It depends really on your score as it is right now, without her IELTS score. If you can share that, we can compare it to the trend from the past few weeks and advice accordingly. Dandav1215: |

boldinc: Thanks @BoldInc.. I'm putting all necessary documents in check. Haven't started the application process yet. I just want to get all the necessary information I will be needing so I can be well informed. My wife will be taking the IELTS exam come April and if she does better, I might make her the principal applicant. Thanks BOSS!!!! I really appreciate the time you spent writing back. Cheers... |

Timhortons: Thanks Bro even though I am not an engineer...lol But seriously speaking I understand every bit of what you saying. Though it's better one gets all the info of CA b4 arrival, It's still okay you got to findout when you reach there, it's just to adjust and move on. An online friend of mine in calgary has since be telling me that short course certification and diploma are the way to go. She advised against masters as it's really expensive and not a guarantee. Please do you know the prospects for occupational health in a school like NAIT/SAIT + what's the accommodation cost like in calgary. |

@bigheadday As rightly advised, you don't need an agent. Doing that may end up complicating matters for you. This is a DIY forum with plenty success stories. Kick-start application for your credential assessment NOW, don't procrastinate. Prepare well for your IELTS. All the best! 1 Like |

@ Esosa4Real I think for health courses you should check out BVC (Bow valley college) ,U of C or Mount royal university as NAIT/SAIT are good polytechnic and you might not likely get the best from them or else you intend to study engineering and above all make sure it is a Diploma. Accommodation in Calgary varies but try to avoid NE,If you are single try and look for a shared apartment where you can combined bills pending when you stabilize and get a good job. @Danoluwa I guess Geomatic Engineering is a part of Geology,It is good and you can even look out for GIS (Geographic Information System). The truth of the matter is you will not go for courses like Petroleum Engineering that will get you a job in Fort Mcmurray in a big Oil company and when Oil prices go down, you will be laid off while you have enough and steady bills to pay. That was why I suggested Power Engineering as you have a slot in Oil and Gas and other major companies. Have a nice one guys 3 Likes |

Hi All....pls a quick question. I have been seeing questions about taking out some employment in work history but leaving in personal history but i dont understand. I actually did put almost all the jobs i have held in the work history section and now it asks me for reference from all. Pls how do i know which isn't generating points for me to take out. Secondly is this still doable if i have started uploading some docs. Furthermore can i modify the funds available as opposed to pre-ITA e.g For a family of 3, i put 25000CAD pre-ITA but i now wanna change it to 20000CAD (18k plus is required) so as to be rather safe than sorry though we plan on trying to show pof of funds more than that. Thanks as all info is highly appreciated. 1 Like |

I am not sure about details on uploading your documents on the OINP website, but there should be instructions on what can or can't be done. However, to be on the safe side, visit www.pdfmerge.com and merge the 4 attachments to one document. It's pretty easy and straight forward. Lemme know if this helps... Beckyhopeful: |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by boldinc(m): 3:42am On Mar 01, 2017 |
That is recommended only when you can't 'easily' get reference letters from some of the companies listed. If you can get reference letters for all, you might as well upload all but if not, input details of the ones accessible only... However, IT(ARE) MUST AMOUNT TO THE REQUIRED 3 YEARS WORK EXPERIENCE CUMMULATIVE. So if your current job experience for example is over 3 years, you can use that alone. You can modify the funds aspect, but make sure it is within the respective range on the CIC website. damidamsel: |

Timhortons:Why do alot of people in alberta rush into power engineering/boiler operation? This was a good career path years ago till everyone rushed into it cos of the money and the gist about how easy the job is...lol. In my own understanding, the supply of boiler operators is now more than the demand for it. If i start to talk wetin my guys eyes don see in chasing the power engineering dream despite d diplomas from nait/sait/red river. chai. well 2 have returned to school for something else sha. Anyone thinking of power engr. as a career should visit power engineer central dot ca to check what the job market is like these days, so as to make an informed decision. At my workplace-a large utility coy, power engineers get paid the most..i am hoping i retire into power engineering...they get paid like kilode , but a candidate would need at least a 2nd class ticket+plus minimum 5 years experience+very strong family/insider connection+serious God's grace to get an interview. 10 years ago, we would be begging someone with a 4th class to consider working for us. i heard the last vacant position received over 700 resume! Timhortons:For starters and cheap accomodation, NE is not bad. There are lots, I mean lots of nigerian professionals that live and own houses in NE. i mean Doctors, pharms, physios, accountants e.t.c This same NE is better than our so called Victoria island or Ikoyi in Naija... Geomatics(land surveyor-tech) a branch of Civil engineering is still very good although a difficult course. Geomatics was also affected by the oil glut like all other engineering careers (from instrumentation to power), but a lot of student from this program still get jobs even before grad. Aslong as there is construction, there would be geomatics techs. I know of at least 2 international students. one naija and the other an indian both secured jobs same month of grad last year. GIS sha. i dont know much about that one..i am just an end user of gis programs. I know some of our gis specialist at work (the go to guys) wen we mess up have diplomas from various background commonly Geomatics, EDDT and Elect. Danoluwa: See above. If you settle for Geomatics and are young at heart: a. the degree if you want to become an Engineer with a ring, nice office and a PEng status (4-5 years). b. If you can't put in the years and just want to be a field tech guy in the dirt making money surveying routes of oil pipelines, electric powerlines, highways, construction sites e.t.c or a drafter in the office, then go for the 2-3 years diploma at a technical college (google polytechnics Canada). 1 Like 1 Share |

Please I have a question. Going by the requirements for proof of funds: An Official Letter issued by my financial institution indicating my financial profile. I have two bank accounts: savings and current with my bank. Do I have to provide a letter and statement for both accounts regardless of which one has the POF amount? |

shinarambo1: Thanks bro!! Do you know anything about Occupational Health? And it's prospects in Alberta. Apart from Nait/Sait what are the other good diploma schools for health-related courses. I presume that occupational health would be great in Alberta because of the several engineering and mechanical firms abound. Thanks again, |
