Successjoy: Hello Success, do you have at least one year working experience in an NOC A,B or C occupation? |

peppers: I am surprised about this statement that GTB doesn't give the letter to CIC spec. I worked with GTB for almost a year and I have gotten a reference letter from HR headquarters with every single detail requested by CIC included in the letter. Who did you contact for the letter? I kinda agree it was NOC mismatch that caused this. I am using NOC 0122 in my application as I was also an Executive Trainee in ABG (Marketing). Sha, like I always say, I trust God fully, and I try to be careful. My faith carry heavy weight so I'm not scared by this. 2 Likes |

peppers: I don't know the letter that the GTBank staff used. I am not close to him; only became aware after he left. However, most banks, if not all, do not issue letters for immigration purposes to staff that are still in their employment. Please note my suggestions below; 1. On a "neutral" level, make a request of your job description from HR. You could give the impression that you want to update your CV. OR 2. Built a rapport with with a HR personnel and obtain it on an informal level. OR 3. Search your office mail for internal/external vacancies that had earlier your current job role. A job description should be included. In addition to any of the above, support your LOE with payslips, letters of employment/confirmation/promotion, appraisals, letter of introduction to the embassy and any relevant document that you can use in supporting your claim. If your supervisor is cooperative, you could ask him to do a personal reference for you while you get it notarized so that it can carry "weight". Above all, pray for God's favour. Kindly note that the above are what I would do if I were in your situation and not necessarily an expert opinion. cc: dupyshoo 3 Likes 1 Share |

My dear, you got that letter from Gtbank probably cos you are no longer in their employment. Most banks' Hr hardly give this letter in the required format. I will implore other bankers in the house to get their reference letter from their supervisors if hr will not give instead of impersonating the letter as if it was from Hr. Then add other supporting documents to prove that you are an employee. merrymum: 2 Likes |

If Gtbank Hr will not give you the letter in required format, get the fflgs: Generic letter from Hr, Your supervisor's reference letter which should be notarized if not on the bank's letterhead, supervisor's business card, atleast 3 months payslips, employment letter if possible. Then write LOE outlying all the documents. All these are not compulsory but just to give more credibility that you are actually an employee there. Finally, God's Mercies and Grace. All the best. peppers: 5 Likes 1 Share |

Beem4cupid: I totally agree with the bolded. However, do you think that CIC could send an introduction letter written by one's supervisor to head office for confirmation? |

It is best to also get the cover letter from Hr,the type they often write when we want to apply for tourist visas. They MAY confirm that from Hr and also confirm from the supervisor too. I do not think they confirm the aupervisor's letter from Hr. I have seen a first hand case where a junior colleague impersonated her supervisor's signature and when IRCC sent a confirmation mail, her supervisor was surprised and it took lots of begging before her supervisor replied the mail. Let us all refrain from impersonating. If you have good work relationship, getting reference letter from supervisor won't be difficult, worse case,it will be written on a plain paper which can be notarized. 40manlappy: 1 Like |

Wow, y'all are the best. What I actually did is that I got a letter of introduction from HR and got my supervisor to give me a letter stating all my duties along with her complimentary card. She is also doing this thing and got scared after seeing this and said I shouldn't not use the one she signed for me again. I will show her this and be hopeful that she won't mind. I can get it notarized by a lawyer as well. Thank you very much Beem4cupid: |

To be on the safe side, it is best she does not use the bank's letterhead but a plain paper which should be notarized, then include the complimentary card. Some banks frown at staff using letterheads indiscriminately. peppers: 1 Like |

As an ex-staff, you can get the letter. Are you in Canada already? I am using 6235 NOC For the same role and level. How come you used 0122? Pls enlighten and advise me. This thing is too sensitive though. Sigh ! merrymum: |

peppers: Not in Canada, just got ITA and about to submit my app. I had to switch to 0122 because of some of the roles listed on my reference letter like relationship management, preparation of weekly and monthly reports, risk asset creation and management, etc. The NOC 6235 doesn't have these. So I am trying to be as close as possible to the roles, even though the 0122 has manager titles. I also get confused too. Dunno why CIC differentiates similar job functions like they do. Just hope I'm on the right track. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by merrymum: 10:24pm On Mar 12, 2017 |
Beem4cupid: This is also what I did for my other job letter. HR said they don't do the CIC format, just a generic attestation letter. So I got my manager to do one according to CIC format and on coy letterhead. I then scanned the attestation letter, letter from my manager, and some of my payslips together. No info is too much. Just put as much as u can get together. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by lavivaavril(f): 10:28pm On Mar 12, 2017 |
I am of the opinion that you can get your ref letter from a bank's hr in CIC's format even if you are no longer with that bank. While requesting the letter, pls state all you want them to include. I have gotten two letters frm past employers (both banks) and they were very detailed. Some banks are already conversant with this letter due to high level of requests in the past but some are not exactly conversant with it hence the need to outline everything you want them to include in it. Good luck all 1 Like |

Pls House, my NOC is 0122, but my question is my course of study is not business/ management science line at all but am currently working with a microfinance bank, hope it won't affect in future as my university course of study is different to my current job am doing? I will be expecting reply soon. Thanks |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by merrymum: 10:55pm On Mar 12, 2017 |
walejummy: Your course of study doesn't have to match the NOC. I studied engineering and using NOC 0122 too. It's ur job roles that matter. 2 Likes |

peppers:If he later got a letter confirming him as an assistant banking officer and signed by a GM and a director, then where did the initial letter confirming him as a credit supervisor originate from? That is clearly a misrepresentation. He shot himself in the foot. 3 Likes |

Hi Guys, Under my personal history, I have just two items. My present work: where I ll clock ten years in a few months and a twelve months period when I was unemployed. Kindly recall tht the period under reference is always from ones 18th birthday or from the past ten years. I find it rather strange that I have only two items in mine considering I'm accounting for activities in the past ten years only ? Is it ok? |
