The reward system that pegs minimum wage at N18, 000 for civil servants, while state governors rake in “as much as N2 billion” as bogus security vote is antithetical to Nigeria’s anti-corruption campaign, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu has said. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/225201-ekweremadu-condemns-governors-security-votes-demands-n50000-minimum-wage.html Lalasticlala, Mynd44 |

Ekweremadu should go and take several seats at the back jhor. They are all thieves, how much does he take home as DSP every month. See kettle calling pot black, imagine how he refused mentioning the bogus amount of money the so called legislooters take home every month. Our major problem in this country is that about 40% of the budget goes to running of govt. little is spent on capital projects and education, even that little is finally looted by these vagabonds in power. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

People have a myopic way of appearing to pick faults and attack the bearer of a message rather than evaluate and weigh the message on its merits. The dolts are still the first to approve federally approved victimisation of the opposition by saying that when the opposition is in power then they should also victimise the current ruling party. Now they cannot listen or consider Ekweremadu's input, rather they are hung up on NASS earnings. I wonder how they reason the way they do...such a pity 1 Like 1 Share |

Speaking further, the Deputy Senate President, made case for decentralization of the anti-corruption fight to reflect the essence of Nigeria’s federalism. Barawo. |

He complains about the state governor's when just about all Nigerians, irrespective of their political, religious, and ethnic divide, agree the nass constitutes the biggest drain on our lean resources. These crooks work for just over half of the year and recieve over a year's pay with full complements of plum allowances! From revelations, it would take a civil servant on minimum wage over 2000 years to earn a year's pay of a serving senator! Yet, this bastard sees nothing wrong with that. These politicians are downright disgusting. 3 Likes 1 Share |

ovadozes: It's the MO of thieving politicians to unveil superficially pro-people policies like increasing the minimum wage. These serve to distract from their parasitic extraction of national wealth - it's partly why GEJ and Yar'Adua increased the minimum wage from N5k to N18k. If you keep increasing minimum wage, you will simply fuel consumption and dollar demand as a result. What the country needs is to invest in infrastructure which will benefit all Nigerians and will improve the productive capacity of the Nigerian economy. Increasing minimum wage only benefits the tiny proportion of Nigerians who have government jobs. 5 Likes |
