you r tenant wife if true, do not know about that law, she must surely appease ani before her husband will touch her. in fact, most Igbo men don't forgive such abomination coz their lives are at stake here. see , Immediately an Igbo man pays your bride price, u automatically become his. no other man must touch u coz he will die if he sleeps with her or even eat her food until ani is appeased.
our nsukka brethren cleverly twist this part of our tradition in d sense that if a woman sleeps with another man, d woman will die or go mad.
if u are an Igbo man reading this and u don't know it b4, if your wife slept with another man, and later fvck u without first appeasing ani,my brother , u are a gonner. It is an abomination!

Of course he never forgave her because if he did, he wouldn't be beating her daily. To go out na wire for the said wife. That's why I pity her at times even when I shouldn't because she brought the coal on herself in the first place.

Anyway, all you've done is to support my claim that the village chiefs oversee such matters in the East.

Wait, you want me to tell you more about them?

The funny thing I can't seem to understand why some ibo would come here to tell us ibo women who have been known to be promiscuous and often fill most of the brothels would change after marriage. That's one huge lie!

The fact that Yoruba doesn't hide such matter and expose the shame for everyone to see while ibo tends to cover their shame doesn't negate the fact that ibo women are promiscuous.

LOL!

This ibo man is defending the known promiscuity of the ibo ladies to me.. Who doesn't know ibo girls are the most promiscuous out there? I even gave you a case study of our tenant. Till today, the tenant told no one apart from those who were around when the matter happened knows about it. Do you think such would have happened if it was a Yoruba man in question? I can tell you everyone would have heard about it and even the man's family would have come to drive the said woman out but no, our sissy ibo of a tenant kept quiet except to vent out his frustration by beating the wife to pulp everyday. Sometimes, I pity the wife.

Why don't you deny that your village chiefs don't oversee such matter make thunder fire you from there.. Yeye.

Well, I'm sure you caught them red handed.Just wondering why a tenant will reveal such to co-tenants. I know you're lying, but continue cheesy grin

As we speak one of my colleague a Yoruba man has got another family in the Naija Delta while his wife in Lagos is yet to be aware of it. grin grin. This is coming after another lady aborted for him twice.Just like you postulated, the Yoruba media will soon "carry" the News. Iranu

Well, their children told me.

I asked why their uncle isn't around and they told me he's been sent back to the village because he got naked with their mum. Those that were around knows about it though.

Tbh, the man doesn't flirt around and all, so I can't say if he's promiscuous or not, maybe that's why he feels justified beating the wife.

You can't comprehend, right?

I mean the husband hides their shame when his wife commits adultery unlike Yoruba men who tends to expose such acts.

So you actually think your prostituting ibo sister would change after marriage? LOL

Just wondering why such exposure ain't doing nothing to curb the promiscuous activities of your women in their matrimonial homes. Many bastards have been reported from such promiscuity down SW.

If there's no evil, there wouldn't be something called "world". Our own is to keep exposing such acts rather than cover such shame unlike the ibos.

And who told you there are no bastards in the SE? Many ibo husbands don't even know of the several bastards they have in the family or may even know but are too sissy to expose it and just ignore it altogether while using their wife to vent out their frustration. No wonder Ibo men often beat their wife. Even Chinua achebe described the beating of wife with a glee in his book "things fall apart". Obviously, he had no problem with such acts.

You keep talking about Igbos not exposing cheating partners like it sort of gives you a ground for argument. Some cultures in igbo land have Ome n'ala that address such issues, there's no need for Magun. And the wife cannot be smart enough to hide it.The man also will bear the full weight of the oracle if he doesn't expose a cheating wife. You need to travel and immerse more in other cultures. You don't just sit with a bowl of amala and broom -whipped awedu to spew basically the experiences from other people (whether it's the truth or not). Its a fact that you guys don't value your marriages. The high rate of divorces is among your people. It's one thing to be promiscuous and another to be too careless about it.You people are too careless. Several bastards have been reported in your marriages.

But I thought you first claimed you have no chiefs who oversee such things? But in our case, the court/family oversee such matter.

BTW, I don't condone adultery, if a man/woman feels he/she can't deal with such thing nor trust his spouse anymore and feels he/she can't continue, then the marriage should be dissolved. I feel for the children who would lose their parents but one's happiness is the most important and as long as the children are still being cared/supported by both parents even after the annulment.

Lol. The Igbos have a lot of taboos. All your claims here are lies about Igbos not addressing adultery publicly. All you want to hear is that your tenant chase his wife, despite you never witnessed what happened first hand. Pray tell, and if he chase the wife who will accept her in? Your folks gats no issue with bringing such women in as seen from the situation report on this thread. After all the said lady slept with her ex husband in her matrimonial bed. I'm not surprised though, I have heard and seen worst things happen in your marriages.

My igbo sisters are aware that infidelity is a taboo and carries heavy repercussions. They are not as lucky as your women who still get more chances to remarry again and again after several adulteries. It's no taboo in your place.

Well, I don't have problem if he choose to chase her or not, it's about what he's comfortable with however I have problem with him beating her everyday. If he can't forgive her, then he should let her go. The wife almost ran away at one time but the husband forced her back in. That's even worse. I told him my mind one day that he should at least act responsible in front of the kid instead of beating his wife in front of them.

If a man/woman can forgive such acts and pretend like it never happened, why not? But bottling up the emotion until the point when they can't take it anymore and kill the spouse in the process is what I oppose yet some ibo would come here to tell us how ibo women don't commit adultery when they actually do but their husband chose to keep quiet about it.

Igbo women do mess up, but not as bad as your women. That's my argument here.

As for your tenant, many Igbos are Catholics and will not seek dissolution of marriage on infidelity ground.I don't know their faith, but my guess is that they may be Catholics. Its best the husband separates from her.

If my wife should mess up today(God forbid) , I will never divorce her. I will separate, yes! But will never remarry.
