I am pretty sure even Putin understands that a friendly president won't move America's policy that much. Most people in Washington hates Russia now so any major policy change will be meet with a lot of resistance in both parties

I think qualms with Carson are more directed at the way he made it seem like slaves went to America seeking opportunity at their own will, working for minimum wage or something, he was almost romanticising it.
