neurosci: Dem poku... It took me a couple of weeks to come out with a list of about 12 last year. Utah Valley Uni, Brigham Young Uniersity, Dixie state uni, weber state uni, new mexico highland uni etc etc. but you are a student, you can search... Walspring also testified to this, you can ask for more schools from him, thst is if you are too busy to search. |

Nairaland is not the only faceless forum. A notable forum for graduate admission is Gradcafe where people report their profile in a similar manner. By the way, what has "faceless" got to do with this? I will report my profile when the time comes. I've gained insight to US admission by learning from others. I don't see why you should lose sleep on this. Drhopeful did it, I will do it. OGreene may choose to or may not, but that should not be your headache my dear. LagosismyHome: |

Undergrad degree – Zoology. I majored in Parasitology (the health sciences aspect). CGPA- 3.73/5.0 (3.26/4.0). Research – my final year project. Work experience – 5 years. Ministry of Health and banking. Been to some programs that center on development, knowledge of 2 foreign languages, had proper leadership training. GRE- 302/4.0 Then re-wrote and got 307/3.5. My Quants was much better in the second one, 63 percentile. Only UMN asked for TOEFL, so I took it, 95 (R26/L25/S23/W21). LOR: Good Profs who have become my friends plus one non-academic referee, a vast man. I didn’t see the letters. Had to use my supervisor once (emergency situation). SOP: I wrote about how I grew up surrounded by dev issues and want to do something about them (my life mission), my health and finance knowledge, why the school stands out, what I want to focus on (major) and whom I want to work with in the dept, and how I will join UN and work to liberate poorer communities focusing on Sub-Saharan Africa. Optional letter- every other thing I have done that I could relate to dev, some extra-curricular activities. I wrote from the bottom of my heart, nothing bogus, just the way I felt about dev. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

OGreene:Congrats Man! But I have to enter you small... Remember how you REFUSED to divulge your GRE scores despite all the appeals made on the GRE thread. Now shebi because you don get admission to top schools, you just dey display the 'poor' scores anyhow, even the ones we did not know about (I never knew you took it twice). Na real wa for you. Just wondering if revealing your scores earlier on that thread would have marred your chances of admission in any way.... Anyway, I am happy for you. 9 Likes |

Whether you call this entering, na you sabi. Even b4 i got the admissions, i pasted my scores, not on this thread. Plus people i chatted with on this thread, of course you dont know all these. Its still a voluntary thing. I didnt put up my profile in the first place, he asked that i add that, no accusations, and I dropped it. Matter finish! drhopeful: 1 Like |

ecoleco: I unequivocally advise you to go with Duke. The opportunities Duke would open you up to is limitless. What I would advise while at Duke is to make the most of your time there by forming strong networks with the students, faculty and the community there and sustaining same thereafter. These will be extremely useful should you decide to return to the US after the compulsory period away must have elapsed. I'm stating these because I personally have a friend whose life has totally transformed as a result of attending Duke. I'm restrained from stating the specifics of what I mean for the sake of his privacy. In fact, I got an application waiver to a program at Duke due to his recommendation. Even though my application this time wasn't successful as I had just about two weeks to prepare and my GRE wasn't competitive enough, I plan to reapply after boosting my scores. Congrats on your admission to Duke and I can tell you that you will never regret going to Duke. Notice I didn't mention the Texas University simply because I don't think it's worth considering even though it's a Phd program. 3 Likes |
