information1:
In another dramatic raid, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Oyo/Osun Command, has seized 9,000 bags of imported rice in a warehouse in a market in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The Controller, Temitope Ogunkua, who promised to stop illegal importation of goods, said during the night raid of the warehouse in an undisclosed Ibadan market, one suspect was arrested.

The seizure of the 9,000 (50kg) bags of smuggled imported rice had a duty paid value of N88,776,000.00,The Nation reports.
He said the seizure of the rice and any other products proved to be smuggled into the country illegally was in line with Section 147 of Customs and Excise Management Act, 1990 as amended.

“A total of 9000 (50kg) bags of smuggled imported rice with a duty paid value of N88,776,000.00 was seized and evacuated from a warehouse by the Command’s anti-smuggling team in conjunction with the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone A few weeks ago”.

Ogunkua said the command would not rest on its oars in playing strategic roles of revenue collection, trade facilitation and border security.

Please is this the change apc promise this poor ones Please I want to ask a very god question has Nigeria got to a stage of able to plant enough rice for her citizen

I can't remember when last Nigerians has experience this its very unfortunate. You can block everything when you are still struggling to survive doing such its obvious you will crash definitely. A very sensible govt will be doing all necessary things to be done bit by bit till they achieve their aim at the long run but not in Nigeria everything is hurry and by force by power especially under this apc useless govt. Well 2019 is lading apc will be so disappointed, every blessed day apc keep adding more pains to Nigerians woes.

Nigeria Customs and Fabu?! cheesy

This same rice that will be shared amongst the officers and end up in the marketgrin

I'd prefer headlines like "Customs donate 10 trailer loads of rice to an IDP camp" instead of allowing those poor fellows wallow in abject poverty!

Lol. Don't be pessimistic now. There's change in the air.

Personally, I'd rather they burn the seized bags of rice. Plastic rice is not fit for consumption and I'm sure they are plastic rice from China.

I ate enough of it last Christmas, chai... My ass was almost moulding out plastic plates and spoons anytime I had to go.... embarassed cry

When some people from the SW shouted hoarse against Peter Pbi when he complained about such harrasments during the Yuletide.

Karma is a sexy bittch that will alwats give you your own f**k at the right time

If going by your account, this is what Peter Obi's complaint is about (i.e. smuggled Rice), then that makes him an irresponsible citizen......

It's time for the yoruba traders to cry and lament and possibly do nakkkked pole-dancing in front of the government house. grin
After all they supported customs when they harassed SE and SSners travelling to the East with bags of rice during Christmas period.
#KarmaIsSweet.
Their fat yoruba mothers should come up the dancing stage and shake their bum-bums for us while lamenting to high heavens. grin grin grin grin
Are criminals celebrated in the SW as well?

Shey?

1. APC promised to rid the country of corruption - Smuggling = Corruption
2. A very sensible govt will not kill the market it hopes to enable, by allowing such market to be filled with smuggled rice.
3. I notice that you can't spell. Did APC inflict that on you as well?

Why do I Need A Custom Clearing Agent?

If this is also your question, you are also in the right place.

Lets think about this for a moment...

Imagine the risk of keeping millions at home, if there were no banks.
Its very possible to keep cash at home but the risk is unbearable.

In the same way, there are licensed agents available for you to
have a problem free clearance.

Here Are 2 Reasons Why You Need Them

1) They have a reputation among the customs.
Hence, clearing agents are prioritised above individuals.

2) Documentation is a very critical procedure; as as incomplete
Information can stop your import and export instantly.

What you Gain

1) They get you added documents that the customs authority
demand when you did not plan it.

2) They help you document exactly what the customs need.

3) You gain good insurance services.

4) Due to their good knowledge of the industry and its
most recent changes you have the confidence that it
will be a successful import and export.

* You can now import successfully without worries.

I will continue to mention ibo until Nigerians, Africans and the rest of the world know what they are.

For decades ibo people used Nigerians head and the passport to commit ( and still commit) the worst attrocities on this planet while other Nigerians are suffering for it. If not because Nigerians believe in god and are almost stu pidly fogiven by nature ibo people will have been dealt with seriously by now.

there is no country on this planet where Nigerian drug dealers and criminals operate that ibo are not centre stage.

If you do the research as I'be done it you will find that violence and humiliation facing nigerians and other africans around the world is caused by the activities of ibo people.
Nigerians are just too stud pid to figure it out!
