Simple logic, you have no moral grounds to question Magu over an allegation when you are littered with dirt. 1 Like |

Its those people magu is showing pepper that don't wnt him. If the reason for not confirming him is because he has a case, most of these senators are past govenors who have various case in court that one stop them from becoming senetors. Nigeria my beloved country where its now sane to act insane, shey na like dis we go dey dey. |

Ndume can resign from the senate for being accused of sponsoring boko haram if he likes, sarakis court case was after he became senate president and not before ,of which we know those behind it. the Nigerian senate has rejected magu and that arm of government should be respected the way other agencies go about accepting court verdicts period. |

valid points by ndume here but magu is to blame here. if he had ever since the first rejection filed a case against the dss so as to clear his name that report would not now be standing in his way. funny how he missed that except the report is true. |

freeze001:......Am not sure you live in this country, may be you are but on hospital bed or in prison if not,you would have known Saraki is one of many governors still having corruption cases in various courts,so that also is an indictment. Now back to the issue, which report senate used in determining Magu confirmation hearing??...the one from DSS which the attorney general office rejected and cleared the man??. Its now evident the Senate has personal scores to settle with the man and I can bet you,he will continue to be acting in that acting capacity until his tenure is up. We should be objective 4 once and always strive to be on the side of truth. |
Re: Ndume: If Magu Could Be Rejected, Saraki Should Not Be Senate President by freeze001(f): 2:25pm On Mar 16, 2017 |
BigBen10: That's the point. He shouldn't have been exposed to acting for so long because his job is one that requires him to step on toes, very big ones at that. He was open to executive interference and the need to please his boss without the protection of a secure tenure. Why was the President lax in sending him to the Senate to be screened within one or two months of his appointment when he wouldn't have done much? Saraki is secure in his position along with other Senators, Magu is not. Mr President should have secured him by acting in time, simple! |

Re: Ndume: If Magu Could Be Rejected, Saraki Should Not Be Senate President by freeze001(f): 2:37pm On Mar 16, 2017 |
Nig4Greatness: Saraki is in elected position and no, he has not been indicted by any court. An ongoing trial os not an indictment and does not preclude a person from contesting for and occupying an elective office until he has been conclusively declared guilty. Otherwise what is Buruji Kashamu doing in the Senate? A political appointee on the other hand must be vetted by the relevant organisation and where that is not favourable, his appointment bites the dust. The MoJ did not clear him of any wrongdoing contained in the DSS report and the DSS wrote a second time to the Senate affirming its original report. My position remains that the Presidency did not act in time and exposed its appointee to the negative treatment he's getting. Can someone explain why Mr President felt the need to leave Magu in acting capacity for up to 8 months? To what end really? Is the DSS not part of the Presidency? |
