Hello mums, I'm so glad I'm here...I have a lil challenge, I breast fed my son exclusively for 5months and I have resumed work. I decided to give my him pap but he is not eating. I stopped and I gave him only formula milk(similac). He is refusing everything I give. What do I do? Help me

you should have introduced bottle feeding few weeks before you resumed at work as it takes some babies time to adjust to a new meal.

does he take breast milk direct from the nippple or is he rejecting that as well? if he is, then you might need to take him to the hospital to rule out tonsillitis or any infection. once a baby experiences any discomfort swallowing, they usually reject all meals.

if he still breast feeds happily, then you just have to keep trying/experimenting with other meals till he accepts them. for example, you can get someone else to feed him. you can also try more nutritional and better tasting meals like pureed sweet/Irish potatoes mixed with chicken, mixed vegetables like carrots, green peas, etc and see if he accepts.

Good day mama,my son is 16 months and he is still not walking.he only holds things to walk around the house, when he wants to try standing his legs wobbles then he falls.most times we hold him to walk.please what do I do because some months ago when I took him to a doctor I was told to wait till 18 months which is already here.please I need your advice.Am so worried.
Cc: helovesme,

he will be fine. don't worry. the fact the he walks around whilst holding on to objects is a very positive sign.

i really doubt if a baby walker will be of any use at this stage. a 16months old a toddler is keen on exploring and will cry/refuse to stay in the baby walker.

what is his diet like? does he take full cream milk at least once a day? if not, introduce full cream milk into his diet. for example, if he takes cereal, be very generous with the quantity of nido or peak milk. you can also prepare a cup of milk and see if he drinks it. if he doesn't, you can sweeten it a bit with honey. even though he is past 12 months, he needs milk because of all the calcium that's found in milk. calcium is essential for strong bones. also look out for/introduce calcium fortified cereals and add fish to his diet. baby yoghurt, vegetables such as broccoli and green peas are also very good sources of calcium.

i will also suggest you introduce a vitamin D supplement as vitamin D helps in the proper absorption of calcium. if you are already giving him multivitamin syrup, then there is no need for an extra Vitamin D supplement as the multivitamin syrup should also contain vitamin D (please check the label). if he is not on a daily multivitamin, then you should consider introducing one. 'wellbaby' by vitabiotics is a very good brand.

finally, you need to build his confidence. support him while walking. encourage him to stand unsupported for long period and give a big 'yayyyy', clap and cheer him every single thing he stands unsupported (even if its 2 seconds). try not to appear stressed or upset when he wobbles and falls. instead, lift him up, give him a hug, cheer him and then practice the walk again. you can also hold on to a snack and toy and encourage him to come towards you (while cheering him on) to get it.

is it very runny poo ?

it must be his diet.

stop all pureed FRUITS totally (including fruits combo such as baby rice and apple) and see if there is any improvement.

if you notice any improvement, then gradually reintroduce fruits back to his diet but be mindful of the quantity. eg. one slice of apple a day or 3 small slices of banana a day.

It's not runny at all. It's very solid but huge quantity. I had to introduce pureed combo fruits cos his constipation was so bad his doctor had to prescribe an enema last week.

C C you.
Modified* sorry I couldn't find the post.

You could however go into raw food sales it's one of the businesses I think you can do with that amount and get returns immediately! People eat everyday.

Another option is selling drinks, cold drinks is always a catch in this hot weather.

However take a look around the areas you plan on setting up the biz and see whats in demand or you think will move well and start from there good luck sis! Please wish me same o cos I'm setting up something too but daily inflation rate is killing me already and I haven't even started phew. It is well. Adabiafra.

Cc: @Helovesme,

erm. . . . to provide suitable suggestions, please do you mind answering the following questions?

1)what part of nigeria do you stay?
2)what is your educational background?
3)will you describe yourself as an introvert or extrovert?
4)how many kids have you got and what are their ages?
5)will you be able to sort out childcare arrangements during the day as this will allow you focus on your business?
6)what are your hobbies/interests?
7)are you active on social media (especially instagram, twitter and snapchat)
8 ) can you describe yourself as creative or fashionable?

business is not all about buying and selling goods. you can also provide services and make cool cash. for example, organising home lessons for kids is a provision of service. operating a creche is a provision of service.

there is cool cash to be made in Nigeria these days if you know how to go about it.

i will give you a few examples:

1)there is a lady that charges 30,000 a month, £100 a month and $140 a month for people who want to lose weight. all she does is provide meal plan, coaching, mentoring, exercise routine, etc. these services are provided via WHATSAPP!! if you want a face to face consultation, then she charges more. this lady is based in nigeria but she has clients all over the world and she is making cool cash.

her selling point? HERSELF !! she was able to lose weight and she started her business by posting 'before and after pictures' on INSTAGRAM !! from there people started contacting her, she began posting pictures of people on instagram she had successfully coached and lost weight. she is constantly advertising her services on instagram during her FREE instagram account.

now just imagine if she has 5 subscribers a month to her weight loss plan. ignore her rates in pounds and dollars. that's a cool 150,000 NAIRA!! meanwhile, a 'new class' starts every week. so just imagine if she has just 2 customers a week.

2)i found my current tailor from a picture posted by bellanaija on INSTAGRAM. the last time she sewed for me, she charged me 20k for skirt and blouse undecided (express service sha). for non-express service she charges nothing less than 10k and trust me she has got lots of customers. you know the funny thing, SHE DOES NOT SEW!!! all she does is sketch a design (or just shows the customer a previously sketched design) and then she passes it on to the girls she recruited to sew for her (she has got a shop). she also supervises them to make sure the dress is sewn properly.
once a client wears one of designs, she uploads a picture and quickly tags bellanaija. if she is lucky, bellanaija reposts it.

3)you find people on social media selling bowls of assorted stew, soups, jollof rice, etc. i stumbled on one recently that advertises fried snails, panla, fried offals, etc which she packages and ships to clients in Nigeria and all around the world.

starting a business is not always easy. however, if you are good at what you do, versatile and consistent, the business will succeed.

So sorry. You will need to pacify him. Use cool or cold water in bottle to roll over the injection site. Remove excess clothing. .if possible leave him in diaper alone. You might have to give him pcm if he starts to run temperature. A warm bath could calm him down. What works for me is that I lay the baby face down on my laps and run water over the baby's back.
Be ready to do a lot of dancing today. It is well with him and you kiss
