Okay, so we all know that amebo about my most favorite series from Tecno has started seeping into our screens.
I was so curious to know the chipset they will use, so when I saw the chipset model online, I did some search and these are the facts I saw about the two unique chipsets.

The picture below shows you the prices of phones that use the Snapdragon 820 MSM996. Please note that one Euro @bank rate = NGN345...in parallel market, it is 470 naira. So take the Xiaomi Mi5 pro for example, here in Nigeria the cost would be around 150,000 when you add money for logistics/profit. The Sony Xperia XZ costs close to 200,000 as well.

Now, the pix below shows you the rendered image of the next Camon series. Some are saying it will be called C10...others are insisting it will be called CX. I'm not sure yet. But based on my measurement of the specs and tecno's tradition of affordability, It is likely to be sold between 75,000-85,000. it's my speculation though.

Going by all I've read on both chipsets, Snapdragon 820 wins. But not with a very wide margin.
Now, given the fact that I'm an African who's preferably on a budget, if I decide to go for the snapdragon device, it would cost me more....much more.
I'd rather go for the MediaTek device, first for it's affordability, then secondly, because it has all the things its competitor has, though not at the same level.

The margin is actually far wider than you can imagine . Even the best available MTK socs is no match for the snapdragon 820, you should be comparing this to the snapdragon 625 not even the 650.

When you talked about the price of the Camon CX/C10, did you also include the cost of the "supposed logistics" you talked about?

To be honest, with all the noise people keep making about the superiority of the Snapdragon, one has to give it to mediatek too. Steadily offering a more affordable option to OEMs. Take for example, some devices running on MTK can effectively stand against the Snapdragon phones. And yes, one has to take budget into consideration too. Looking at this upcoming Tecno CX or C10, if it was to be a Snapdragon device, I'm sure the price will hit the roof.
