Although Vit. B12 is not found in plants, vegan can take in Vit. B12 by eating foods (cereals & yeast extracts) that have been fortified with it.
One can also take vit. B12 supplements

Also, our intestinal bacteria synthesize Vit. B12

In fact the Vit. B12 found in animal foods binds with the protein which impedes its absorption in the body. So vegetarian sources of Vit. B12 is preferable.
