He abolished the regional system, including resource control, in order to selfishly concentrate and consolidate power centrally to himself and his Igbo kinsmen - never imagining northerners could fight back.

Southerners, particularly from the SS & SE complaining and clamouring for restructuring and resource control should not forget that the bane of the their present woes started from one of their own and not from the north.

Students of history would also tell you that: the selective killings of northern leaders and army officers in the Igbo led 1966 coup, Ironsi's failure to take action against the coup plotters, dissolution and unification of the former regions by decree 34 under a unitary system (the basic structure we have inherited till today) and Igbos public celebration, taunting and mocking of northerners over the brutal cold murder their leaders (the Sardauna, Balewa & co) in Jan 1966 Igbo coup, were together a culmination of the factors that led to the counter coup, the July 1966 northern riots and reprisal killings of Igbos, and ultimately the civil war in which even more Igbos died.

In short; Igbos opened the Pandora's box and are the root course of all our wahala today.

[s]You yorubas should purge yourself of the urge to peddle falsehood all over the place.

1) Ironsi was never aware of the coup, your brother coupist Ademoyega who wrote 'why we struck' even confirmed that Aguiyi was sleeping in offshore boats instead of Govt house in Lagos after the 'Igbo coup' due to fears of insecurity. How can a General plan his own insecurity?

2.) Fajuyi never insisted on dying with Aguiyi, he was also marked for excecution like Ironsi, only yoruba revisioists and academic frauds sell that garbage. Fact is, yorubas had fewer soldiers in the army, coupled with your history of cowardice, Hausa and fulanis knew you wouldn't do more than sitting like puppies even if all your leaders were killed in yorubaland.

These are the pure truths!

The end of yoruba revisionism has come. Denying it is equal to delusion, just as screaming 'Igbo coup' have not erased the names of Ademoyega, Olafimihan, ganiyu Adeleke and your other brothers who were part and parcel of the coup. grin

I heard you yorubas lamented and wanted to kill and crucify Major Ademoyega for penning down the truth and documenting the yorubas names therein because it negated the your 'Igbo coup' narratives. grin

Ibos are always hearing things pass down from their lying uncles. cheesy cheesy

Zik, Opara and all ibo top military officers were saints so none of them deserved the fate of Ademulegun, Sardauna, Akintola, Balewa and Oktie-Ebo.
You can keep lying to yourselves, the Northerners never hide the fact up to today about their coup which they rightly directed at those they know were responsible for the coup of Jan '66. Justice served cheesy cheesy cheesy

Why did your yoruba fingers conveniently omit the name of Col. Unegbe in the list of killed politicians and officers? Is it because it will not suit your yoruba narrative of 'Igbo soldiers killed others and left theirs'. grin

yoruba revisionists will always be exposed as the gargantuan frauds they are in this digital age. Beg buhari to ban the internet and close down all non-yoruba owned media houses so your lies will be the only option available for people to consume as it was in the 80s' before this digital age. grin grin

The only Igbo to die in the coup, Lt. Col. Arthur Unegbe, was shot by Anuforo because he was known to be close to Brig. Maimalari and had to be silenced in order to avoid him from raising the alarm

The only Ibo officer killed simply because they perceived him as an obstacle to their dastardly act as he was a close confidante to Maimlari
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1966_Nigerian_coup_d'%C3%A9tat

and also because he refused to hand over the keys to the armoury to these dissidents.
He held the keys to the armoury and the control of armoury was vital to the success of the second phase of the Revolution. When Anuforo asked Unegbe for the keys, he refused and was shot immediately in the presence of his wife Enuma Unegbe.

You are now embracing the truth albeit still struggling. So you even knew an Igbo top officer was killed but you covered it and claimed 'OH THEY KILLED OTHERS AND LEFT THEIRS' until I plastered it your dishonest yoruba revisionist face. grin

Now we both accept that Col. Unegbe an IGBO OFFICER's name was on the list of coup plotters just like other unfortunate leaders and officers. Have you ever asked yourself why the 'Igbo coup' plotters didn't they just say to Unegbe- 'Nna give us the keys to the armory since we are all Ndigbo and we want to kill off other leaders, you are important to this mission'?

Didn't you yoruba paint all Igbos of 60s' as 'Tribalists who would jump at opportunity to snatch power'. What ever happened to that narrative? cheesy

You mean Unegbe wouldn't have wanted to help his own Igbo people to easily snatch power, since (in your yoruba skulls)- 'It was an 'Igbo coup'? grin
