Always remember their price Compared to musa,,,, they av acquired hero status @Leicester.
Even tho vardy Don lost him MOJO,,,, d guy still outperforms musa,,,,, he should step up his game

It doesn't matter how much they cost they are award winning players. Did Harzard cost 100 million? The team was built around them plain and simple. I remember in a single match Vardy wasted no less than 5 assists from Musa. Vardy got way more chances to play he started more games.

Yes...u are correct....I am being generic abt Ahmed Musa's deficiency more like looking at a foundational problem with his game dat has ensured he has always been inconsistent in all d teams he has played for....the entire leceister team has underperformed dis season bt he was one of d new players brought in to spice things up bt he has not done visibly well(witout trying to lay all the blame of d teams on him)......on tactical and technical ability....this is wat I mean regards musa

Tactical. A tactically-strong player is gifted in his perception of space, time and movement on the field. He recognizes desirable passes to be made and sees where opponents are likely to send the ball, uses space to create (or deny) opportunities, and varies his speed, playing tempo and ball pace. These qualities are mental and psychological.

Technical. A technical player is a master of the techniques of the game (passing, trapping, shooting, dribbling, tackling the ball.) He has excellent touch, precise control, a fast work-rate of touches on the ball, and uses all sorts of body surfaces or edges. He does seemingly impossible or unbelievable things with the ball, even under pressure or in the closest proximity to opponents. These qualities are learned and practiced, often combined and used in unusual ways.

Point out ur instances from this year. I am pretty sure I already knew what u meant by those words. Let us know which matches he showed lack of technical and tactical ability.

in that my write up I was talking about including Taiwo who coincidentally is an experienced defender, Martins is debatable but let's agree to disagree, I am not really his advocate but I believe that he is better than Ideye, Ighalo and Iheanacho on current form but maybe we can look towards other options.

Meanwhile are you watching this Liverpool vs Leicester game? Ndidi has been sublime, I don't know what else you need

That is why I have maintained August is far away. Let him continue playing. I am sure Rohr saw that game too.

We can't throw away our vice captain like that. The people in England are fools if they blame Musa for anything. They just don't have the guts to admit that Vardy was the problem.

This is not an issue of vice captaincy. Was Oliseh, the captain of the 2002 AFCON Team, not thrown away and disgraced?

IMO opinion, Musa is not as bad a player as people tag him.

I think we should redefine his role in the Super Eagles Team. We try him as a Supporting striker when we need to switch formation that requires a second striker. Musa is still a deadly forward.

Wilfred Ndidi did remarkably well today especially in terms of interceptions/ball winning bt d dude still has a lot to learn in terms of tactical discipline as he is easily drawn out of his position. He is also far below onazi in terms of ball retention and distribution....I will pick onazi ova him for now bt he is not too far off in usurping onazi in d nearest future!

I also share your view.

You know Ndidi started off as a CB which could be largely responsible for his excellent ball blocking/interception ability. Ndidi's mobility is a strength but also a weakness cos as u rightly said he is often drawn out of position.

His excellent interception ability is also an asset to us as that implies Ndidi is still very useful as a CB. Troost-Ekong has been off pace of late, so who knows? Rohr may consider Ndidi for a CB position. Ndidi can also be played alongside Onazi with Onazi playing the more central role.
Besides, we have not been seeing Onazi's games of late bc we dnt watch Turkish league in our homes.

As I have said repeatedly August is still far away, a lot can happen from now till then. Lets keep watching.

.

I am not a sucker for stats as I base my judgements on careful observations bt Musa's stats for leceister has not been dat impressive. Offensively, these are some of his stats:

Apps:29
Mins:915
Goals:4
Assists:0
Shots/game:0.9
Key passes:0.5
Dribbles:0.7
Dispossed:0.8
Unsuccessful touches:1.1

In terms of tactical discipline, this is an excerpt from goal.com on his performance against sevilla

" On Wednesday night, it was remarkable how often Sergio Escudero got in round the back, with Musa, unaware of the danger, seeming to snap awake long after his opponent was past him. As Marcelo Bielsa said, defending is a matter of will and effort; too often, Leicester’s second ever most expensive signing has shown too little of either"

Haven said that, it is pertinent to note that musa joined a Leicester side that failed to realize what everyone else had: that no one would give them the sort of space in which they thrived last season. It is easy to imagine him cantering into the open channels much like Vardy did, racking up the goals. As the Englishman’s scoring has regressed to a trickle, Musa’s has been unable to get going. The difference is that Vardy has excess credit from a season of stardust.

Ultimately, this does not absolve musa himself. The chances have been few, but he has hardly been the epitome of effort and selfless running.

Etebo will maintain the CM role while the AM position should be between Iwobi and Aluko.

K. Nwakali maybe invited to camp though, but I dnt see him stepping into that shoe yet.

Another DM raising dust this season is Mikel Agu. He has been very impressive.

Defensive stats

3.6 Tackles
2.6 interceptions
1.8 Clearances.

He puts in a lot of tackles as well and appears to read the game well as shown by his interceptions.

He has been easily one of the best players for his club this season.

Gernot Rohr to use March friendlies as prep for Bafana Bafana

Coach Gernot Rohr

Nigeria’s March friendlies against Senegal and Burkina Faso will be used as preparation for their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa in June, according to coach Gernot Rohr.

The Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana have been drawn in the same qualifying group for the 2019 AFCON and will meet in the first round of matches in mid-June.

Returning to the AFCON is a particularly important target for Rohr and Nigeria, given that they missed out on participating in the recent 2017 edition in Gabon.

“We are not thinking too far ahead of the World Cup games against Cameroon later in the year,” Rohr told BBC Sport.

“These two friendly matches in England will help us prepare for South Africa in June.

“We have to take it one step at a time, first we focus on South Africa then we start to look at Cameroon.”

According to Allnigeriasoccer.com, the Super Eagles’ matches against Senegal and Burkina Faso will both be held at Hive Stadium in London.

'Nice guy' Efe Ambrose does not have future at Celtic - Manager

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has said Nigeria defender Efe Ambrose does not have a future at the perennial Scottish champions and he will be expected to therefore leave in the summer.

“He’s one of the nicest guys around, but his future will be elsewhere. It won’t be here at Celtic,” he announced.

This announcement comes just weeks after the UK Home office rejected the central defender’s loan switch to struggling English Championship side Blackburn Rovers because he has not played enough games for the Super Eagles in the last two years.

“It’s unfortunate he’s back here because he wanted to go on loan to get more playing time,” lamented Rodgers.

The 28-year-old Ambrose has not played for runaway league leaders Celtic this season after he featured in 21 matches in the league for them last season.

In his time at Celtic, he won four championships, two League Cup winners' medal and a Scottish Cup.

He joined the Scottish kings in the 2012/13 season from Israeli club Ashdod.

Chisom Egbuchulam completes loan move to Hacken

by Samm Audu

Rangers forward Chisom Egubuchulam has completed his season-long loan move to Swedish club BK Hacken.

This was after the 25-year-old winger passed his medical on Monday.

He has been handed jersey No 22 and his new club have since requested for his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

He is expected to sign a permanent three-year contract if he impressed at the end of the season.

Negotiations between Chisom and Tunisian clubs Etoile du Sahel and later Club Africain failed to go through.

Chelsea Must Remain Focus – Moses

Super Eagles winger, Victor Moses insisted that Chelsea are within touch of winning the Premier League title and that the team must remain 100% focus.

The Blues defeated Swansea 3-1 to move 10 points above second place Tottenham on the EPL table with 12 matches remaining.

Moses, who made his 25th appearance in the colours of the Blues, revealed to Chelsea's official website on Monday that the team must take each game as they come till the end of the season.

"We’re not looking at the table at the moment, we still have 12 matches to play and we just need to take each game as it comes. We just want to stay grounded and win as many games as we can between now and the end of the season,” Moses said.

Goldfish just wants to include Onazi. Speaking strictly on form and stats, Mikel Agu and Ndidi are ahead of him by a mile.

Besides, his criticism of Ndidi isn't fair. A proper analysis of Ndidi's play shows that he isn't playing just as the DMF but as the all round midfield destroyer, that's why he plays with another DMF as well so in essence, their criticism of Ndidi is actually a testament to his tactical ingenuity, the ability to play various forms of the DMF role, the boy isn't going to be world class, he already is!

Manchester United Scouts Have Watched Super Eagles Star Etebo Severally This Season

CD Feirense and Super Eagles star midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo has been watched by top European teams including English Premier League giants Manchester United.

Scouts have regularly watched CD Feirense’s game and reports in Portugal says they have been to these games primarily due to Etebo and 26 year old Brazilian forward Platiny.

The duo are reportedly two of the prized asset of the newly promoted Portuguese team, with Etebo the most favoured as he is only 21 years old.

Owngoalnigeria.com gathered that scouts from the La-Liga have also watched the Eagles midfield maestro but in England, Manchester United have posted scouts to his games more than any other club.

According to reports Etebo who has played in 12 games this season has played in 6 times in front of scouts from the newly crowned EFL Champions in England.

Super Eagles and Chelsea star Victor Moses says the English Premier League leaders are the best club in the world at the moment.

Moses made this known in an interview with the official website of the club, where he also said the English Premier League title race is not over yet.

Osimhen To Work With Ex Arsenal Coaches At German Side Wolfsburg

Highly rated Nigerian teen forward Victor Osimhen will work with new set of coaches at German side Wolfsburg following the sacking of former coach Valerien Ismael.

Ismael was sacked after Friday’s 2-1 defeat to Werder Bremen, which left Wolfsburg hovering just above the relegation places on the Bundesliga table.

The club confirmed today that Arsenal Academy Chief who worked at the club as an assistant in the past will become the new manager at the Bundesliga side.

They also confirmed fellow Arsenal academy coach Freddie Ljungberg had joined them as part of the coaching crew of the new manager.

Osimhen will be hoping their coming profit him after failing to make his first team debut under Ismael, no thanks to injuries and fitness issues since January when he became eligible to represent the club in competitive games.

Efe To Spend 93 Days On Loan To Hibernian Before Joining Ligue 1 Side Bastia In Summer

Efe Ambrose is to move to Hibernian until the end of the season on an emergency loan deal from Celtic.

STV Sport understands the Nigerian defender will have a medical in Edinburgh on Monday evening.

The deal is expected to last for 93 days, the maximum allowed under the emergency loan system.

Ambrose has just returned to Celtic after a move to Blackburn Rovers collapsed.

He had been poised to move to the English side at the end of the January transfer window but issues with his work permit prevented the move from being completed.

Now Neil Lennon, Ambrose’s former manager at Celtic, is set to add the player to his squad as he aims to take Hibs to the Championship title and promotion to the top flight.

However he will most likely leave Scotland in the summer when his contract expires in the summer at Celtic, and French Ligue 1 side Bastia are presently the favorite to land him on a free transfer.

Speaking on Monday afternoon, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers spoke about Ambrose in glowing terms but admitted he had little chance of forcing his way back into the first team at Parkhead.

“I think it was work permit issues with Efe,” Rodgers said. “It’s unfortunate because he was looking forward to going and getting some game time.

“Unfortunately it didn’t work out that way so he’s back here and in training. It’s very difficult. Efe’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever come across.

“I’ve not known so many players who, when they’re not playing or not even featuring, knock on my door so many times and tell me how much they’re enjoying it.

“Telling me how much he’s enjoying the training and how much he feels he’s getting better in training.”

Rodgers added: “You don’t normally get that nowadays but he’s one of the nicest guys in the world, which is why I always want the best for him and his family.

“If he’s not going to be here at Celtic we want to prepare him for the next opportunity.”

Chrisantus – Osimhen Suffering What I Witnessed At Hamburg, Three Coaches In A Year

Former World Youth Championship top scorer Macauley Chrisantus says Victor Osimhen is battling same issues that stopped him from fulfilling his potentials at German club Hamburg.

Just like Chrisantus in 2007, Osimhen moved to German side Wolfsburg after emerging as top scorer at the U-17 World Youth Championship in 2015.

Osimhen only recently became eligible to represent the team in competitive games after clocking 18 in January but in his one year stay at the club, he has already worked with two coaches following the sacking of Dieter Hecking and Valerin Ismael.

Only yesterday the club appointed their third coach of the season in Andreas Jonker, and according to Chrisantus, constant managerial changes during his time at Hamburg didn’t help his career growth, same thing he fears could happen to Osimhen.

” I worked under 5 coaches in my first year at Hamburg. It’s funny because just when you think you are winning the heart of the coach. He is replaced by another”, Chrisantus told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” I fear the worst for Osimhen, three coaches in one year with Wolfsburg. Not quite ideal for his growth, moreso when you consider the fact that the Sporting Director who influenced his signing is no longer at the club.

” But he is a strong lad, stronger than me back in the days. So am trusting him to succeed where I couldn’t, he has all it takes to succeed.”

Why should we make the same silly mistake? That it happened before does not make it right. I agree with the rest of what u said sha.

We are fond of disgracing our heroes out of the team.

(See Cute Photo) – Iheanacho Models Manchester City New Italian Suit

Manchester City have unveiled their new club suit designed by Italian fashion brand DSQUARED2.

The club revealed photos of the unveiling with Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho leading the pile in an all black three piece suite, which will serve as their pre match outfits for away Champions League matches.

Commenting on the unveiling of the suit, founders and designers of DSQUARED2, Dean and Dan Caten said: “We wanted the players to feel as confident in this suit as they do when they pull on their team jersey.

“Every element of the DSQUARED2 for Manchester City suit is designed to show modern tailoring sophistication: from its Italian refined wool fabric and the sartorial skill used in construction, and the contemporary fit, it’s a statement of masculine elegance.”
