Concerning blockchain unconfirmed transaction issues... Here is what u can do, from personal experience (althought i'm leaving have blockchain).

1. Pls when sending do not use blockchain default transaction fee except u wanna wait for 2day (people have waited more than that self) and if u dare decrease it because ur btc is not adequate then ur transaction may never be confirmed, what u do is increase it till u see estimated confirmation time as 10 mins and 1 block in bracket (blockchain will also recomment a "high fee" for you)

2. If someone sends u bitcoin using blockchain and its taking time to confirmed. There is something u can do but only if u also use blockchain. U can send it out like that as unconfirmed but pls do number 1, that is use a high transaction fee and see it confirmed immediately both d one u send and d one u received.

3. U can increase transaction confirmation time by using "viabtc"

I hope this helps u... All the above worked for me

If the strangers that sent to you did not want for confirmation before sending.. If you like increase the fee to 100$.. You are just making the miners richer

wat I do is to multiply the coins by the the rate on blockchain to get the true value.
P.s I now use coinbase.
