Hello my name is Paul Samuel... I am a Health Blogger.....

So today I decided to create a thread for those struggling with certain predicaments which may be exercising to keep fit... Trying to eat better to stay off fat.. trying to control belly fat. or trying to build abs or whatever you are struggling with right now ..

Simply relate with it here and I will share directives from my health blog and other sources to make sure you start living the healthy way of life....

I never thirst for water but I can drink 5 bottles of beer everyday and my tummy is still flat. And some times I feel like I'm burning from the inside while my body temperature remains normal. What can you advise?

Okay... very interesting

I am going to give you a reply based on my experience and results from other sources...

First are you sick... as an illness can zap your appetite.. e.g malaria...

From my experience.. I can relate with stress and depression.. which affects your appetite....

Changes in your eating habits may be related to other symptoms of depression, such as fatigue and a lack of pleasure from activities. Many people with depression lose both energy and interest. This can include a loss of interest in eating.

Try eating with a friend or at a friends house: You know that friend that makes you smile every time you visit or she visits you... Try eating in her house or eat with her more often.... This helps reduce depression and increase your appetite

Medications may also affect your appetite as some antibiotics and drugs affect your taste buds.... If medications are the problem then you should talk to a pharmacist or your doctor....

Try eating smaller meals... like you can try eating smaller meals 7 times a day rather than 3 large meals.. This helps to improve your appetite and get your appetite back on track

Drink plenty of water: Dehydration can cause appetite loss. Aim to drink six to eight 8-ounce glasses of water every day..

Trying taking snacks or light food regularly: Foods like Bread (soft bread) may help increase your appetite as these foods are easily consumed

Increase the flavor of food: Try eating more aromatic foods, I mean those food that make your nostrils to start jumping... these will help increase your appetite..

So What I am saying is that..

You should look at yourself and ask what is reducing your appetite for food... Has this been happening for sometime now or is it recently?

Then check yourself... What is food looking unattractive to you?

Are you depressed or stressed recently... is so much going on recently in your life that you can't think about eating?

Is the food not aromatic enough to attract your nostrils and brain and make your salivate

Eating is like a task to me.
I even retch while forcing meals down my throat.
Wish they made liquid food I could just drink all the required balanced diet.

Okay... I believe the reason why this is going on continuously is because your mind as registered reading as a medium for sleeping...

But first... how did this start? were you reading for an exam or paper and feel asleep regularly...

Sleeping disorders can affect your daily living by reducing your mind's effectiveness and efficiency... affecting your eating... creating an eating disorder making you eat more or less daily....

Now.... I want to know what you are asking...

Is this reading before sleeping affecting your life badly and you are looking for another alternative to how you can sleep and sleep well??

The reason why you feeling like you are burning inside but body temperature remains normal might be linked to these

High Metabolism

When your metabolism is higher, you tend to run warmer. Metabolism is a natural body process that breaks down the foods you eat, sending energy out to your cells so you can function. When you are burning calories, your body may feel hot but no fever is present. Certain people are more sensitive to this process.

Other Symptoms: If you feel hot and have a high metabolism, you may notice other things like thin body type, you get hungry often, and sleep very little.

What You Can Do: People who have a high metabolism need to make sure they drink plenty of fluids. You should also stay in the shade when you are out in the heat. Dress in cool layers, and avoid exercise on really hot days.

The chemical in chili peppers, capsaicin can trigger your nervous system when receptors in your tongue sense the spicy food. Your nervous system thinks it is being exposed to heat all over and not just your mouth.

Other Symptoms: When you eat something hot, it can trigger reactions all over your body like heavy sweating, flushing and increased blood flow.

What You Can Do: Try to practice stress relief techniques like rhythmic breathing, meditation, organize your tasks with a list, and get into a cool place when working on stressful projects. Anxiety

When you are feeling anxious, your body releases all kinds of chemicals to activate your "fight or flight" response. Hyperthyroidism

Your thyroid is a gland located in your neck that helps control your body's temperature, metabolism, and other body processes. It produces hormones and when those hormone levels get too high you are considered to have hyperthyroidism. This can cause a faster metabolism and increase in body temperature.

Other Symptoms: If you are suffering from hyperthyroidism you may also have diarrhea, hair falling out, increased blood pressure, fast heartbeat, insomnia, and weakness.

What You Can Do: Call your doctor. This condition can have complications and needs to be treated. There are medications and other treatments available to calm down your thyroid. It is diagnosed with a simple blood test and you will have your results within a few days.

I think I caused it. It started when I started working late into the night, I developed a certain interest in a particular content writer and made it my nightly routine to read one or two of his articles before sleeping. Now, even though I've long dusted that author and few of his works, it has become part of me. I cannot sleep without reading. Its so bad that even after sex and I'm very tired, I still have to pick up a book or open an online article to read inorder to help me doze off and a few females I know find it super weird.

Ofcourse its affecting my life cos I get up at 5am daily no matter when I fall asleep. My mind have been programmed to get up at 5 and as a result of this, I'm always too tired during working hours and at the end of the day, I always feel like I carried the whole wide world on my shoulder. I've ruled out pills cos I don't wanna jump from one addiction to another, I just wanna be able to shut my eyes and sleep.

Chewing gum is actually recommended for smokers to help with smoking and chewing gum helps for mouth odours and helps exercises the mouth...

So my dear it might not be a bad habit..

but it seems that you want to stop it.... So what you are going to do is create alternatives...

To break a habit you have to be determined to do so and secondly you have to isolate yourself (hide yourself) from such a habit)..

So here is what is going to happen

Whenever you feel the urge to chew gum.. go the a store and buy tom tom or any other sweet that you can lick... don't do this everyday or the sweet will turn to another habit... but if you feel like chewing gum everyday then do this..

Whenever you feel the urge to chew gum.. get a book.. (it might be a romance novel... relationship book, motivational book) and read... read a book that you love to read and requires you concentration as this takes you mind off chewing gum and keeps you busy ...

Stop habits that make you chew gum more..... If you spend most of your time chatting on facebook or whatsapp this may make you want to keep your mouth busy on chewing gum and also if you are mostly with friends chatting all day...

Try doing other things to keep you busy...

Erectile dysfunction might just be a mind thing.... then it might be a problem arising from your body physically.... then it might be a problem arising from your lifestyle... then it might be a problem which may be related to genetics..

Smoking and Drinking...

Well smoking is amplified by one thing.... Social group

I mean your friends.. If you have friends who are non-smokers and have no regard for smoking ... you may be ashamed to bring it near them... as they will like to distance themselves from you due to the fact that you are infecting their system with those fumes..

So you need to distance yourself from your friends and their habits if they are smokers...

Secondly anytime you feel like taking a smoke... instead just chew gum... or lick a sweet.. or go watch a movie.. or read a book... you need to understand that to break the smoking habit may take months or years but you have to be determined... and never go back to the habit no matter how strong the urge is..

Thirdly change your icons... if you are the type that follow lil wayne, rick ross and other known smokers and Nigerian artists known for their agbero ways.. then you need to let go of them for sometime.... you need to change your music likes slowly as this tend to influence and amplify your lifestyle...

Drink Water regularly..

Get a job.... or a laborious hobby ...

If you are not yet employed... get concentrated on getting a job, concentrate on what you want to do with your future and where you want to go... you can follow nairaland.com/newbeginnings as his motivational posts tend to help those who need a way....

Get a hobby which keeps you busy rather than smoking and playing with friends....
