is jealous of Nigerians , the brutal truth is that they are looked down upon because they are associated with criminality. Who becomes jealous of such people?

my bad, the other guy, who said we are jealous, the other truth is that these attacks are not as widespread as you would believe. They are perpetuated by a few.a marginalized segment of population. An average South African wouldn't just go and participate in these attacks

the problem with Nigerians is that they are okay with the status quo as long as they are not affected or when Igbo's are the ones affected, you refer to other countries and their tension or racial discrimination, yes true it occur every where but the question begging for answers is are they encouraged there, the answer is no they nip it in the bud immediately if it is established that they was any form of racial abuse, discrimination or whatever in those places mentioned. Now coming to Nigeria everybody wants to act like there are no issues instead of drawing the lines and making these crimes and offenses punishable under the law, you speak of Nigeria you speak of unity now tell me your position on Igbo presidency. It should not be all well when the going is good for you and not your brother, you should speak against injustice on all for unity to truly exist in Nigeria. I am no tribalist I simply believe in sincerity no matter whose is ox is gored.

I am not placing condemnation talk least of total condemnation on Nigerians, when you read my subsequent post on this thread you will understand my position.

The truth be told, if nigerians engaged in legitimate businesses in south Africa and lived peacefully with them they won't be attacked,if you travel to south Africa you will notice that the drug ring is controlled by the Igbos while the scam and forgery ring is controlled by the yorubas, and after that they still go ahead and flaunt money and live an arrogant and flamboyant lifestyle, sleeping with south African girls at will, while the south africans just look on.that's enough reason to be angry.

Just as I suspected. You are a btribal bigot. Your first statement gave you out.
Your type is why this country refuses to overcome its challenges. FYI, I got Igbo childhood friend who is married to an ibira lady. Both recently relocated to SA and I am in prayers that they don't get caught up on this senseless skirmishes. You should learn to look at issues with humanity in focus than wound up on Nairaland with a heart filled with tribal hate. It will do you no good.

Mr. calling me a tribal bigot does not make me one, why did you fail to answer any of the questions raised if you are no bigot sir, we all have friends who are not from the same ethnic stock that we love and care for that changes nothing, what is your position on the Igbo situation in Nigeria don't sweep that under the rug if you want genuine unity sir all this must be brought to the table and addressed if you want genuine national unity.

I agree. Go to the American embassy, British High Commission, South African High Commission, Canadian High Commission you will see thousands of Nigerians waiting stupidly for visas.

Nigerians themselves have no hope in their useless country and yet they will come on line to start forming "giant" of Africa.

Seriously am still of the opinion the writer is bias on his personal view on Nigeria as a country. The core point in your post cant be express in a lay man understanding. Are you of the opinion the Xenophobic attack is a right attempt towards another state in the international system procedure.

According to Walter Roodney a writer of Developed & Developing State (HOW EUROPE UNDERDEVELOPED AFRICA). A developed state dont act in a realist manner but instead libralist procedure in order to dialogue & protect the image of his country and maintain strong relationship with both developed state and developing state.

Ask yourself is South Africa a developed state.
A developed state can only kill a none citizen by either thru.
1) Drug trafficking
2) Violations of Aliens rules and regulation as stated in the Immigration law
Even before an Alien is going to be executed the other state deserve notification of the crime the citizen has committed
ETC
So Mr. Writer please kindly educate us the reason South Africa is killing Nigerians and the Government of South Africa remain silents about such evil actions.

Mind you South Africa is developed state....but Xenophobic attack...that practically characteristics of a developing state.
While Nigeria is still a developing state...But has been matured with South Africa with peaceful zero tolerance level.
South Africa businesses in Nigeria and citizens has not been attack in Nigeria by any Nigerians citizen

Your mind and instinct might be telling you are right base on your personal thought... but you are obviously wrong. how could an enlighten person support killing of a man.

Even your normal brain should tell you killing of Nigerians is wrong#

The holy book (Bible & Quran) did not support it.

it took South Africa noting to waste even your own life...or you think you are different to does people killed.

Please be reasonable when talking about issues like this...

YOU CAN PUT THE VIDEO ON REPEAT YOURSELF TILL YOU SEE THE MEANING OF PAIN AND FEAR IN IT.

Am out.

U are saying nonsense, verbal nonsense, so because am not an indigene u will kill me and u expect me to fold my arms and die??! I can't believe a human being is saying this, it's the right of a country to protect all immigrants , since the government can't let then defend themselves, the highest thing they will do is deport them alive not dead
myplaydiary:
I am sure those of you commenting above did not watch the video you only read "Nigerians form vigilante group" and you base your arguement on that, Please watch the video before commenting and I said let's not be hypocritical or sentimental rather let's beobjective in our reasoning. Those of you saying so they should not protect themselves, does the law give them the right as foreigners to protect themselves, they should expect the proctection from the South Africa government or better still the Nigerian envoy, this goes a long way to show that the Nigerian government is not proactive and does not care about the welfare of it citizens.

For those of you saying the op is this or that I think you guys are just being hypocrites or myopic in your reasoning, iPob have been protesting peacefully and have been getting shot, what would you say tomorrow if you read that iPob forms a vigilante against the very people shooting them, the Igbo business men spread across the state of the federation have been continually harassed in the course of their trade what would you say if you read that they formed a vigilante in a state like Lagos, I bet yoruba's would say Igbo have come to grab their lands.

Have you guys forgotten so soon how a Igbo chief was flogged for parading himself as a Igbo chief (Eze Ndi Igbo) in Osun state and many hailed the Oba for the flogging even when it should have been condemned, have you guys forgotten so soon the oba statement about drowning in the river, what if groups were formed to avert such reoccurrence, all I am trying to point out is that there is a due process to get things done a right of way, if you take laws into your hands the consequences might be over bearing, if the South Africans decide to take on the Nigerians do you guys hailing them on really think the Nigerians stand a chance, I bet you guy will be the first to scream genocide.

Please let's reflect deeply on the consequences of our action before we embark on them or speak out the actions of our brothers in that very video up there is bad, a shame and should be condemned by all even by the Nigerian government. A word is enough for the wise.
