Instead if them to equip the school's to be agile enough go run two sessions a year, they keep limiting and making education seem like it's a big deal.

Before you quote me to say dumb stuff, do a quick google search and see how many sessions schools in US, UK, Germany run in a year.

I think JAMB is been smart since the result validity has been extended to three years. The student who graduate newly won't take advantage of the extension.

Ah! eleyi ti suceed. You know, this guy is trying to help the nigerian education system. Go to schools, universities, polytechnics these days you will see many prematured boys and gurls stressed up with school protocols and stuffs which they cant cope with, by the way its not their fault, but its because of their age, some of them still needs to be trained and make more matured before entering school, so that they can blend when they get there. There are so many other reasons like that for this children get more matured before getting admitted. So i think the development is a welcome idea.

If you see the underage children being churned out of secondary schools these days you will appreciate this move. Let them mature first within this one year and get to truely know themselves outside the school environment before they make the once in a lifetime decision on which career to pursue

This is gonna be a big blow to students without o level result who are presently running pre degree programme in various Nigeria University.

The best way to gain admission into a university with out jamb is through Part time Degree programme. Am gonna be writing an article to that effect.

u tink so but itz not...God 4bid...itz not only dem rewriting...majority of d pple are rewriting their exam due to d cancellation of post utme...and u know combination of result will not b allowed very soon...so I tink itz a bad idea

Will only work for one year. You will scream at the number of GCE candidates in September. Even JS 3 candidates will try it. Most Ss3 students will now pass GCE in SS 1 courtesy Miracle centres.

With effect from this year (2017), candidates awaiting results would no longer be eligible to apply for the Universities Tertiary Matriculation Examination, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, said in Abuja on Tuesday.

The organisation also said it had concluded all restructuring and reforms and is now set to commence the sale of its application document in March.

The restructuring exercise will now allow for only one choice of public university in which new registration platform will now be first choice, second choice, third choice and fourth choice and not most preferred, preferred choice.

A statement by the spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the agency had taken time to add value to the services it have been offering to Nigerians for over three decades.

According to him, the restructuring was aimed at expanding the opportunities available to candidates since almost all the public universities do not consider candidates on the second choice list because they hardly exhaust their first choice.

He said, “We have designed a Central Admissions Processing System where the Board will interface with the institutions and ensure the compliance of this reform. The summary is that no candidate will be admitted with awaiting result.

Candidates and their parents are also to note that JAMB has restructured the registration platform to allow for only one choice of public university. The new registration platform will now be first choice, second choice, third choice and fourth choice and not most preferred, preferred etc as it was.

“Candidates’ first choice can be a College, University, Innovative Enterprises Institutions or Polytechnic/Monotechnic. However, if a candidate makes a Public University his first choice, he will not have any public University to choose for second, third and fourth choice.

He will have on the remaining three choices, a College, Polytechnic, Private University and IEI’S. However, candidates for the 2017 UTME can now select National Certificate in Education (College) or National Diploma (Polytechnic/Monotechnic) as their first choice up to third choice and the fourth IEI. They can select the IEI (Innovative Enterprise Institution, ND) as their first choice up to the fourth choice, but can only pick a public university once.”

Students should be allowed to chose more than one public university. In some countries, you can send your application to up to 7 universities sef, Na was for 9ja o!
