Do you have an idea on the sensors that could be used there?

There were some Alouette III in 2013, they would be exported to Zim, the court stopped the transaction.

We can't go from so many reserved helicopters to nothing... It's impossible.

Nowhere is safe. A few days ago they opened up with assault rifles and hacked off a rhino's horn -at the Paris Zoo shocked!

does SA STF train foreign personnel?

your government can make a lot of money off that cos i'm still surprised Nigeria has not shown interest in having an stf type unit.

Uganda only has 50K soldiers

Less men = more money for equipment

Hence why I said it was bad for Nigeria to expand the army to over 100,00 and why I argued for a reduction in the size of the landward arm of the SANDF
@ bolded stop repeating this

true we need to continue to improve health care system but compared with our neighbours ,kenya is far ahead.we have a ratio of 200 doctors for a million kenyans, next uganda is 120 per a million .the worse of is Tanzania with 30 doctors per million

Bu**s**t excuse honestly sir.
Jakeporeshenko has said my mind already so no need to repeat. Will just drop a copy here grin undecided

"I really feel like it's not about having the money, it's about the will to spend that money, Nigerian leaders have this state of mind were they prioritize the wrong things.

Those multi billion dollar arms deals are out of our reach for now as long as this state of mind (were defense is not a priority) is not eliminated.

To me the key to turning things around is a west African arms race, we need one radical leader in our neighborhood, one who understand the real threat terrorism is."
The will to spend.. What are you guys talking about.... Whatever you are going to say the budget for those 10 years doesnt reflect a country that is currently at war. The Defence budget is low ... Common sence, no budget = no maintenance + no acquisition... Common sence plz

The NPF CTU was actually created to be a replica and where trained home & abroad (Israelis)
And they have been active in the N.E

but the SAPS STF has that distinction in skills that the CTU shld go seeking for

Nothing as in they were never put in storage.....simply rusting away somewhere in a field, some where sold to Somalia and Swaziland im guessing a few more were cannibalized and soled as spares, a handful were kept by the SAAF, some were sold to private collectors....as for the rest??...who knows?

i've seen videos of these guys in operation that'll convince me that if these guys are squred with Nigerian CTU, it'll be a bloodbath against CTU.(to some extent i'll rate them some of our sf units)

i know some Nigerians here will behead me for this commentgrin but it's a fact our emotions can't change

Perhaps you're not really understanding, Let me simplify. Will/purpose to spend = higher budget + acquisitions + maintenance.

None actually. The Oryx was built from scratch using (secretly) imported airframes and engines.. Both the Rooivalk and Oryx were developed simultaneously using the same engine imports.

The idea here was to have a helicopter that would last the SAAF for 40 years because of the UN Arms Embargo so the Pumas were already old and they weren't gonna hold..... 46 were built, 35 are in service.

3 donated to Swaziland to help find cannabis farms, 3 to Namibia, a few in Zimbabwe a few on private hands... There should be a dozen or two floating around.

Forgive your ignorance, how can something be built from scratch using "imported airframes and engines". And secretly imported from who ??
