As at today, no big club in Europe will prefer Herrera to kante. Only an idiot will bench kante for herrera in his team.

As of Today, Herrera can confidently perform Kantes role in any team and he has the better passing range and skill set.

Disagree on what?...Let Kante move to Bundesliga and let's see if Vidal won't bully him mercilessly.

We will surely finish the league at 6th.
In his five full seasons in the Premier League, Mourinho-managed teams have always finished in the same position they've found themselves in after 12 matches.

After the 12th league match, we were 6th.
So it's obvious.

All this would be more logical if the club bought Pogba and another quality midfielder. My major issue was it seems the club was more interested in buying marquee names rather than buying players in a systematic way to build a winning team.
I said from the onset that we needed 2 quality midfielders not just 1 marquee midfielder AND the pogba money could have done the job. The same people that were castigating Rooney here for his salary are coming back now to ask "is it your money" when it comes to Pogba. No club has infinite resources and there are funds set aside for player acquisition every year so saying the cost of a player should not concern fans is a bit naive.
It is all in the past now though but we should remember that the best way to spit in someone's face is not buying every big name they are after but to defeat them in the champions league final, ask Dayo what English clubs have done to him in the final cheesy
the running cost of the club is certainly not the concern of the fans because capable hands have been employed to see to it and so far the fortunes continue to rise. We are supporters, our job description is self-defined if you ask me grin grin

You said the club only seem interested in big names but your list of expected arrivals are all big names to me. There will be competition from other serious clubs (not the likes of Arsenal) and the underline is CHEESE..bake the most cheese and take away the prize. It's very simple. This is not about the board but the coaches. There is a new manager and he has had one transfer window only to acquire useful playing staff. He put forth realistic targets and landed them all. We should all be realistic in our demands because we all know this club is still trying to find proper footings.

Oh yeah?

And how's that worked out for you over the last 4 seasons.
Loius van Gaal picked up average and has-beens here and there in a scatter-gun and auction bazaar approach. This is Jose Mourinho's tenure, I'll let you be the judge of that from next season.

I actually believe that Madrid is still very unstable. apart from mourinho, when last did a manager spend more than 2 years there? Madrid has always wanted to be like Barça, have a unique brand of football, breed a lot of academy players to become world class stars such that even those kids turn out to be world class managers. 4 of the world's top 10 current managers are from Barça. They always hire their own.

But despite hiring 23 managers in 25 years, they're still yet to achieve their aim. Chelsea and Manchester United have won more than madrid in the 21st century bar club World Cup.
Madrid has no definitive pattern of football, their academy is yet to breed a world class star. They don't produce coaches from their system. There are already silent rumblings this season about zidane getting the chop because of their wobbles.

Their instability is unmatched. It wouldn't be wise to model success on Madrid. Barça remains the blue print for success in modern football.
you can copy something good and motivating from a person like Adolf Hitler, it doesn't mean you should go HAM on all his "qualities".

Real Madrid has a penchant for the newest shiniest article in the jewellery store and don't care about squad balance. Barcelona isn't without flaws, there's no perfect role models anywhere.

I understand your angle though perfectly.

Fans are not just cheerleaders. True fans have the right if not the obligation to ensure that their clubs are run in a sensible and sustenable manner. There are many clubs which are under fan ownership especially in continental Europe so your take on what fans should and should not do is way off.
Even in this club you have the MU Supporters Clubs which is purely the cheerleading section of the fans and is concerned mainly with chanting "20 times, 20 times" from the Stretford End and then there is the MU Supporters Trust which is made up of fans concerned with the manner in which the club is run in terms of our competitive, cultural and financial health.
I AM NOT AGAINST BIG NAMES. I am against spending boat loads of money without getting commensurate results. Esp when the money could have been spent in a more judicious and efficient manner.
