FBNH subsidiaries appear to be doing well. I hope they keep them profitable.

She is not throwing good money away. Fidelity bank is fundamentally sound, and one of consistent dividend paying stocks. Her plan is to hold the stock for a long period and averaging down is not a bad strategy for her. The stock is heavily undervalued and accumulating more units at a lower price makes sense. She has more to benefit from averaging down close to its 52-week low price than holding the stock if the stock price rebounds to N1 (the price she originally bought it).

From experience I know that 52 weeks low is a trap. Some stocks experience lower lows. I'm not saying fidelity is a bad stock, I'm just saying no need to increase your position on a bad trade what you do instead is to buy more when it's in your favour. Just put some risk planning into it as na only God fit predict future. Everybody enters bad trades, it's how you manage it that makes one still have a shirt on their backs by the end of the day.

Kudos!!! Many investors/traders come up with their analysis (fundamental/technical) and belief a stock should rise, but instead of rising, the stock price continue to fall. Many will add to their position believing their analysis is correct! This is totally WRONG! As someone put it, why do you want to catch a falling knife... all you'll get is BLOOD on your hands. At this point forget about fundamentals, forget about technical, forget about what you think is correct, what matters is how the market sees the stock... Market will dictate the right price for that stock.

TAKE: Never add position to a losing trade.

IMO
Looking at those fixed income rates, keep your game short , the long money is still in money market

It not enough to make claims like this without backing it up with reasons. If truly the bank surprises the market positively, I guess you'll be like " I said it".
Give us whatever information you have or share your thoughts.

Disclosure: In this bus but would gladly welcome contratarian views about its viability

The light at the end of tunnel of the Elephant is still dim. Bad loans have refused to go away. Q3 loans impairment already hit N115b. I will be happy if full year does not exceed N130b. Any impairment in excess of N150b, please run away and never look back.

Rising impairment worrisome. But are you aware there were new developments in the 4th quarter? One of the major defaulters (Aiteo) had their loan restructured so it would no longer classified as nonperforming. What I am not sure of is if this was concluded before the close of the 4th quarter. You would recall the announcement of landmark production from the well Aiteo acquired from Shell divestment.
I wish there was any new info on the Atlantic Energy loan. The FG was going to resell assets to another investor.

Please note that I am going long on FBNH.
