hi all,

This this thread is amazing and a God send. God bless all of you who have contributed with answers and advice. Thank you all.

My husband had his biometric enrolment on the 14th Feb 2017, I sent the documents by Special delivery and they were received and collected on the 21st Feb. Now they said we have 2 weeks to send our supporting documents, but on the 28th Feb, hubby received an email stating they had not received our supporting documents. My body instantly got hot and I started worrying. I am not sure what to do other than pray, the UKVI phone people were not very helpful as they have no role or access to contacting Sheffield.

I am not really sure what to do. any advice has this happened to anyone before?

HOUSE @JUSTWISE I need your help my spouse mistakenly sent our supporting document for spouse visa to uk operations and immgration international PO BOX 3468 s38wa sheffield embarassed instead of UK Visa and Immigration
Sheffield Visa Section
Vulcan House Iron, Floor 4
6 Millsands
Sheffield
S3 8NH
i got a mail from Sheffield saying my supporting document was not received that i have only 10 working days to send my document to this address above i really dont know what to do and how to get my document back from this PO BOX 3468 S38WA SHEFFIELD which i was told to send it too at Victoria island where i submitted my passport house please help me i dont have 1200 pounds again .......... thanks @justwise

What did you eventually do? I sent the supporting documents to *International Operation and Visa, Home Office, UK Boarder Agency, UK VISAS AND IMMIGRATION, P.O. Box 3468, Sheffield, S3 8WA*. That's where we were told to send it by the VAC and on the TSL website. I believe we sent it to the right address, my hubby received an email on the 28th stating we should send it to the Vulcan House too.

What are you planning on doing?

Prayer ke? This matter pass prayer oooo......... Where did you send documentations to?

It seems a common trend of applicants sending documents to the wrong place.

What you do to remedy is - :
(1) Send SAE paid (next day delivery) to the wrong address you sent it to (with your application reference, contact telephone number + a brief letter)
(2) Send Vulture house an email explaining your error, and remedies taken and plead for more time for redirection (not unless you have an extra £1200 in your back pocket, for another application)
(3) In your letter to the wrong address, request either a telephone call or email, the moment redirection is effected (plead and beg for this, for your peace of mind)......

But it can't have gone to the wrong place. I sent to yo the place the VAC and TSL contact said we should send the application. Could they have provided the wrong address? The email is automated which makes me think perhaps they haven't been able to process the documents into their system. I will write a letter and do what you said though. It's just frustrating.

Have you requested vulture house to confirm receipt?

I have sent them a letter explaining the situation, with the tracking receipt, TSLcontact with the PO BOX address, the address slip received from the VAC just to clarify this was not human error on my part sent the same letter to the PO BOX address.

I sent an email form to UKVI and they have said they will escalated the issue. i'll probably send an envelope tomorrow as you suggested again with a note.

My husband is British and so are our kids.
We plan on relocating to the UK hence the spousal.
How do I meet the financial requirement if my spouse lives here in Nigeria with me without having £62,500? The £18,600 naira equivalent does it have to be in the sponsor's account for 6 months prior to application?
Pls help me, this is the hurdle.

The only thing the tribunals require is evidence that I own a property which from the rental income I receive, I pay tax on

so basically all they need is Land registry papers that I own a property and self assessment forms from my accountant or HMRC that I pay tax on the rental income I receive. I can easily obtain this from the council and HMRC/Accountant because that is all they require at the hearings. The rest they are satisfied on.

However what is sad is that the document was stamped on May 2016, and its taken nearly a year for it to come to our house. Even the UK did not know the time frame because all the documents were sat in INDIA!

In all you submit remember ' the 28 day rule ' and apply it where necessary.
You already have a date for the appeal hearing, simply request new dated documents.
The land registry deeds would have been issued, not long after completion of the property purchase.
Simply request your accountant to draw up new in date documents.
If I was in your position, I would simply submit all documents again (from the initial time of rejection to appeal date, circumstances might have changed)....
Submit all documents again, clearly label them and use highlight pen where necessary........ .. .. (supercharge your documentations)..... ...
NB: I hope your taxation on the rental income is/was on point?

The £62,500 is savings you have, if you do not have such savings, sweating in your bank account or hiding in the soakaway, forget this option..........
The £18,600 means the sponsor needs to be resident in the uk, paying his taxes in the uk & gainfully employed in the UK.
For this application to progress, the sponsor needs to relocate to the UK and start working towards accumulating all the pre-requisites, required for a successful application.
For any additional child £18,600 + £2400 + £2400 etc etc must be the sponsors earning strength........ . .... .

- 6 months payslips + bank statement + other financial prerequisites (not forgetting the 28 day rule)

Leeds to London is almost 170 miles driving, cost by train would be in the region of £120 return daily. Work out the cost and distance, and would such transportation expenses reflect on his bank statements ?

Why does he not want to use his present accommodation ?

thanks bruff for being so prompt . God bless you.

his uncle just offered yesterday when he asked whats holding us back and he explained that even though the kids have their british passports now, he needs to meet accommodation requirement and financial requirement so he said "oh you can use our other house in Leeds for your application. i just sent the tenant out". he currently lives with this same uncle in hertfordshire, very close to london who thinks he shouldn't rent until we are all over there to save money.

our initial plan was for hubby to rent a 2bedroom 2/4weeks to my application.

thats why i am asking that will using an accommodation in leeds versus him working in London work for my spousal visa?

so we know if thats sorted or we stick to initial plan?

pls help

Good evening House!

I just want to say, you guys are God sent! Your comments here have helped a lot of people including myself and my spouse. Oga Lexus I hail ooh!!
I am one of them silent followers.
So my wife and I got married in 2015 . I did the "return to naija" thinking naija was the place to come to in 2013, oh boi it is a hard place all those uncles who promised you big jobs and connections omo no one helped. only person that helped was for nysc.

After getting married in 2015 and a baby on the way, I decided to move back to the UK, I got a Job and earning good money 45k and above. Unlike the miserable N100,000 naira per month in naija, lol 2 nites in sip pay. So my wife came to visit in 2016 she gave birth to my child at a hospital we didnt pay nhs nothing and we were not charged. my wife and child moved back to naija

So that birth thing made me afraid that they would refuse my wife spousal visa as per nhs treatment on visiting visa but speaking to people they encouraged us to put in for the application as both my child and myself are british and nhs no charge us. I ticked all the financial criteria plus all the other criteria's

I attached photos, ticket print outs, our dubai holiday photo's and tickets with our baby, bank statement pay slips etc
Timeline(wife non priority)

Online application submited- Dec 24th 2016
Biometrics - Dec 29th 2016
Documents sent-4th Jan 2017
Documents returned- Feb 10th 2017
Decision made email- Feb 24th 2017
Passport ready email- Feb 24th 2017(at 6.30pm made us wait the whole weekend)
Passport picked- Feb 27 2017(Visa stamped 22st Feb)

Now to book ticket for my wife and child!!! Goodluck to everyone applying.
